149. Blood Scroll (Book Two)

“Have either of you met Vampires before?”

  “No Patriarch.”

  “No Patriarch.”

“I see. What about Infernals as a whole, is there any particular stance that Infernals take regarding them?”

“Actually Patriarch, I don’t think we’ve ever heard of Vampires. “

“…I think the Patriarch means Vhampryls Frian. Right Patriarch?”

Hmm, maybe they have different names.

  “Describe these…Vhampryls for me Lirian.”

“I have never met one, but they are known to both consume and cultivate using blood.”

“Hm, and how do Infernals view them?”

“The same as everyone else Patriarch. Indifference.”

“I see. Thanks for the information.”

Indifference eh…well that’s nice to know.

It didn’t take very long to make our way to the conference room, and as always as of late, four members of the Ash Guard stayed outside while one of them entered the building.

Lirian and Frian of course posted themselves at the doorway while I entered the conference room.

What greeted me were three individuals. Two of them had jet black hair that reached their shoulders, while third had dull red hair that was tied into a neat bun. Two men and one woman. She was the one who greeted me.

“Ah Patriarch Raizen. I am pleased to finally meet your acquaintance, and it is with great pleasure than I am here as representatives of the Blood Lords, all of whom sends their…warmest regards.”

Hm. So another faction who knows who I really am. That makes two now.

“It’s nice to meet you as well. Please sit.”

I just kind of realized there would be no tea at this meeting since the old man was sleeping. A shame.

Now that I think about it I wonder if vampires drink tea. As a people we thought up so many different myths and ideas about how vampires worked that any one of them or even barely any of them could be true.

“It is not lost on us the urgency we placed on meeting us at this time, and it is duly acknowledged and appreciated that you have made an effort to do so.

“Though in an effort to not waste any more of your valuable time, I will relay the will of our Reverend Blood Lords.”

After saying that the woman stood up from the desk and with the two silent men behind her, knelt down to the ground in one smooth motion and then proceeded to lower their heads till it touched the floor.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

From there blood began to pool beneath their lowered foreheads.

I didn’t know if I was more weirded out or interested in seeing the result of all this.

A few seconds passed as the pooled blood which never left the periphery of their bodies began to combine before it quite literally grew into a large blob in the room.

Any other situation and I would likely be ready to fight, but the woman who had been doing the speaking was in the Nascent Realm.

If she wanted me dead then I would have no ability to fight back. Even the assumption I once made about being able to do something to that one Mavelia Merchant Union guy from a while back was inherently foolish.

Something Elder Zal made sure I realized.

Anyway, the blob continued to grow before suddenly twisting and turning until it began to reshape itself.

From an oddly shaped blob of blood, to what appears to be a massive scroll.

  Huh.

All of this for a scroll.

Anyway, the scroll quickly unfurled itself and instead of the words I expected to see, a voice began to sound in the room. I could almost sense the regality it contained.

“I, Blood Knight Celgore, Loyal Servant of The Second Reverend Blood Lord greet thee.

“With the power vested in me I present the following.

“Galaxy Red715Z is now henceforth Your property.

“Galaxy Red716Z is now henceforth Your property.

“Galaxy Red717Z is now henceforth Your property.

“All three Galaxies are located un Universe Red71.

“All three Galaxies have exactly four Planets each and are rich with life and various resources.

“Red71 contains two more Galaxies and both of whom can also be included along with the ownership of the Universe should you desire. There would be no need for a negotiation.

“All that would be asked of you in return is to relinquish ownership of the Planet you now reside on. Luxurious travel means and anything else you might desire to fulfill this transaction can also be arranged. That ends the current terms. What is your response Patriarch Raizen.”

Honestly I didn’t need to think about this too deeply. I can barely understand the scope of the current Planet that I’m on, yet I’m now being offered the ownership of an entire Universe and the galaxies within? Just how many countries and cultures is that? Just how many people? Hundreds of trillions? What even comes after trillion? Quintillion?

Plus, I was born here. This is the only home I’ve known. Yeah the countries I once knew are gone and the buildings I once traversed vanished.

Even my parents graves are no more.

But this is where I was born, and this is where my parents were buried.

I don’t think I’ll be leaving. At least not permanently.

Yeah this is a very easy answer.

“I appreciate the offer, but the answer is no.”

What followed my response was a few moments of silence as the massive blood scroll continued to float ominously in my conference room.

“…What is the reason for this rejection?”

“I like Earth a lot, this is my home, and I have no plans to leave.”Top of Form

Yeah, I think that’s a good enough reason.

Doesn’t appear they’re happy about it though.

With all of this lingering silence every time I talk.

“…Am I assume this decision of yours is final, Patriarch Raizen?”

  “Please do.”

“…I see. I will relay your words to The Second Reverend Blood Lord.”

And with the scroll simply vanished before my eyes. I don’t know if I was expecting it to roll back up and jut reverse the whole process, but I really didn’t expect it to just vanish.

What I then didn’t expect, is for the two men who came with the dull red haired woman to then shrivel up and die in my conference room.

The woman then stood up, calmly collected their bodies in a spatial device of some sort, and all the remaining blood.

She bowed once and then vanished.

  Hm.

  I’m genuinely confused.

First they insist on meeting now in the middle of the night.

They did this weird blood scroll summoning ritual. And led to this massive scroll of blood appearing in the room and then a voice came out of it offering me ownership of an entire universe in exchange for me giving up ownership of Earth.

I said no. Both men shriveled up and died then the lady vanished without even a word of goodbye.

I’m definitely confused by their actions, but I’m not confused enough to not see that this could mean trouble. If they were willing to give me all of that just for this Planet, then they clearly want it very badly.

Now with that fact I said no, it’s probably not a good idea to assume that they will just leave it alone just because of that.

  Hm.

Is this the type of conflict Elder Zal mentioned that will eventually find me?
