Ch.2: The Cycle Has Begun

  Paul_Michaels

Chase emerged from the dark, damp cave and found himself standing under the twinkling, star-studded night sky. He gazed up at the celestial dispy, pondering the ideal location to take cover and remain unnoticed.

"Eve, I need you to show me a world map. The bigger the better."

The book in front of Chase suddenly opened on its own, emitting a soft, ethereal glow. As he watched in amazement, the light shot upward, coalescing into a massive, holographic map of the world. Chase's eyes widened in awe, and his jaw dropped as he beheld the breathtaking sight unfurling before him.

  "Holy shit!"

  "What is wrong, Master?"

"This looks like something out of a fantasy movie or a video game. It's almost like a hologram."

"A hologram? That's the first time I've heard of it."

"Don't worry about it. So, let's start with the basics. Where are we right now?"

"Right now, we are located in the northern continent of the old human kingdom of Niveria. At least, that's what it was called about a thousand years ago. Hold on. I can do a simple scan of the area and see if there's a town or a vilge nearby." Eve conjured a radiant purple ball of light. The orb soared in all directions before gracefully circling back to the pages of the book.

"Okay, Master. I have good news and bad news... Which one would you like first?"

"Uhhh... I'll take the good news?"

"There is a small fishing vilge not too far from here. It's about three miles southwest of us."

Chase found it puzzling why that was considered good news. It appeared to be more like neutral news to him.

"Well, if that's what you call good news, then the bad news shouldn't be that bad," Chase said out loud.

"Oh? Well, most of the vilge's guards are murdering the men and raping the women. Once they discovered that a Demon Lord had emerged miles away from their vilge, they seemed determined to go out with a bang, but they didn't include us! We have to hurry if we want to capitalize on getting Lust Points, Master," Eve said with a cheerful tone.

Chase found himself in a state of bewildered disbelief. The unexpected reaction had left him speechless. He felt responsible for the chaos unfolding around him and was determined to take action to assist those affected. However, he couldn't help but wonder if the survivors would be open to receiving his assistance.

"Are you serious? They're not trying to band together to stop the Demon Lord and protect the people?"

"Oh no, these humans seem set on running away. But they are letting their worst desires get the better of them. And the ones in charge are thinking about taking a woman or two and maybe a few children as sex sves while they flee. Some are even thinking about killing all the men and women before they run away. It really bugs me when selfish people like them kill off prime candidates who haven't been corrupted yet. We lose out on getting some experience points to grow stronger!" Eve compined cheerfully as she floated around Chase.

He paid no attention to the floating grimoire as he quietly contempted his choices. 'They are allowing their fears to overpower their emotions and drive them to carry out atrocious acts. This is unacceptable... Maybe I can assist the innocent somehow... But I ck any fighting skills, and they will likely panic when confronted by a Demon Lord appearing out of the blue! Damn it. What am I supposed to do? Ugh... I feel utterly useless right now!'

Chase was jolted as the ancient, leather-bound grimoire bumped into him, clearly trying to get his attention.

"Ow!? What-what is it?" Chase excimed, rubbing his forehead.

"Master, I may have a suggestion. If you are willing to listen," Eve suggested as she hovered above his head.

  "Sure, go ahead."

"As a Demon Lord, if you go to the vilge, you might scare off the guards who have succumbed to fear. But I'll say this... I don't think you can save anyone... Plus, it's weird that you want to save some silly humans. Most Demon Lords wouldn't bat an eye at their demise. You're really strange, Master," Eve pointed out, showing a perplexed motion in the floating grimoire.

'She has no conscience! Tsk! I don't have time to argue. I'm going in! Even if it might put me in danger! I won't let innocents die if I can prevent it!'

"S-Shut up, Eve! I'll be damned if I don't do something, even if someone tries to fight me—Ah, fuck it! I'll improvise when I get there. Now lead the way, Eve. I have vilgers to save," Chase said in an annoyed tone.

The ancient, leather-bound grimoire had never seen such emotions to save inferior beings before. This was something that none of her previous masters had ever expressed. She had no clue how to react, but it piqued her curiosity.

"Whatever you say, Master," Eve replied with a hint of amusement. This was a new experience for her. And she wanted to see what it is to save someone.

  ***

(Minutes before the demon beacons were lit up in the night sky.)

In the quiet, moonlit fishing vilge of Ars, a young woman of around 20 years old stood watch in her usual spot. She belonged to a noble family and harbored a deep desire to protect her kingdom. However, her refusal to accept the betrothal proposal from the captain of the Royal Knights resulted in her being assigned to guard the remote fishing vilge.

Despite her exceptional sword skills, which would have earned her the rank of lieutenant in a different circumstance, she found herself relegated to the rank of corporal and stationed in this secluded outpost. Her name was Lai Velno, the youngest member of her family. Her mother had passed away during childbirth, and her father had never remarried. Her skill with a long bde made her a formidable swordsman, but her aspirations were thwarted by the captain's personal grudge against her for rejecting him.

Lai was wearing a simple bck and blue outfit with some chainmail underneath. She was standing watch as the rest of her men were getting drunk and partying. She could smell the alcohol in the air, and she had a headache.

"Idiots... All of them." Lai muttered to herself.

She had short dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. She was a looker, but since she was the daughter of a nobleman and the third in charge of the Watch. So, no man would dare court her except the Mayor's son. Who has tried to make passes at her several times?

"Am I fated to be stuck in this vilge forever? I want to be a knight and protect my people." Lai whispered softly to herself.

She was one of the kingdom's strongest soldiers, and her dream was to fight the Demon Lords like in all the old tales and protect her people. But Nikoi, who is the Captain of the Royal Knights, had been trying to get into her bed since he became the Captain. And when she rejected him, he was the one who put her here. She learned the hard way that her status didn't mean anything, and it only took her a few days to realize the corruption and deceit of those above her.

Lai had no friends in power in the capital, and she knew that her position was at stake if she didn't obey her orders. So, she stayed and did her job to protect it from pirates and thieves.

But the vilge had been quiet and peaceful since she was sent here. It was a simple life, and the vilgers were nice to her.

Though the Mayor's son, Lucius, has been trying to get into her pants ever since she came here. And he tried to use the guards to get what he wanted. But Lai was not some easy target, and she had put the fear of the gods in them.

"I'm not scared of a bunch of drunken assholes. They won't get close to me. Or else I'll have them strung up in the vilge square and hung."

Suddenly, her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a bell. It was coming from the Night's Watch Tower, which is used to spot pirates and ships in the area.

Lai yelled to her men, "To arms! Pirates have come!"

All the drunken guards were sobered up in seconds as they all went for their weapons. They were unamused that the night of revelry had been cut short.

They all looked to Lai for their orders.

"What's your orders, corporal?" One of the older guards asked her.

"Form up for now. We need to see who's attacking the vilge." Lai shouted back.

"You heard the dy! Form up!" The older guard yelled as all the guards formed into ranks, and they all started to leave the tavern.

They had their shields and their weapons out, ready for battle.

'Gods help us all. Please save our lives, oh merciful ones.' Lai thought as she opened the door and walked out to the vilge square.

When they got to the square, they didn't see any ships coming in—just the normal fishing boats that had been docked. Everything seemed in order. That was until they saw six red beams of light shooting through the night sky like a comet.

The six beams were traveling across the sky, signaling something to the world. Lai knew of this from her studies growing up in a noble household that they were a sign that the Demon Lords had awakened.

"What in the world are those?" One of the younger guards said as he pointed to the beams.

"It's a signal that the Demon Lords are back, but I only see six of the lights," another guard stated.

  "Yeah, where's the sevent—"

They were interrupted when they felt the ground starting to shake. Before they knew it, the mountain five miles away from them erupted, and a giant red beam shot into the night sky.

It was so bright that it blinded them for a second. The light joined the six other beams, and everyone in the vilge started screaming in terror.

"You're fucking me! The vilge was right next to the seventh Demon Lord. Fuck this, I'm getting the fuck out of here!" One of the guards yelled as he and four other guards tried to make a break for it.

Lai drew her sword and yelled at the top of her lungs, "Any man who abandons his post will be hanged! Get back in line and form up! We are trained to protect the kingdom."

Her voice echoed through the square, but the guards were terrified. They didn't want to die here.

"Fuck you, bitch! We were trained to deal with monsters, pirates, and thieves, not a fucking Demon Lord. The capital doesn't pay us enough for this shit. I'm out." One of the guards said as he drew his sword.

"Anyone else?" Lai shouted as she stood her ground and pointed her sword at the man.

"You know what! I wouldn't mind seeing the corporal's breasts before I die to the Demon Lord. Maybe even get a blowjob, eh boys!"

All the guards cheered, but then Lai spoke.

"I'll give you two choices. Either fight the Demon Lord and protect the people. Or I'll run you through, right here and now. It's your choice, traitor." Lai threatened.

"Oh yeah. You can't kill a man if you're dead." The man said as he ran at her.

Lai didn't hesitate as she skillfully parried his sword away and countered him by thrusting her sword. Aiming for his center torso.

  *STAB!*

The man screamed as he was stabbed in the gut and fell to the ground.

"Anyone else wants to try me?! I'll fight the Demon Lord and anyone who tries to get in my way." Lai yelled as she pulled her sword from the man and held it out to the rest of the men.

Five of the Guards ran away while four of the guards looked at Lai with lust and anger in their eyes.

'These men are nothing but cowards and traitors.'

"Well, corporal. I don't care if I die. But I wouldn't mind having a go with you. What do you say, boys?"

"Yeah! Maybe she'll show us her tits and suck our dicks!"

"A woman should know her pce! Which is on her knees or on her back!"

"Hahahaha. Let's see if you're really a virgin. Maybe after I'm done with you, I'll kill that bastard, Lucius."

The four men were drooling and looking at Lai like she was a piece of meat.

"You will be hanged for treason, traitors!" Lai screamed.

"Hahahaha. Not a chance, you little bitch." One of the guards said as he drew his sword and charged towards her.

Lai was about to defend herself. Luckily, this man drank enough to slow his movements. So, she easily parried his attack and stabbed him through the chest.

As soon as she did, the other three rushed her. She was able to dodge the first man's attack, but the second and third man were faster.

They were able to tackle her to the ground and pin her down.

"Get off me, you fucking dogs!" Lai yelled.

"Shut up, whore!" One of the men yelled as he spped her.

"Now, let's see what kind of armor you're wearing." The other man said as he started taking off her armor.

"You bastards! I'll kill you for this." Lai growled.

As Lai struggled to break free, she started hearing the cries and screams of the vilgers. She could hear the screams of women and children and the ughter and yelling of men.

She couldn't do anything about it. If she could, she would have killed these men in a heartbeat.

'Think, Lai! The people need you. What can you do?'

As she was thinking, her armor was taken off, and the man who spped her took out his dagger.

"Let's see what you're hiding under that armor."

"Fuck you," Lai said through gritted teeth.

"Soon enough. But I want to make sure you're not hiding any weapons."

As the man was starting to cut the front of her uniform, she had an idea.

'Yes! I can do this. I'll use my body as a distraction. That is my only option. Oh please, Gods forgive me!'

Lai was mentally preparing herself as the front of her uniform was torn open. And once her breasts came free. She arched her back and moaned softly, pretending to enjoy it. This was the first time she ever made that sound like that and it surprised her how easy it was for her to do.

"Damn. Look at those. They are better than I expected." One of the guards said as he started groping her.

"It fucking sucks that we are going to die tonight. Cause these are the best pair of tits I have seen." The other guard said as he started sucking on her nipples.

"Mmmmmm. That feels good." Lai moaned as she tried to keep her pn together.

She needed them to release her wrists and ankles. And she knew that this was her only chance to save the vilgers.

"Oh, yeah. That's what I'm talking about." The first guard said as he was now on top of her and began to take off his trousers.

"Hurry the fuck up. I want my turn with her. She's too hot for words." The second guard said.

"I'll go fast, trust me. Now let's see how you taste."

And as soon as the first man put down the knife to grab her thighs. Lai knew this was her chance once the second guard started focusing on her breasts. She took the knife and quickly stabbed the first guard in the neck and punched the second one in the balls.

  "Gah!"

  "Noooo!"

As soon as she killed the first guard, she was able to push him off her.

  "Y-You fucking whore!"

"Die, traitor," Lai said as she threw the knife, and it nded in the second man's neck.

The st man was still shocked by what happened and was about to run, but Lai was faster as she picked up her sword and stabbed him in the head.

'I did it. I did it!' Lai was ecstatic, but she knew that she had to save the vilge. And just as she was about to grab her armor. A bolt from a crossbow hit her in the back and through her gut.

  "Gah!" Lai yelled.

She fell to the ground, and her vision started to blur.

"Dammit, Broc! I said aim for the leg!" Yelled the familiar weasely voice of Lucius.

"Sorry, sir. I was trying my best," Broc said.

Lai couldn't move, but she could still hear.

'The fucking Mayor's son... I'm going to kill him, even if I have to crawl to him.'

"Fuck, Broc! I wanted to make her my sex sve, and she would've been a nice addition to the collection. Ugh. Now you had to ruin it. And I wanted her to blow me." Lucius yelled in anger.

'This fucking pig is disgusting.' Lai thought as she tried to grab her clothes to help cover her wounds.

"Now she'll bleed out, and I won't be able to have her," Lucius said in a pouty tone.

"Maybe you can get a blowjob out of her before she dies," Broc suggested.

"Oh. That's a great idea, Broc! Thank you. Come, let's have some fun." Lucius said with joy.

As the two were walking toward Lai, her vision started to fade, and she could feel her blood pooling around. And just as they reached her, Lucius heard his father yelling at him.

"Lucius! We need to get to the boat. The Demon Lords are attacking the vilge. Get the sves that aren't dying, and get moving." Mayor Hanz ordered.

"But I always wanted her," Lucius whined.

"I'll have a repcement for you when we get to the next port. Now let's go!" Mayor Hanz shouted as he ran towards the docks.

"But I think I can get at least one blowjob in before we leave," Lucius said, trying to bargain with his father.

That’s when a bright purple ball of light swooped through the air before heading back to the forest where the mountain was.

"What the hell was that?" Broc said in awe.

"It looks like magic, but it's different," Lucius said.

"That was the Demon Lord's magic! We need to go, NOW!" Mayor Hanz yelled.

Lucius sighed as he looked down at Lai.

"Well, it's time for you to serve your kingdom, Lai... Have fun with the Demon Lords." Lucius ughed as he and Broc started running towards the docks.

'Fuck you, you piece of shit!' Lai screamed in her head as her vision went dark.

Her body was losing its warmth as her life was slipping away. Soon, she fell on her back, unable to move.

As Lai y there dying. She began to think of her father, her family, and her friends. She regretted never finding someone to love.

'I failed you, father... I'm sorry.'

And with that, she reclined on the cool, hard surface, her body still and tense, each breath feeling heavier than the st as she awaited the final moments with a mix of resignation and quiet resolve.
