Many months have passed since we had to start working,
I grinned and looked at my guild plate
I looked at my Pumpkin Head who was now Rank 12. Sadly the lack of Spirit and Plant spirits beasts made it hard for my Pumpkin Head to actually gain skills.
Rohnen's Thunderous Gorilla Ape has reached Rank 15, and in addition to his Berserk Mode skill, he has the skill Discharge Electricity from when we defeated a creature called a Bolt Escargot.
Vadela on the other hand has gotten her Frost Hatchling up to rank 11, it started to grow feathers and rank up from a Hatchling to a Frost Chick. In addition to her Frost Touch ability, it gained the ability Snow Storm.
"Welcome back Vadela, Rohnen, Vale, how was the subjugation quest this time" The guild receptionist, whose name was Sheila, asked and Rohnen called out, "It was great, we got rid of the Timber Wolves rather quickly."
"This is great progress, who knows, maybe you children are prodigies" Sheila said.
"Whats the next available quest, we have time for one more" Rohnen asked and Sheila took a paper from the counter and gave it to him.
"I saved this just for you guys" Sheila winked and she turned to go help another customer while we decided to take the quest or not.
"A Rainbow Bell-Rose? Anyone know what it is?" Rohnen asked and Vadela said that she did.
"Its like a bell shaped flower, with roses all over it, the stem is under the bell so it protects itself. IT's actually difficult to tame one of them or so I heard"
"Let us go and tame one, let us not take this job till we actually acquire one though" I said cautiously.
"Good idea, We can ask Sheila to hold it for us." Rohnen grinned and he waved for Sheila to come over.
"We have decided to hold onto the quest for now, do you have any other suggestions?"
"If you're not going to take the Bell-Rose quest I can certainly hold onto it for you, not many people are actually willing to go tame this beast since all it does is grow flowers and as difficult it is to tame, its as equally difficult to train. For another quest I suggest taking a taming mission, it gives you experience on taming and lets you go find creatures you may want to tame" Sheila said and she held up three commissions that people had put up.
"Should we go and grab the birds, they should be easy to find if their in the forest" I suggested, Vadela agreed, since her Frost Chick could find a compatible beast to learn another skill from. Rohnen was alright with it since it could be a valuable experience on his part.
I was elated maybe I could tame another creature of the bird category, plants were cool but they could only get me so far.
We huddled together to discuss a game plan. The Ash Crane wuld have fire abilities, making my Pumpkin Head unable to combat it, The Shrill Shrike would counter Rohnen's Thunderous Gorilla Ape The Eastern Marsh Warbler could control water, which made it able to counter Vadela's Frost Chick.
I would take the Shrill Shrike, Vadela the Ash Crane and Rohnen the Eastern Marsh Warbler.
"Alright guys, let's get the birds back and meet the quota for this month" Rohnen cheered and Vadela and I cheered with him.
We all ran out of the door, heading toward the forest where the birds would most likely be at.
At the forest we separated to cover more grounds. After that we searched for hours.
I checked a bush for the third time that evening, mud and dirt covered my body head to toe, my Pumpkin Head using it's spirit energy to create an illusion circle. Many spirit beasts had wandered into my area, from Flare Squirrels to Spike Armor Raccoons and an occasional bird or two, yet no Shrill Shrike came in.
I waited in a tree, hoping any creature of a spirit or plant attribute would wander in but as mentioned before they were quite scarce.
I heard a chatter and I turned to look to see two monkeys with green fur.
"Nimble Moss Monkeys" I whispered to myself. I remembered one of requests asking for one of the little guys. As it was a Plant-Beast it fitted under one of my taming specialties.
Based on what Sheila taught me since I had a Spirit-Plant as my Spirit Beast then I had more of an affinity to Spirit and Plant Type which meant I could tame them easier. Sure I could tame other beasts, but I could bring out more potential in the spirit beasts that I had an affinity too.
"Fear Gas" I commanded my pumpkin and he let out a fog. The monkeys ran around in fear and we, my pumpkin and I, knocked them out. I initiated a contract with each of the monkeys, as both of them were unconscious and their mind was in a state of fear they both accepted easily.
Level 9 Speed Jester Nimble Moss Monkey, Level 13 Strength Knight Nimble Moss Monkey.
Jester Class were jokers, they psyched out their opponents with tricks, they gain an increase to speed and mind type abilities yet a debuff to Offensive power. As for Knight Class they gained a buff to their Offensive and Defense prowess yet their speed goes down considerably.
As soon as the contracts were settled one of the monkeys spoke in my mind. "Release us please, we must help her"
"Help who?"
"She is in danger, we must protect her" It exclaimed, it tried to get up but it's body won't listen to it.
"Tell me who you have to help and then I will based on who it is" I tried to reason with them.
"No time we must....." It started to say when shrill cry broke the silence of the forest.
"Danger, we must go now" The monkey roared and to the best of it's ability it charged toward the location of the scream.
I ignored all pretense and charged after it.
"Who could possibly be in danger?"
