Gone Beserk

As Jason stepped out of the lab, he was flanked by his 10 servants, who fell into step beside him as he made his way to the dinner table. His parents, Owen and Elizabeth Burn, were already seated, their faces lit by the warm glow of the candelabras.

"Good evening, Jason," his mother said, smiling as he took his seat beside her. "I trust you're doing well?"

"I am, Mother," Jason replied, nodding as one of the servants poured him a glass of wine. "And you?"

"We're doing well, thank you for asking," his mother replied. "Although I did hear that your father is planning a trip. Do you know anything about it?"

Jason's gaze drifted to Matilda, one of his personal maids, who was standing discreetly by the door. He caught her eye and raised an eyebrow, asking silently about any recent news.

"Master Jason, I did overhear something interesting earlier today," Matilda said, her voice low. "Your father seems to be preparing for a trip, but he hasn't said where he's going."

Jason's interest was piqued. "That's strange," he said. "I wonder where he could be going."

His mother leaned in, her voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "I'm sure it's just business, dear. Your father is always traveling for work."

Jason nodded, but his mind was already racing with possibilities.

As they finished dinner, Jason's mother turned to him with a smile. "Jason, I was thinking of visiting my father's estate in the country tomorrow. Would you like to accompany me?"

Jason hesitated for a moment before nodding. "I'd love to, Mother. I'll bring three of my maids and my bodyguards will join your entourage."

As they prepared to leave, one of the bodyguards approached Jason. "Excuse me, sir," he said. "Who are these... men?"

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

Jason followed the bodyguard's gaze to the clones, who were standing discreetly behind him. "They're my personal bodyguards," Jason replied, his tone firm. "I've hired them to provide extra security."

The bodyguard raised an eyebrow. "I wasn't aware that you had hired any new staff, sir."

Jason's mother leaned in, her voice taking on a concerned tone. "Jason, dear, I don't think that's necessary. We already have plenty of security."

Jason stood firm. "I'm an adult now, Mother. I can take care of myself."

The argument that ensued was brief but intense, with Jason's mother calling his father to inform him of the fight. But Owen Burn was dismissive, thinking that Jason had simply used his allowance to hire more security.

"It's fine, Elizabeth," Owen said. "Jason is just being cautious. Let him have his way."

As they arrived at the country estate, Jason's mind turned to more practical matters. Using the stolen money, he began buying up huge plots of land, eventually purchasing a sprawling estate worth $30,000,000.

As he walked the land, Jason's clones followed discreetly behind him, their eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of danger. Jason began sketching out blueprints for a grand mansion, his mind racing with possibilities.

But as the day wore on, Jason's clones picked up on a disturbing development. One of the bodyguards, a man known only by his alias "Berserk," had his eyes on Matilda, and Jason's clones discovered that he had been making romantic overtures towards her.

"Berserk, what are you doing?" one of the clones asked, using "camouflage" to remain hidden.

Berserk turned, his eyes narrowing. "Mind your own business," he growled.

But the clone persisted. "You're not supposed to approach the personal maids of the Burn family," he said. "It's against the rules."

Berserk sneered. "Rules are meant to be broken," he said. "And I'll do whatever it takes to get what I want."

The clone's eyes flicked to Matilda, who was standing frozen in fear. "You're not going to get away with this, Berserk," the clone said.

Berserk's face twisted in a snarl. "We'll see about that," he said, pulling out a small device from his pocket.

The clone reacted instantly, using "dispel" to create a protective shield around Matilda and himself. But Berserk was relentless, using the device to cause a massive explosion that sent Matilda flying.

The clone leapt into action, using his enhanced strength to grab Matilda and pull her to safety. As the smoke cleared, Berserk was nowhere to be seen, but the clone knew that this was far from over.

"Matilda, are you okay?" the clone asked, his voice low and urgent.

Matilda nodded, her eyes wide with fear.
