CHAPTER 7.2: THE HIDDEN THREAT

After the introductions, Christopher Gale announced Kale Draven as the captain of the raid team. However, Kale refused the position because he had no experience with D-Rank Gates.

Gale was pleased by Kale’s decision, realizing that he was thinking not just about himself but about the entire team. Instead, Gale appointed Albert Leo as the captain.

Albert led the team into the Gate. As soon as they entered, a Magical Beast attacked Kale, but he swiftly cut it down with a single slash of his sword. His teammates were shocked by his strength.

After moving deeper into the Gate, the path split into two directions. Albert, as the captain, decided that Kale and a Slayer named Lark would take the right path, while the rest of the team would go left.

As Kale and Lark proceeded, Kale learned that Lark was the weakest Slayer in the team. Kale reassured him, "Don’t worry. I was the weakest once too—but not anymore."

Kale eliminated all the Magical Beasts along his path with ease. Meanwhile, on the other side, Albert’s entire team was wiped out—he was the only survivor.

Albert was not who he claimed to be. In reality, he was Jack Gale, Christopher Gale’s younger brother, and the second most powerful Slayer in the USA. He soon realized that this Gate was not a normal one—it wasn’t ruled by a single Magical Beast. Instead, it contained both a C-Rank and an S-Rank boss.

Kale and Lark eventually reached the C-Rank Boss. They combined their strength and launched a fierce attack, but it had no effect. Kale quickly understood that this was no ordinary D-Rank Boss—it was far stronger than what he had heard about D-Rank Gate bosses.

Realizing the danger, Kale decided to use the power his father had given him. His sword crackled with lightning, and with a powerful strike, he managed to cut off the boss’s arm.

However, as the boss counterattacked with its left hand, Lark failed to dodge and was killed instantly.

Seeing this, Kale was filled with uncontrollable rage. Harnessing the power of Lightning Strike, he unleashed a devastating attack and killed the boss.
