Chapter 39: Difficult to Put Together
Jin Hu walked down the stairs with a half-burned cigarette butt pinched between his two fingers. He looked around and saw that Evan hadn't come down yet. Jin Hu punched the sandbag beside him twice, the two handguns on his body were already equipped with silencers, and he had carefully wiped them clean to ensure there were no fingerprints on either of them.
Evan came out of the door upstairs and said to Jinhu and Mike, "Brian! Mike, let's go." After finishing, he walked down from the stairs with small steps, looking very good. Jinhu's mood has been very good since hearing the news in the afternoon.
Ivan got into the driver's seat, Jinhu opened the rear door, and Mike sat in the front passenger seat. Ivan turned the steering wheel and the old Toyota sped out of the factory.
The car headed towards the destination, perhaps because of the smooth work in the past few days, Mack turned on the radio to listen to the station. A fierce music came from the radio.
Jin Hu listened for a while and asked the two in front of him: "What song is this?" The music was nice, matching Jin Hu's taste.
Mike listened to Jinhu's words and turned his head, saying: "Brian, don't you even know this? Lincoln Park's 'What I've Done'" He then turned up the volume very loud.
Jin Hu listened to the music on the radio, and Mike seemed very familiar with this song, humming along softly. Jin Hu lit a cigarette for himself, and as he listened to the music, he gazed out the window at the colorful cityscape in the distance, shrouded in a hazy glow. He looked at the horizon of the city outside the car, then reached into his pocket and pulled out a black leather glove, putting it on both hands. A gun had already appeared in his hand, placed casually beside him on the seat, its muzzle pointing directly at the passenger seat.
An old Toyota carrying three people sped down the road to the sound of loud music, until only the headlights on the front of the car could illuminate the dark road ahead.
After half an hour, a bright light appeared in front of the car. Evan turned off the radio and drove into the light. He slowed down the speed, and on the small town's road, there were only a few scattered pedestrians. The weather had cooled down, and there were fewer people coming to the seaside. Evan stopped the car by the side of the road.
When the car stopped, Jin Hu pushed open the door and stood by the road, looking at a house not far away. It was a beautiful villa, with steel structure and concrete pillars, all made of floor-to-ceiling glass. The lights were off in several nearby villas, probably because the rich people had returned after their vacation, only the target building still had its lights on. This damn FBI is really wealthy, Jin Hu cursed silently before walking towards the villa.
"Bryan" Evan shouted at Jinhu, who stopped in his tracks. Evan pulled out a bottle of wine from the car and handed it to Jinhu, taking another one for himself. He poured some wine on his body and patted it dry, then did the same to Mike's body. Jinhu imitated Evan, rubbing some wine on his own body. With one arm around Mike and the other holding the bottle, Evan walked forward, singing a song in a stuttering tone. Jinhu followed behind them, occasionally taking a swig of wine.
Three people arrived at the beach, Evan and Mike started singing loudly, after a while someone poked his head out of a nearby house and shouted at the three: "What are you yelling about, three drunkards!"
"Get out of here!" Ivan pushed Mack to one side, unfastened his own belt and shook his little brother at the man, shouting loudly.
Jin Hu saw the curtains on the first floor of the target building being pulled open, a woman in her late 20s was staring at Jin Hu and his three drunk friends. Evan, who had just finished adjusting his belt, shouted loudly at the woman by the window: "Hey! Beauty! No matter how you look at me, I won't fall in love with you!"
The woman inside raised her middle finger at Evan and Jinhu, then pulled up the curtain. Mike picked up Evan again, with Jinhu following behind, drinking and staggering towards the house.
Arriving at the door, Evan starts pressing the doorbell, while Mike is constantly "persuading" Evan, then being pushed away by Evan, who presses the doorbell again and knocks on the door.
The door opened with a bang, and the woman from earlier stood at the entrance, her arms crossed as she gazed at Evan. Evan was caught off guard by the sudden opening of the door and stumbled backwards into the room before grabbing onto the doorframe to steady himself: "Hey! Beautiful!" After speaking, he leaned against the door and let out a mouthful of alcohol fumes, his hidden hand signaling to Jin Hu that there were several people inside and where they were positioned.
"Sorry, my friend is a bit drunk," he said and was about to go over to support Evan when his body brushed against the woman's. Suddenly, he hugged her tightly, holding her in place. At the same time, Jinhu and Evan rushed into the house, saw the figure, and Jinhu opened fire with the gun in his hand. Evan also aimed at the target with his gun and fired a shot.
After Jin Hu fired two shots, he saw Mike stunned and immediately pulled the woman and Mike into the house together, closing the door. A rookie is a rookie, not to mention knowing that Mike was an undercover agent, even if they didn't know this time, they still figured out more than half of it. They said they had killed people before, but this performance really made Jin Hu shake his head. No wonder Evan said that some things in the FBI were already ingrained in their bones.
He was dragged into the door by Jin Hu, and Mai Ke reacted and said to Jin Hu: "Your speed is really fast" trying to use this sentence to cover up his surprise just now.
Ivan nodded at Jinhu, then pulled the woman away from Mike's cup. Jinhu walked to the edge of the sofa and looked at the three people. One person was covering his chest and panting, looking like he didn't have much time left. Jinhu didn't give him another shot. He snapped his fingers at Ivan, who dragged the woman into the living room. He tied the FBI agent's hands behind her back with plastic ties and pressed her onto the sofa.
Evan pulled out a knife from his body and handed it to Mike: "The rest is up to you" After finishing, he patted Mike's shoulder and stood aside.
Jin Hu was holding a gun in one hand, standing at the entrance, watching to see what Mike would do. What made Jin Hu's eyes widen in shock was that Mike turned his head and looked at Evan and Jin Hu who were standing at the door staring at him, and without any hesitation, he slit the FBI agent's throat with his knife. This was definitely not something that Quantico taught. Evan glanced at Mike, probably also not expecting him to be so decisive, and smiled: "Let's go! We'll drive back!" He said, leading Mike out in front, while Jin Hu followed behind them, gun still in hand.
They arrived at the garage, and Jin Hu saw a Ferrari quietly parked in front of him. Evan walked towards the garage door, stroking the car with his hand, and when he reached the rearview mirror, he touched it twice with his hand. Suddenly, he turned around and smiled at Mike, saying: "It's really beautiful!" Looking at Mike nodding, he said: "We're all crazy, right?" After finishing speaking, he laughed twice, patted Mike on the back, took out the key from a nearby bowl, and threw it to Jin Hu: "Brian, you drive!" After walking two steps, he pressed the button of the roller shutter door. Jin Hu had already opened the car door, got in, and started the engine.
Two cars drove out of the small town, one in front and one behind. The headlights on Jinhu's car illuminated the road ahead, just enough to see Evan and Mike's heads. After driving for about ten minutes, Jinhu saw Evan pull out a gun and shoot Mike in the head. He then pulled over to the side of the road, stuck his head out for a moment, closed the door, and the car drove automatically into the river.
Aidan got on the car, Jin Hu stepped on the accelerator and the two people headed towards the suburbs. After about three minutes, a loud explosion came from behind.
After sitting in the car for a while, Evan said to Jinhu: "Brian! Open the convertible top, it's still open with this weather, and it's getting a bit chilly."
Jin Hu smiled and raised the hood, with the engine sound inside the hood much smaller.
"Suddenly someone disappeared, I guess trouble is coming." Jin Hu asked Evan, this Mai Ke suddenly disappeared, he was determined to investigate, just to show them some color, but who are they, Jin Hu still doesn't know.
Yiwen smiled and said to Jinhu: "This assistant director has a bad brain, something that others dare not touch for decades, he dares to stretch out his hand to touch it as soon as he takes office! Moreover, it's a very secret thing, even our internal friends don't know about it." After finishing speaking, he smiled at Jinhu: "Don't worry, this time our friend dares to say so, he must be able to handle the aftermath!"
Jin Hu listened to Ai Wen's words and said: "Alright, as soon as I have work, I'll have income."
Evan smiled and said to Jinhu: "Brian, I have a few suggestions for you. If you lead a knight team in the future, pay attention to these points. First, always ensure your personal cleanliness, not just for personal image, but also because clean clothes make people look more reliable! Second, maintain an appropriate distance with your teammates, neither too far nor too close. Too far and they'll feel estranged, which isn't good for team stability. Too close and they might not take your orders seriously. You need to grasp this distance well. Third, learn to listen to others' opinions, sometimes others may have better ideas. And one more thing you've already mastered is to cherish the lives of your teammates. When things are done with minimal losses, your people will trust you more and more. This is better than any promise. Use your brain to think about problems, and when you can't think of a solution, try standing in the opponent's shoes. This time, your suggestion to put Mike on our team was great, and I used the third point by listening to your opinion."
Jin Hu listened to what Aiven said and replied, "Thanks! But let's talk about wearing clothes after I lead a knight team." Jin Hu remembered Aiven's words and planned to think about it again when he went back at night.
After Jin Hu finished speaking, Evan leaned back in his seat and looked out the window.
The car drove to an intersection, where Jin Hu stopped the car and handed it over to a young man. He then followed Evan and got into Evan's car. The two of them drove towards the factory.
As soon as the two drove the car into the house, Jinmu threw a can of beer over, and Jintiger caught it and put it on Aiven's car seat. He lit a cigarette and took a puff.
"Has that son of a bitch been taken care of?" Bernie asked Jinhu.
Jin Hu nodded: "Aiven has already taken care of him, I reckon the police will need a few months to piece him together!"
At this time, Eve walked over and handed Evan a few sheets of paper: "Passed on by our friends".
Ivan glanced over and said to Jinhu who was opening a beer: "Brian! Come with me for a second!"
Jin Hu took a sip of beer: "Thanks, buddies" and followed Evan upstairs with the can in hand.
