“Let’s fight it together!” Hector offered with the worst of intentions.

As the other man turned to face the looming feldeath, the crystalline creatures turned to dust and scattered, leaving behind no trace.

“Figures the asshole would run,” the man complained to nobody in particular. “Fine. What’s your ability? Where’s your reaper? How old are you? Quick now.”

Hector found it off-putting that the guy would ask for that information without offering his own ability, but there wasn’t time to argue. “Iron materialization. Reaper’s not here. 50 years.” Hector made up some bullshit about his age.

“Shit, that barely helps. Distract the fucker at least.”

The man dodged a dark beam of energy and immediately countered with a ranged attack of some type, striking the feldeath.

At that moment, Hector bolted, flying as fast as his armor could take him.

“You fucker!” the other man screamed as he was overwhelmed by the feldeath’s follow-up attacks.

If it was any consolation, Hector didn’t make it too far either.
