Chapter 69 The Terrifying Game

  Chapter 69: The Terrifying Game

  "Sanbao!"

Wang Wushui shouted, throwing aside his Nine-Section Broadsword. From his waist pouch, he summoned a long sword, all snow-white in color— the *Gcial Snow Sword*.

The sword emitted a high-pitched hum as it sliced through the air and fell into his hand. Wang Wushui formed a sword seal with his fingers, unleashing spiritual power, causing the atmosphere around him to suddenly surge.

His sleeves billowed, his robe fluttered, and every ounce of spiritual energy he possessed poured into the *Gcial Snow Sword*, which erupted with blinding white light.

He took a swift step toward Boss Zhang, his attack as fast as wind. The sword fshed, severing Zhang's arm cleanly at the shoulder, and blood sprayed out.

"You lied to me!!!" Boss Zhang's eyes turned bloodshot, and he let out a beast-like howl. Ignoring the pain of his severed arm, he howled and lunged at Sanbao again.

Wang Wushui snorted coldly, performing a spinning kick that nded squarely on Boss Zhang's face. Zhang was sent flying backward, crashing into the wall of the restaurant with a loud thud, dust flying everywhere.

This time, he did not get up again.

Sanbao weakly leaned against the corner of the wall, panting heavily. She looked up at Wang Wushui, a faint smile tugging at her lips.

"I knew it was you… Wang Suifeng."

Her tone held a hint of mockery, "Wang Wushui, Wang Wushui... if you remove the three dots from 'Wang', what do you get? 'Wang Suifeng', right?"

Wang Suifeng sheathed the *Gcial Snow Sword*, a helpless smile spreading across his face, tinged with a hint of apology. He quickly approached her, concern in his voice, "Are you alright? Are you injured? We should leave here first, I’ll take you to the Medicine Valley branch in the capital for treatment."

Sanbao wiped the blood from her mouth, coughed a few times, and shook her head.

"No need!" She gnced around, her expression solemn. "Do you think we can still leave?"

As soon as her words fell, the surroundings immediately began to change.

The walls of the restaurant started to peel and crack, the metallic stench of blood and the oily fumes vanishing into the air. The broken tables, the corpses of the guards, scattered food, and the lifeless body of Boss Zhang disappeared.

Sanbao and Wang Suifeng found themselves standing in a dipidated cssroom.

The floor was littered with shattered tiles, the walls broken, and the windows on both sides long rotten and shattered. Wind whistled through the cracks, emitting a ghostly wail.

Sanbao looked down, her heart sinking.

Wang Weiyang's body y motionless on the floor, his head and body separated, blood still fresh, not yet dried. His body had not disappeared with the illusion.

  He was truly dead!

Wang Suifeng was silent for a moment, his voice grave. "It seems this is the fate of those who fail the trial."

Sanbao sighed, her eyes filled with sadness and helplessness.

"That ghost left his body here intentionally. It’s to show us that if you die in the trial, you really die— you will never come back."

  "Indeed."

A cold, sharp voice suddenly echoed from all directions, as if coming from the heavens or from the depths of the earth.

"You are quite clever. Perhaps you will be the first to pass my trial."

The voice was mocking, yet filled with excitement, like a predator that had been hungry for too long, finally catching sight of fresh prey.

"Welcome to my trial. You know the rules. Now, please head to the next cssroom to begin the next trial."

Wang Suifeng turned to Sanbao, subtly signaling her to run as soon as they stepped outside.

"Ke ke ke ke..." The sharp voice suddenly let out an eerie ugh, "You want to run? Unfortunately, if you try to escape in the middle, the trial will be deemed a failure."

Sanbao’s heart sank as she remembered what Wang Weiyang had said earlier, that some people had managed to escape from Wang Zuo Academy, only to mysteriously die a few days ter, with no exceptions. It turned out that they had tried to flee during the brief pause between trials.

She slowly turned to face Wang Suifeng, her eyes determined yet complex.

"Our past grievances can wait. Now, we must unite and face these trials together. Let's fight to survive!"

"Ke ke ke ke..." The sharp voice echoed eerily throughout the academy.

"Yes, as long as you survive... survive..."
