Entry 1 Mine

  Dine the Sword

I had walked through this hall countless times…

My blade consistently sheathed, my clothes usually grand…

At the end there always stood a throne, however it was never mine…

As I walked over today in the selfsame hall….

My blade, dripping blood, my clothes tattered and soaked…

At the end of the hall stood a vacant throne with a barren crown…

As the sounds of my footsteps bounced back to me while the bloodied ones were left behind, I could finally reach the throne that belonged to no one, the one with an empty crown.

My eyes devoid of feelings, scoffed at the gold shining on the throne…

Was this all there was to it?

This extravagant gold? And those ornamental jewels?

It never looked so destroyed yet so pristine as it did now.

My heart heavy and my face pale, my emotions void, ah, what a perfect fit it was!

With the crown on my head and the throne at my disposal, I sat on the desolate chair.

The scene in front of me unfolded, and the bodies at the other end of the hall spoke nothing.

I had left them behind, everything that wasn't mine...

Ah, finally, it was so quiet…

Ah, finally, it was all mine….
