Silver unlocked the door to his apartment, pushing it open and tossing his keys into the bowl on the end table. “Hey, Aliyah,” he said to his roommate. Just for the practice, he pierced her glamor with his stormsoothing abilities, revealing pointed ears and huge violet eyes with slitted, catlike pupils.
He was getting really good at that. Soon it would be automatic, or so his teacher had assured him. He’d been living in Portland for three months now, studying stormsoothing with Stephanie and working as a barista with a couple of other mages, Fae, and half-Fae.
