Chapter 27: Looting legendary items

  Thalia looked towards Xhemile and tapped her shoulder.

  “Do you think we could defeat that lizard thingy?”

  “Well, I don't know what you're capable of. Even then I think it would be a brutal fight. Plus, all the lords and ladies which only wait for a chance to strike.”

  “Wanna try it still?”

  “No. Let's wait a bit and see what the others do before we make our move.”

  “Alrighty~”

  Xhemile looked towards the groups of lords on the ground. Thalia to her left also started to look around and relax. They both noticed that the groups were different but somehow still the same.

  Many groups were either female dominated or male. The female dominated groups often had a gathering of female lords which made no signs of movement towards the monster, they instead focused on socializing and promoting each other's resources and try to set up an alliance or trade.

  Meanwhile the male dominated groups often centered around a leader with a few co-leaders. They focused on making plans on how to defeat the lizard or to boast about strength. Of course, there were also many which made trade agreements or invites to alliances. There were also a few which boasted about their strong subordinates or talk about the beauties they have seen.

  All groups had the agreement that this was a weird situation and made many assumptions why such an event was suddenly held. Of course there were also people which stayed alone to observe.

  Meanwhile the blonde boy was looking around to find more allies which were stronger than the average in many groups around him. His cronies were also actively trying to recruit new alliance members and hit on females.

  Xhemile’s only reaction to these moves made her frown. Thalia, meanwhile was actively commenting to these situations and making fun of the failed attempts to impress a female.

  Soon the first group advanced forward. It was a large group of male lords attempting to slay the lizard.

  The battle only lasted for a short time, as the group lacked in strength and coordination. Also, the lizard finished the fight very quickly. It looked at them and opened its mouth to roar at the group. After that it used its tail to completely crush the group, it was over after 10 seconds.

  The survivors fled and many left as they saw the strength of the creature and acknowledged that they had no chance to win. Of course, other groups remained but focused more on a dishonorable route, that is to steal the loot after the monster was defeated from the weakened victors. The blonde boy and his group also stayed behind.

  Thalia sighed next to Xhemile, shaking her out of her thoughts.

  “Soooo... Do you have a plan?”

  Thalia looked at Xhemile with an expectant look.

  “Well, I thought of something...”

  Thalia started to grin and the two women started to plan how to defeat the lizard.

  25 minutes and much planning later.

  Xhemile had her spear in her hand and jumped down from the branch, directly in front of the lizard, she then used the system to identify it.

  She wondered if her plan would really work on such a creature.

  Meanwhile Thalia was sat on a branch directly looking at the lizard. She took out her bow and took out an arrow from her quiver on her back. This arrow wasn't a normal arrow. It had a sharp stone tip with a weird greenish looking liquid applied to it. She drew the bow while the lizard was focusing on Xhemile.

  The arrow flew and accurately hit the lizard in the eye. The poison on the arrow dealt also its blow and the lizard lost its sight on the right eye completely. It roared in pain and looked towards Thalia with rage in its eyes.

  That's when it suddenly saw something approaching in its remaining eye.

  “Heh... Stupid lizard not focusing on the enemy in front of it.”

  The lizards eye met a javelin from Xhemile which hit it also directly into the left eye. It roared again in pain now wildly swinging its tail and head in the hope to hit the assailant. Xhemile also knew its objective and retreated out of its attack range. Thalia didn't slack of either, she continued to shoot arrows at the exposed spots of the lizard like its throat, open mouth, injured eyes and ear holes. This also infuriated the lizard and it started to flail more around. Xhemile exploited the short openings when it was tired from flailing its tail and thrust her spear into its sides.

  Many arrow and thrusts later the lizard was exhausted and bleeding from multiple wounds, mixed with the poison from Thalia it slowly reached its end. The night elven archer also left her hiding spot on the tree and was currently standing next to Xhemile observing the end of the lizard.

  They both looked at each other and came to the agreement to end the suffering of the creature. They also both came to the conclusion that the creature in front of them despite being rank 4 was fairly easy to defeat mainly because it lacked what their foes in the real world had.

  Intelligence.

  The alpha desert dog clearly knew the danger of arrows and other weapons, while the lizard despite its superior strength and resistance lacked the complete awareness of encountering projectiles and countering them. It solely relied on its armor and strength. The alpha was more of balanced fighter and had way more experience encountering and attacking humanlike enemies.

  After the lizard breathed its last breath, they both relaxed and high fived.

  But the joy wasn't lasting as a familiar blonde haircut was approaching them.

  “Quite the nice fight you both had there. A good team also: A black woman and a purple freak. Now, how about you leave the chest to us and just go?”

  He felt confident enough to threaten these two women. He smiled disgustingly and felt superior because of his groups numerical advantage.

  “Ah~... Did you finally find your balls~?”

  “Wha-?”

  “Look at his small tent down there~. He clearly is attracted to us~. He finally had the courage to talk to a woman and look how eager he is~.”

  Thalia’s teasing tone caught him off guard.

  Everybody in front of him looked now at his crotch area to really see a small tent there.

  “Well, that was to be expected when looking at such a bombshell like the big cutie right here~.”

  “Wha-!”

  This time it was Xhemile which was caught off guard. Thalia slipped behind her and suddenly grabbed her breasts from behind, shaking them a bit. Due to her current clothing this action attracted all the gazes of the men and the women, leaving the stunned.

  Using this, Thalia quickly grabbed Xhemile’s hand and ran towards the chest. She grabbed the chest and threw it into Xhemile’s arms. They then quickly bolted away from the small clearing.

  The blonde boy was the first to regain his wits.

  “Hey! They are trying to run!”

  The group awoke and they started to pursue the two women. After a while they couldn't find any traces from them anymore. So, they walked towards the next light beam. Many men had still a hazy look in their eyes. This night many tents needed to be brought down.

  Meanwhile Xhemile and Thalia were coming to a stop at a small stream.
