New World

She explained the geography of this world to him.

This planet is huge. He didn't even believe it at first. This planet is even bigger than the Sun. And the Sun is a million times larger than Earth.

A year here doesn't equate to the time it takes for this planet to revolve around its star, since this planet doesn't even revolve around it. The star here is also massive. A star of that size should have died in a few million years, but she assured him it has been here for at least a billion.

He asked her, "How old are you, and who are you anyway?"

She told him they would come to that later and continued explaining.

A year here is 1,000 days. A day is the time it takes this planet to rotate twice, so there are two nights and two days in a single day.

"There are three nights and two days," she corrected him.

  He was confused.

"The third night happens on both sides of the planet at the same time. Obviously, it's an unnatural phenomenon, but we have no idea why it happens. It is different from a regular night, as it causes total blackout—as if someone covered the whole planet with a cloth. It lasts for an hour."

  He nodded. She then continued.

"There is one huge continent surrounded by ocean. The continent is so vast that it extends into every hemisphere. If one end is experiencing night, the other end is experiencing day."

"The continent is divided into provinces. Each province is divided into three layers: the Outer, the Inner, and the War Zone. The Outer surrounds the Inner, and the Inner surrounds the War Zone. The War Zone is at the center of the continent."

He asked, "What does the War Zone mean?"

"Humans are not the apex of this world. Our world was once—and still is—a battlefield for two races: the Chaotic Beings and the Winged Ones. These two have been mortal enemies since time immemorial."

"But why do they fight on this planet?" he was confused.

"Because neither can enter the other's region. Chaotic Beings live in an impenetrable realm, while the boundaries of the Winged Ones are protected by their god."

"Since they cannot invade each other, they made this planet their battlefield."

"God? And why not another planet?" he asked.

"Because this planet is one of the largest and contains an ample amount of Aether—a perfect battlefield. So perfect, in fact, that life came into existence here," she explained.

"As for their god, he is called 'The First One.' Don't say this name in the real world—you will die, and even I won't be able to save you."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Didn't I tell you about some Absolute Beings that are so strong even other Absolute Beings aren't safe? 'The First One' belongs to that category. As the name suggests, 'She' is the first being in the universe."

"The first being in the universe! How old is the universe? And why did you say 'She'?" he asked, very curious.

"You cannot speak with a king casually, or else you would be killed for disrespect. Similarly, you cannot address any Absolute Being casually. While a king might grant you mercy, an Absolute Being would not—or rather, they simply cannot."

  He didn't understand.

"Think of it this way. You looked at the star and blinded yourself. Now, did the star blind you because you looked at it and it felt insulted?" she asked.

"No, the star did nothing. It was—" he stopped.

So that's what she was saying. I get it. The star just exists and shines as brightly as it can. The one who got blinded shouldn't have looked at the star directly. They could have taken precautions. It's the same with Absolute Beings. They just exist. Anyone who wants to address them must take precautions; if not, the result will be deadly.
