Chapter 55: I’ll Give You a Chance to Defeat Me

The leader was still watching from behind. He hadn’t drunk the blood yet, and he was secretly shocked. The girl in front of him was only at the Second Spirit Life level, but her martial skills were extraordinary and incredibly agile, allowing her to counter-kill his Third Spirit Life subordinates.

Seeing Nan Gong Huan kill another person, the leader knew he couldn’t just sit back and do nothing. Just as he was about to launch a sneak attack, he suddenly felt a chill run down his spine. The already cold air dropped in temperature even further!

The leader couldn’t help but shiver and instinctively turned to look in Dong Yan Cuo’s direction. He found Dong Yan Cuo staring at him with deep, dark eyes that were full of danger.

Immediately after, an overwhelming pressure descended on the leader’s head, forcing his legs deep into the snow and rendering him immobile!

"Don’t move. Wait quietly for Huan Huan to deal with you!" Dong Yan Cuo snorted coldly. He was saving this one for Huan Huan to handle!

Huan Huan would definitely praise him and reward him!

The leader gritted his teeth, struggling with all his might. Despite trembling with effort, he couldn’t break free from this power and was soon drenched in sweat. Meanwhile, Dong Yan Cuo continued to gaze at Nan Gong Huan, his eyes filled with infatuation.

In just this short time, Nan Gong Huan killed another person!

The leader was so furious he felt like vomiting blood, but the metallic taste stuck in his throat.

"Trash! A bunch of trash! Surround her from both sides!" the leader roared in anger, his restless spiritual energy causing the snow around him to tremble.

But the next second, a snowball flew straight into his mouth!

"Shut up! Your bad breath is stinking up Huan Huan!" Dong Yan Cuo glared at him, tossing another snowball that hit the leader squarely on the head.

"Spit, spit! Don’t push it!" the leader snarled, spitting out the snowball. But with his body completely immobilized, he could only stand there as a living target.

"Xiao Jiu!" Nan Gong Huan felt this was too easy, so she summoned Xiao Jiu to join the fight and gain some experience.

As soon as Xiao Jiu appeared, everyone’s eyes turned red.

Holy crap, the Nine Nether Dragon Divine Beast! The leader’s eyes widened with greed. If he could get his hands on the blood of a divine beast...

"Dragon Transformation Technique—Ice and Snow Dragon!" Xiao Jiu let out a howl, and the snow in the wind quickly gathered, forming a massive, pure white ice dragon in the storm!

The ice dragon, controlled by Xiao Jiu, charged through the berserk beast-men, throwing them into chaos.

The Dragon Transformation Technique was an ability Xiao Jiu had gained after absorbing the beast crystal. It allowed him to summon the surrounding elements and condense them into a real dragon to fight alongside him.

Nan Gong Huan moved through the chaos like a gust of wind in the snowstorm. Her Radiant Gold Blade was like a meteor streaking through the storm, and every time its cold light flashed, a burst of blood mist erupted, carried away by the wind.

Blood splattered on the hem of her clothes, making her look like a dark plum blossom in the night—both enchanting and stunning.

In just a few minutes, the snowstorm suddenly stopped. The ground was littered with corpses, and the blood pooled into small puddles. Only the leader remained standing.

"Not a single one of you could fight," Nan Gong Huan flicked the blood off her Radiant Gold Blade, her gaze cold as she looked at the leader.

Xiao Jiu also landed at Nan Gong Huan’s feet, holding his head high with pride. His energy was almost spent, and the ice dragon hovering in the air instantly disintegrated, turning into a flurry of snow.

The leader’s expression was grim, but he could only shout, "You’ve killed so many of my brothers from the Divine Blood Hall! The Divine Blood Hall will never let you go!"

So he just revealed his sect’s name?

Nan Gong Huan mulled over the words "Divine Blood Hall." She had never heard of this faction before.

She waved her hand, signaling Dong Yan Cuo to release the pressure. The leader finally felt the weight lift from his body.

"I’ll give you a chance to defeat me," Nan Gong Huan said. She was quite curious about their sect’s blood-drinking secret technique. Unfortunately, the previous members hadn’t shown much of its power. She wondered if the leader had any real skill to showcase the true might of blood-drinking berserk mode.

"You said it yourself!" The leader’s eyes darkened. He immediately jumped to the side of the Snow Bear, cut open its flesh with a knife, and buried his face in it, drinking its blood.

Seeing this, Nan Gong Huan couldn’t help but show a hint of disgust. So the blood they drank came from different spirit beasts.

After drinking the Snow Bear’s blood, the leader’s blood patterns quickly spread across his skin. His body began to swell, growing as massive as the Snow Bear, and his limbs transformed into sharp claws. He glared at Nan Gong Huan with a menacing look, his nostrils flaring, and the aura of a Fifth Spirit Life cultivator radiated from him.

"Come on!" The leader beat his chest and let out a low roar, the sound waves shaking the ground. His face, covered in bloodstains, looked terrifying.

"You can level up, and so can I!" Nan Gong Huan smiled faintly, raising her hand. A potion flew out from the Di Ming Ring and landed in her palm—it was the promotion potion Elder Ling had just refined for her.

Nan Gong Huan drank it in one gulp. In an instant, the snowstorm around her scattered, and the spirit vein hidden beneath the snowy mountain trembled!

The delicate spiritual energy, like threads, surged from the ground into her body. Each strand contained immense energy, weaving through her dantian at lightning speed to form her third spiritual platform!

  Promotion, Third Spirit Life—Initial Stage!

Nan Gong Huan’s eyes sparkled, pure as snow, and a meaningful smile flashed in her peach-blossom eyes. Her aura also rose a notch.

"Master, go for it!" Xiao Jiu was still jumping around in the snow, clearly enjoying the soft, white stuff.

But the leader still sneered. His power had reached the Fifth Spirit Life level, and even though she had just advanced to the Third Spirit Life, there was still an insurmountable gap between them!

"Snow Bear’s Roar!" The leader opened his mouth and let out a deafening roar, his teeth now sharp fangs. The sound waves struck Nan Gong Huan’s eardrums directly!

The nearby rocks couldn’t withstand the roar and shattered into pieces, tumbling down the mountain.

The mountain peak shook, and a deep rumbling followed. The ground trembled slightly, and the snow on the peak began to crack, sending dust and snow cascading down.

Nan Gong Huan glanced at the mountaintop. Not good—this was the precursor to an avalanche!

  Finish this quickly!

Nan Gong Huan stepped forward, shooting through the air like an arrow, closing the distance to the leader.

The leader swung his claws, the heavy bear paw generating a strong gust of wind that forced Nan Gong Huan to lower her stance and roll into the snow.

As the bear paw was about to land, Nan Gong Huan immediately activated her time authority!

"First Level Authority, Flow of Time!"

A burst of golden light enveloped half of the leader’s arm, slowing his movement to a crawl!

The leader’s expression turned to shock. He tried to pull back his arm, but it was like trying to escape quicksand.

  Perfect opportunity!

Nan Gong Huan swung her blade horizontally, sending a sharp energy slash toward the leader’s neck. The leader was quick to react, raising his other bear paw to block. The energy slash struck his arm with a heavy impact, leaving a deep, bone-deep wound.

He was lucky to have such strong defense. If he were any weaker, the entire arm would have been severed!

Nan Gong Huan now understood. After drinking the blood, they not only transformed into similar forms but also inherited the spirit beast’s abilities and skills. For example, this Snow Bear’s leader had inherited its powerful defense, including the Snow Bear’s Roar skill.
