Chapter 5

Lin Ze decisively allocated all 5 free attribute points into agility.

He quickly checked his updated combat attributes:

  [Health: 130]

[Physical Attack: 13 (+10 from weapon)]

  [Physical Defense: 13]

  [All Elemental Resistance: 15]

His starting weapon was a basic Scrap Iron Dagger, offering a modest +10 attack bonus:

[Scrap Iron Dagger (Inferior): Gray Quality, Attack +10]

"23 attack power in total—not bad," Lin Ze thought, gripping the dagger comfortably. With the additional 90 damage from Subshadow, his damage potential was formidable from the outset.

Determined, Lin Ze immediately moved toward the outskirts of the town to begin hunting monsters. Killing monsters would provide experience, lifespan, and crucially, Evolution Points to further strengthen his skills.

Many pyers around him were visibly confused and anxious, unsure of the strange new environment they'd entered. Lin Ze ignored their chatter, focusing solely on his goals.

Near the town's edge, a group of five pyers appeared, clearly having just respawned after dying. Their leader was a young woman holding a worn longbow, marking her as a hidden-css Archer.

She spotted Lin Ze and suggested recruiting him. "That guy seems to be another hidden-css pyer. Maybe he'll join us."

One of her teammates approached Lin Ze, offering an invitation. "Hey, want to team up? It's dangerous outside—we've experienced it firsthand."

Lin Ze gnced briefly at the group, then silently shook his head, continuing toward the wilderness.

His rejection caused some annoyance among the group.

"He’s going solo? Is he insane?"

"We couldn't even handle one monster as a team of five."

Their leader, the young woman called Pear, narrowed her eyes thoughtfully. "Let's follow him discreetly. Maybe we'll learn something useful."

Unaware of their intentions, Lin Ze reached the town's border, a decaying wooden fence marking the boundary. Without hesitation, he activated his skill:

  Subshadow!

Instantly, Lin Ze's figure merged into the shadows, disappearing completely from sight, leaving the group trailing him astonished and confused.
