Waking up to a new day, Melissa yawned as she got out of bed in the Cortez manor and headed downstairs to get dressed. Tying up her hair into a bun aing her work clothes on being a leather apron with gloves, she headed to the rooms of Lisa and Camil calling out to them to wake up.
Once she done so, she headed into the kit and prepped a hearty meal to the start of the day. Just as she settled the dishes oable, Lisa and Camil walked in rather groggily before eating the cooked breakfast oable. "So, everyone is at the begiage now with most of us making some headway into the third stage of our csses?" Getting some nods from them, Melissa thinks to herself, Soon, it wont be long before we actually search for him.
"Lets summarise our current knowledge so that we make some pns going forward. First, the temples saints say that they didn't know that a fourth otherworlder was even summoo begin with which made them scratch their heads in fusion. Sedly, if we are to find out information on his whereabouts, ideally we would o find the help of a prophet that has bee a hermit on the western ti, thirdly... They theorise that it was the awakening of the god of death whiterfered with Lumians crossing into this world."
Taking a deep breath and a gss of water, Melissa tinued, "Furthermore, the divine oracles missive from the deities is for us to prevent the full awakening of death by removing the existence of an evil neahat seems to be slowly growing in power."
"You know... I don't really believe their whole spiel that all neancers are evil or ing because these are rather fanatical religious groups." Lisa said with a bit of bite to her tone, likely from butting heads with her viewpoints on belief.
As they tio verse, a kno the manor's door was heard so Camil got up from her seat ao the door and ope to see who it was. Letting the light stream through the gap of the door, she sees a young elven dy with silvery hair and white robes, reising her as the saintess of the Lunaris church smiling back at her.
"Hi, I hope I'm not intruding?" A silky smooth voice left her lips as she asked the question.
"Huh? N-No of course not, please e in saintess Sylvana!" Camil ushered her in before closing the door behind them, "What we do for you?"
"I believe that none of you have ged your mind to stay in the capital?" Looking at their faces Sylva out a small sigh then sat down at the table. "Seeing as we t vince you then the best thing is to send you you off with a team that work well with you that help ensure your safety."
After saying this Lisa was a bit abrasive in a worded reply. "I bet its not just prote, but so you monitor us as well isn't it?"
"Indeed, I wohat but to be fair you have only been here a few months and have no real belonging to this world yet, therefore we don't want you making unnecessary as or assumptions that could bring down your reputation that you've been building." In a measured yet unhostile tone, Sylvana answered Lisa as if she were a child in her eyes.
Not expeg Sylvana to reply in such a way, Lisa became a little fbbergasted at the response. She then narrowed her eyes suspiciously and questioned in a more subdued tone. "Who are you thinking of sending with us?"
Taking that as her que, Sylvana replied in a more upbeat tone as if Lisa's suspis were unwarranted a nothing. "First we have Derek, a frontlianker and a beastman of the Terra church, Lucas, a young mage from the mage towers perfect for elementalist magid Sarah Renzo, the heiress to the baron Renzo family and a frontline swordsman with a little skill in archery."
After revealing those details, she let this informatiole into their minds as she got up to leave, "I suggest you e with me to meet them at least before you make any itments oher you will take them or not."
Melissa, brought back out of her internal thoughts, he others and brought them along with her as they left the manor and got into an opulent carriage with the saintess. A quick journey of forty five minutes before the carriage stopped at a nearby well sculpted building, the octs of which were sitting on a bench outside he door.
One of them was a rge burly beast of a man with light brown hair that seemed wild and untamed with a bit of greying happening. He had hazel eyes that pulled others in if stared at too long with rge thick hairs on his beefy arms. Standing he appeared to be nearly seveall with a slightly rotund stomach, the only real differeween him and another human was that his ears were brown circur ears he top of his head like a beasts. He was wearing rge silver armour with a t shield at one side and a battle axe pced to the side of his hip.
The other two were humans, smaller thaher and one being male, the other female. The male had short, cropped bck hair, his eyes squinting into what looked to be gsses on his face. His eyes had some circles uhem making him appear tired and grumpy even if his smile on his lips revealed amusement. His figure, rather nky in parison to the others and skin silky smooth and pale as if he hasn't seen the sun that was barely revealed from wearing a rge robe that covered the ey of him with a brown staff by his side.
Finally, the young peared graceful in demeanor but had a perpetual smirk, raising a cocked eyebrow at them. She had long suyled hair tied into a ponytail, her skin tao a near dark brown. Hand on hip, she leaned revealing a set of muscles and toned abs from stant w out where she wore rather light armour with what looked to be a normal basigsword attached to her hip.
While the two sides were sizing each other up, Sylvana thought it best to introduce them. "Otherworlders, this is Derek, Lucas and Sarah Renzo, you three, these are the otherworlders, Camil, Melissa and Lisa."
Melissa was barely paying attention as her gaze rimarily on Derek, appearing rather ied until she was snapped out of it with Derek holding his hand out for a handshake. "Pleasure to meet you miss Melissa, I look forward t together." His voice was a deep baritone making Melissa have a slight, nearly unnoticeable blush to her cheeks.
Keep it together, we've only just met! "Likewise, sir Derek." Answering with a polite, charming smile of her own leaving Derek mesmerised by her disarming smile before ushering everyoo ehe building. Looks like this could work out.
