Day 47

When I woke up this morning, I was confused about why I had ordered Ki and the yellow spirits to reconstruct the smokehouse yesterday, despite there being nothing left to smoke. So, I ended up using the building as a cold storage. I cleaned the floor from the smoking traces and engraved some coldseal runes on each side of the walls to cool the inside of the building. It might not be up to par as a cold storage because of the imperfect insulation, but it’s good enough for now to store the surplus cherry tomatoes and dried slimes inside.

Talking about dried slimes, today is the day I first tried the dried slime produced by the slime boxes. It tasted as bland as ever, but if there’s any different, it was not as leathery and easier to chew—although only by a bit. It also took less time to cook in the now-pork-less eternal soup. The current eternal soup—how do I say it—tasted entirely different with no smoked pigs in it. It still tasted alright since there were still the mashed tomatoes and the nuts, but still… there’s no meat in it.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

Food aside, today is also the day I instructed Ki and the yellow spirits to reconstruct the fences surrounding the field using the condensed stone bricks. There was nothing particularly wrong with the fences. I just couldn’t exactly let such reliable workforces and strong bricks lying around uselessly with the old fences being there.

The yellow spirits—they created a lot of condensed stone bricks using the stockpiled rubble the other day. And by a lot, I mean A LOT, as they basically used up all the rubble from all five kilometers of the tunnel digging effort so far. Should I build a one-room-bedroom with those bricks? Or maybe, yeah, why didn’t I think of this before: I can use the bricks to reinforce the tunnel.
