Chapter 107: Friendship
What is friendship? Some people would say it's about using each other at critical moments.
What is an idol? Some fans would say that an idol is someone who, as long as they give me a glance of attention, gives me the courage to shoot and kill the President of the United States.
What is a fan? A qualified fan has two criteria: first, the idol I worship is the greatest existence in the universe, and what she says and does is the only standard of truth; second, if the idol makes a mistake, please refer to the first criterion!
Natalie Herschler, Ryan Jenkins' only good friend; Natalie Portman, Lu Ming's favorite movie star, no exception.
Good friend or idol, Ryan had long been unclear, although her status in his heart was far less important than Nicole Kidman, but she would not let anyone hurt her at all.
Just as the Polish youth swung his fist, Natalie was shocked into silence. Ryan took a swift step forward and rushed between the two of them.
Ralph Fiennes felt a gust of wind pass by his side, and the young man had already approached the Pole.
At this critical moment, Ryan's long-term persistence in training and the simple striking techniques he learned from George came into play.
He grabbed the Pole's arm, twisted his waist and turned around, using the opponent's rushing force to throw this guy to the ground with all his might.
After the dull thud of "Boom", amidst the flying sand and dust, the Polish youth lay wailing on the gravel.
"Come on, Nate!"
Both sides were slightly stunned, Ryan pulled up Natalie's arm and quickly ran towards his own side. The previous back slam had almost exhausted his strength, if the other side came again, it was absolutely not something that his five-foot-five-inch small body could withstand.
"Seize him, seize this murderer, don't let him get away."
Behind them came Polish voices, which Ryan couldn't understand, but he could roughly guess what they were shouting.
"Hurry up, hurry up, protect Ryan and Nate!"
Ryan's good relationship with the crew and Natalie's Jewish identity played a role, and many people in the crew also came forward.
At this time, the scene was filled with dense footsteps, as there were thousands of Jewish people gathered here, probably having heard that an anti-Semitic incident had occurred, and they all rushed out.
"Nate, come quick." Entering his own camp, Ryan pulled the girl up without saying a word and prepared to run towards the scene.
"No, I want to stand with my fellow countrymen."
Jewish clannishness is legendary and although Natalie had thoroughly Americanized herself, some traditions aren't that easy to eradicate.
"Darling, don't you understand?" Ryan was really fed up, she became stubborn and didn't yield to him, "The two of us are now the laughing stock, staying here will only make those guys even more excited..."
"What's going on here?" Steven Spielberg finally arrived and first encountered the two people who had drilled into the back of the crowd.
"What's going on, dear?" But it wasn't just Nicole, this would also bring George and Mrs. Sherry over.
"That's how it is..."
Ryan recounted the events in the simplest language, without any concealment. It's worth noting that Spielberg was standing next to members of the American Jewish Association, who should have a way to settle this small matter.
"You two!" Nikki and Mrs. Shelly both stared with wide eyes.
How fanatical these racists are, how could they not be aware that if these two children...
They don't care if you're a big star, a millionaire, or a minor!
"Hand over the murderer! Hand over the murderer! Jews out! Jews get out of our place!"
Outside, some Poles probably understood some English, and they started shouting collectively again, with the sound waves rising higher and higher.
"Nikki, get Ryan and Nate out of here, we'll take care of the rest." Spielberg rubbed his temples, clearly getting a headache from all this.
However, he couldn't say much, after all, what the two of them did was to maintain the reputation of the Jews, it's just that their methods were not quite right.
"Ryan, I thought you were done with your shoot, didn't you?" Nicole clutched his hand tightly, as if afraid he'd vanish, "Come back to LA with me tomorrow."
"But..." He was about to make excuses, but Nicole cut him off, "No ifs or buts, you're not allowed out of the house when we get back."
"Sorry, Nicole." Natalie came around from her mother's other side. "This is all my fault, Ryan was just trying to protect me."
As he spoke, he looked at his good friend and felt truly fortunate to have such a friend.
"It's okay, Natalie. Even if you weren't here, this little rascal would still cause trouble all the time." Although Nicole said so, her gaze towards Natalie was no longer as gentle as before.
What a great injustice! Ryan wanted to cry out loud, when did he ever take the initiative to provoke others, weren't they always the ones who came to him?
He apparently blamed the initial prank on Tom Cruise on the other guy.
Of course, in his heart, if Tom Cruise didn't have designs on Nicole Kidman, why would he go provoke him.
However, he knew that Nicole Kidman was in a bad mood, and although she had been nice to him before, it was better to be cautious as she wasn't someone with a good temper.
The Polish police intervened quickly, pulling out a cordon between the two groups of people, fortunately without escalating into a full-blown fight, except for one guy who was thrown by Ryan onto the gravel and got some scratches, while others just exchanged verbal insults.
But things will not end like this, openly promoting Nazism and racism, destroying the property of the crew, and it all happened under the eyes of journalists from around the world. In the words of the commanding officer, this is a complete smear on the entire Polish nation.
Those two members from the All-American Jewish Association have already made contact with the domestic side, and as a force of the Jews, this matter will inevitably rise to the diplomatic level.
Compared to the atmosphere of the crew and the shouting of those Poles, the reporters and paparazzi became excited, sighing that it was not a wasted trip. They had been here for only a few days and already got a big scoop.
RaeLynn Jenkins stands up against racism for her friend!
This title seems insufficient, then 'Ryan Jenkins fights against terrorists to maintain the reputation of the Jewish nation' should be good!
Paparazzi will exaggerate and attract attention however they can, sparking controversy wherever possible. What's responsibility? What's conscience?
Journalists should have a higher bottom line, several journalists from the United States gathered together, exchanging views.
"Ryan is a role model for American youth, with courage and talent equally outstanding, this is the idol that deserves our big book special!" The reporter who said this not only wore the badge of the Los Angeles Times but also had obvious Jewish characteristics.
"This country of Poland is really too much, openly advocating Nazism!"
Anti-Nazi and anti-Hitler are the most basic political correctness, and journalists from major newspapers will naturally not make mistakes on this.
"Compared to Ryan, I'm more concerned about who this girl is!"
Someone was using a 'point-and-shoot' camera, and he pointed at the frail Natalie, "She is the first person to stand out in the crew, looking no more than eleven or twelve years old, but with such courage, it's really amazing."
"Right, Ryan knocked that Polish guy to the ground just to save her." someone added.
"I also saw Ryan holding her hand as they left together." The topic naturally shifted towards the 8 o'clock news.
As an entertainment journalist, the paparazzi mentality is naturally more rampant than others. Unconsciously, a group of people gathered together to discuss this boring topic.
Soon, news of the conflict was transmitted back to the United States. Given that large media outlets in North America are almost all controlled by Jews or people of Jewish descent, it is easy to guess which side public opinion would lean towards.
Poland also received diplomatic notes, the crew of "Schindler's List" became an officially protected object, and Spielberg was also lucky to avoid many unnecessary troubles afterwards.
As the media reported, "Schindler's List" thoroughly entered the public eye, and the crew also began to release limited information to create momentum for the film. Under the operation of the American Jewish Association, this history was repeatedly mentioned, and World War II and the Holocaust once again became a hot topic.
As for Ryan and Natalie, they were only briefly mentioned in the press, but before they could make any further headlines, they were completely overwhelmed by a massive amount of news about World War II and the Nazis.
……
"Ryan, it's all my fault, I'm the one who got you scolded by Nicole." Natalie rarely lowered her head in front of him.
This is the VIP passage of the airport. Due to Nicole's strong request, Ryan can only return to Los Angeles in advance, and Natalie still has a lot of scenes that have not been filmed, so she stayed with her mother.
"Nate, you're my best friend. No matter what, I won't let those scumbags hurt you. I believe that if the situation were reversed, you'd do the same for me, wouldn't you?" The two teenagers, a boy and a girl, who had been at odds with each other just moments before, now showed less animosity and more warmth towards each other as they prepared to part ways.
"That's for sure." Natalie clenched her small fist and said very firmly, "I've told you, Ryan, I'll always support you. We're the best of friends!"
"Alright, see you in New York after a while!" Ryan also raised her fist and bumped it against hers. "You must get the role of Matilda, give that French guy Luc Besson a show, let him know that our dear Nate is an acting genius!"
"I certainly will." Natalie said confidently.
"It's time, I should go." Ryan gently hugged the girl, she was really too thin. "Nico, George, let's go."
"Goodbye, Nate. Goodbye, Mrs. Sherry."
Watching Ryan and his group disappear at the boarding gate, Natalie still didn't seem to want to leave, so Mrs. Sherry pulled her along.
"Nate, we should head back." she reminded him.
"Can we wait a bit, Mom?" Natalie asked with a pleading expression, "Can't we leave after Ryan's plane takes off?"
Natalie stood quietly in front of the glass window, blinking her bright eyes, watching the huge plane climb into the sky.
Our friendship will never change, right Ryan? She's going to be eleven soon and besides her parents, Natalie felt like she had someone who was really important to her.
