EXTRA 5: What was different

Key Differences for Lucien and His Family in the Current Timeline

  1. In the previous timeline, Lucien was never meant to become the head of the family this early. In the current timeline, Diego’s early death forced this change. Diego died earlier for reasons that will be revealed later.

  2. In the previous timeline, Stellar Mountain was never attacked by mercenaries. Because that incident did not happen, Lucien never confronted them, Ryan was never abducted, and Lucien never believed his family was under external threat. As a result, he never began the large campaign he launched this time.

  3. Since Ryan was not abducted in the previous timeline, the Sinclair family paid no attention to the outside world. They held no meetings, made no plans, and had no coordination with tribes or anyone else, nor did they intend to.

  4. In the previous timeline, Lucien never destroyed the mining camp or Lotus’s illegal facility. Both continued operating without interruption. In the current timeline, Lucien has unknowingly removed a future problem.

  5. In the current timeline, Lucien has only opened his father’s letter. In the previous timeline, he opened his father’s letter very late and never opened his mother’s letter.

  6. He chose differently between the two given artifacts.

What Is Different with the Tribes, the Skull Knight, and Others in This Timeline

  1. Kael Harrington and the Skull Knight had nothing to do with Stellar Mountain or the Sinclairs in the previous timeline. They were never hired for that job, and they never came on their own. Kael had his own importance in the previous timeline, but he can never fulfill it now, as he is dead in the current timeline at Max’s hands. His death has created more problems for the Skull Knight and has drawn attention from them.

  2. Shalkas never met the mercenaries in the previous timeline and never received any offer from them. He also never met Max or Ryan and never fought them. If things had continued normally, he would have left Stellar Mountain on his own. The only reason he stayed this time was the mercenary offer and his desire to reach the Devil Forest. One of Shalkas’s major abilities is body-swapping or soul-switching under certain conditions. He uses it to possess other bodies, mainly dead ones, as vessels. Even if one vessel is destroyed, he can simply awaken in another. Even if his real body dies, he can continue by moving into any of the vessels he has prepared.

  3. The tribes, although not targeted by mercenaries, would have faced the same fate in the previous timeline because of Shalkas. When he left to pursue his greater goal, he would have killed most of the tribes for ritual purposes and to use them as vessels. Whatever remained, he would have handed over to the mining camp and the facility as part of a deal to acquire certain artifacts. Even then, he would have betrayed them to perform a summoning ritual for a greater devil, which would have caused massive damage to the mining camp and the facilities.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

  4. Arika would have been sold off as a slave and forced into servitude in several places, eventually leading her north in the first timeline.

  5. Eisen would have still been bound by his contract and forced to confront enemies until he died. His body would then have been kept as one of Shalkas’s emergency vessels, and after that, Shalkas would have left without doing anything to the Sinclairs.

What Is Different with Ryan’s Heroism

  1. Since Ryan was never abducted in the previous timeline, he never had the chance to act like the heroes he read about in his novels.

  2. The slum area would have been completely destroyed by monsters, causing massive deaths. The paladins would have arrived far too late, and even then, they would not have been able to stop the disaster. The heroes would have been occupied with other matters.

  3. Luna would have survived, but her fate would have been much harsher because of the involvement of two different groups.

  4. The church would have been able to establish their narrative much more effectively, as they intended to. This whole staged situation would have brought a lot of benefits to them. Cedric and his group would have been occupied elsewhere, and he would have faced heavy backlash from the nobles. The Saint’s position would have gained more power. The bishop would still have requested Autumn, the monster, and Lotus would have been willing to lend its Key to him. Since Lucien did not destroy the facilities in the previous timeline, the Key would not have been fully destroyed, allowing the bishop to gain what he wanted.

  5. Liam would not have read about Ryan’s work and would never have gotten the idea for the Red Cape persona. Instead of becoming Red Cape and a corrupt officer, he would have remained simply a good officer. The Red Cape identity exists only in the current timeline.

What Is Different with the Ghost Town Events

  1. Noburu and his group would have succeeded in their plan effortlessly in the previous timeline. Cedric’s companions would have been killed and tortured to enrage him, since Cedric was not with them at that time. In that timeline, Cedric had only one clash with the Beast King during a different event and lost. All of this pushed Cedric to form a new party—the same party the Violet King later killed in the previous timeline.

  2. In the current timeline, Noburu failed mainly because of the Sinclairs and Shalkas. Shalkas originally had nothing to do with Noburu’s plan, but after fighting the Sinclairs in the current timeline, he contacted his disciple for help. That disciple informed him about Noburu’s ritual. Shalkas then used that information for his own purposes. If Noburu had succeeded, his threat level would have been much higher and known throughout the entire empire.

  3. Cedric is a regressor, as already known, and unlike in the previous timeline, his power level in the current timeline has increased drastically compared to his former self. He is stronger, more focused, and has acquired new weapons and techniques. He is planning more moves and is already 100% stronger than his previous timeline peak, with his growth still continuing.

  What Is Different in Pipra

  1. Emily and Jim would never have met Lucien or the Sinclair family. More about them will be revealed in the future.

  2. The Weaver Club would not have come to Pipra in this timeline. They only arrived because of Jessica’s manipulation of the news.

  3. No task force would have been formed, as there was no pressure from higher authorities. Liam and the local officers would have had to deal with the serial killer on their own, as in the previous timeline.
