“
“One. Two. Three. Four. Five! Five dollars!? That’s a lot of money that you are giving to me mister Earle!”
The young watchmaker said with a shocked look on his face as the receptionist handed him the money. With a gleeful look on his face, the young boy accepted the money and stared up towards his beneficiary.
“Is there anything else that I could do for you in order to gain an extra profit?”
“I already gave you my money so I don’t really want to give you anymore and that was for helping me throw away the trash. But if you really want money then you should befriend that girl.”
Mister Earle pointed his thumb face to face Raelia’s house. The young watchmaker stared at it as if he was someone who lived there considering how frequently that place has appeared in his daily life.
“What would I have to gain from befriending her other than money? And how does befriending her make me rich?”
“That girl Raelia is a pretty interesting girl and she’s a klutz and she isn’t really organized but she has the spirit to make it out int he world and she has the spirit of an innovator and she can do a lot of things that ordinary people can’t do. Whether because these things are impossible for normal people to do or just because they can’t think of it. She really is an innovator. And you have a lot to gain from being around her. Heck if I were a little younger, I wouldn’t be giving you this advice and I’d personally be investing everything that I had into that girl. All my time, my energy and my money to see to it that she makes it big in the world.”
“Uh…”
Was all that the watchmaker could say as he watched Mister Earle continue on and on about the young girl. Never before in his life had he seen someone be so glazed. It was like Raelia had been his God and he had been a priest of the Raelia religion. Though hopefully there doesn’t turn out to be a religion for that. Because that would have been a complete handful.
“So other than that what do you think about my crafts?”
The watchmaker tried to steer the conversation and showed off his ornate watches to the guild receptionist. Mister Earle’s eyes widened in shock as he saw the pure beauty of the watches.
“These are…”
“Yeah. I’ve put a lot of time into these and I think that people would be paying a lot for these.”
“Counterfeits?”
“HUH?! What do you mean by saying that they are counterfeits!? I made them myself so I don’t think that they are counterfeits or anything!”
“I’ve seen some watches like these when I was at the capital once and they were pretty expensive and I’m not going to say that your own watches are in anyway inferior compared to what those guys have sold. But it would be very difficult to get these sold. After all the first assumption when people see watches like your is to assume that they are counterfeit when they are not…”
Mister Earle began biting into his lip out of frustration. Just looking at how incredible the watches were, he couldn’t help but just want to get one of the watches for himself. But at the same time he didn’t want to give any more money to the greedy gremlin of a boy. But at the same time, if he didn’t give him the money the greedy gremlin could have gotten money from someone else and he could have sold the watches for even higher.
“Mister?”
“I’m just thinking… But hypothetically let’s say that you started your own business selling those watches where would you try and set up your business?”
“The capital of course.”
“But that’s where the issue comes. This isn’t the capital but the outer rim and there is practically nothing good here other than good souls trapped to an awful life and there is no real way for people like us from the dirt to successfully sell our products to the elites.”
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
“It’s alright if I don’t get to sell these watches. It’s just what I like doing and it’s alright if I don’t profit much from them or at all because just working on them makes me feel at ease. But I don’t have to start a business in the capital you know?”
“What do you mean?”
“Earlie you mentioned that my goods look like counterfeits and that could be something that I could use to my own advantage. There’s a fair deal of risk attached to something like that since the Mafia is pretty large into counterfeiting directly. And I am not trying to start a gang war or get affiliated with those criminals. But if I lend my “counterfeit” watches out to the well off sons and daughters of our slum’s elites I could make a good deal of money. Though it would be an issue if these people were to sue me so I might need some sort of legal expertise on my side of the things. Not necessarily someone human but so-”
“Where the hell are you son!?”
“Dad! I was just helping out mister Earle!”
“Mister Earle is busy working a the guild! There’s no reason for him to visit someone like you who is so damn lazy and uninterested in being a decent son who doesn’t want to help out the family business!”
“But dad! He was just outside earlier and mom saw him too! I was just showing him my watches and I was talking him about my business ideas to see if we could try and expand our watch making business!”
“Just shut it. You are just making my blood boil just by talking to you. What we are doing for you is putting food on the table and ensuring that it continues to come on the table rather than doing a large leap of fate into the abyss of possibilities. Are you ever grateful for what me and your mother are doing for you! Think of all the people in the world without parents who are starving because they don’t have parents to love them and clothe them!”
“I’m sorry dad…”
‘I just wanted to do something that would try and make you happy…’
—
“Nya! I am surprised that we are going on the same type of quest nya!”
Lilith said as she walked alongside Raelia in the forest. It was just the two of them alone to themselves as Sparkle and Ciel decided to do their own quest which was something that Ciel said that only smart people could do. So Raelia was just left all alone to this succubus seducer…
‘Though it’s kind of odd that she hasn’t really tried anything yet.’
“Yeah. My party kind of just left me to their own sort of training and quest so here I am going out to the forest with you.”
“How do you feel about your party nya?”
“They are good people. Especially Ciel since I knew that she suffered a lot in life and she’s trying to make up for it with her hard work but what do you mean by that nya?”
Raelia asked back with a nya trying to get a more honest response from Lilith.
“It’s not really something that I should be revealing to you nya. But I am going to start a guild nya. It’s a guild for people who like cats nya!”
"That’s cute. I didn’t know you had a guild too.”
“You are pretty popular and famous and if I recruit you into my guild I know that I will be getting a lot of members nya! So how about joining me nya!”
“Maybe I could join it but what is the name of your guild?”
“Nya Nya Nya All Day or just NNYAD for short nya…”
‘That name is just inconvenient to say…’
Raelia thought to herself with an annoyed look on her face while continuing to walk in the forest with Lilith right at her side. Looking to the sides to try and find any herbs or anything that she could place into her golden basket. A golden basket which was previously her golden sword.
“And I’m just curious about something but what happened to your golden sword nya?”
“My golden sword? It’s just that it transformed into this basket here.”
“That kind of just inefficent nya… Don’t you just have a bag or something like that nya? And what if you get into a fight and you have to use your sword nya?”
“Yeah. You actually have a point. I really shouldn’t have done that.”
Raelia thought to herself before closing her eyes and imaging all of the herbs of her basket disappearing into her inventory.
“Well. That’s the herbs taken care of.”
“NYA!? Your herbs are gone nya!?”
Lilith said with a look of pure shock on her face as she turned around and around to try and find where the heck Raelia’s herbs had gone.
“I just used the game’s inventory feature. It’s something that takes a while to explain but it’s something incredible and if you learn how to use it you could save a lot of time and stamina by just storing your items in there.”
“The game has an inventory feature nya?”
“Yeah. Didn’t you know that?”
“Well I didn’t nya. This game didn’t really give us a real tutorial other than that shitty tower where you die a lot and have to fight a giant red slime.”
‘Ah Mnestia.’
“How many times did you die in the tutorial nya?”
“I am actually kind of embarrassed about it but I died once and it’s because I wanted to take on a skeleton archer like I was a movie character. I wanted to catch the arrow and stab him back with the arrow but all that really happened to me was that I got shot with the arrow in the head and I died.”
Lilith chuckled after immediately hearing that before her golden eyes opened wide in shock. If she were hearing things right then Raelia just saying something incredible.
“Wait how many times did you die nya?”
“It’s only once nya…”
Raelia said with a sad look while Lilith’s eyes opened wide in shock.
“Only once!?”
Lilith said so shocked that she forget to nya.
“It took me a dozen deaths to beat the tower and most of the times I died to that red slime nya!? How did you manage to beat the tower!?”
“There’s kind of a secret zone in the tower and a rat showed me it and that’s where I found Ciel and she helped me clear it out. She’s pretty powerful and the same could be said with Mnestia.”
“Ciel-senpai is so cool and badass and sugoi nya! But who is Mnestia nya?”
‘Oh right… people don’t know who Mnestia is.’
“Mnestia was someone in the tower who was kind of trapped there and she was infected by a parasite and she she was losing control of herself everyday. And the only way for her to keep her sanity was to rely upon her best friend in life who was Ciel. And with Ciel around, Mnestia’s infection rate slowed down and even stopped but the more time that she spent around her, Ciel was getting infected so she decided to seal her in the basement of the tower so she wouldn’t get hurt for her.”
“That’s horrible nya! That’s like a horror movie nya! Could you ever survive if you had to like like that with your friends nya!”
“I probably couldn’t and life like that would suck a lot but those two girls are incredible. And even though Mnestia is dead, I feel like she still is with us…”
