Day 4, The Next Step [Reader Poll]

Staring at his own reflection in the dark mirror, Mark fumed. This wasn’t funny anymore, and he refused to accept that it was more than some game to a deranged lab employee. Maybe Mark wasn’t the only target, maybe the whole lab was some sort of stress testing facility. Well, they were about to find out how he performed under this kind of stress.

But first, he had to decide exactly how he would perform. Mark considered his options. He didn’t have to take this, he was a decorated vet. He’d pursued armed and dangerous combatants through war zones, he could pursue a punk through a lab. Or he could just beat some answers out of one of the lab techs, literally if necessary.

And there was always the "nuclear" option. Mark didn't need this job. He was only here to pass the time, maybe make some friends and some money. He hadn’t signed up to be an experiment, he had signed up to protect the experiments. He could simply walk away, and leave them with one less target to taunt.
