Kate was sitting by a window in the middle of the night keeping watch on the house across the street, she was supposed to wake the others up if something out of the ordinary happened and the four of them who were in there were taking turns every few hours.
She hadn't heard or seen anything weird happen the last two days except occasionally seeing someone walk past a window.
It was nearly 2 am and she’d been awake for 16 hours now, Bobby came to relinquish her of the duties letting her finally go to bed. To her surprise the moment she fell asleep she woke up again in Joy's bedroom.
She was startled by Sara staring at her, but when she stood up she realized that Sara wasn't looking at her, but Joy who was laying in the bed.
Kate was very creeped out by the environment, there was no noise in anything she did and when she tried to speak the sound didn't echo at all. She tried to open the door, but her hand went through the doorknob and she fell through.
Outside in the hallway she got startled by Kire, Iro and 55 staring at her on the ground. 55 helped her up and Iro told her that they were in a dream. They walked into the living room where another Joy was sitting on the couch, he looked at Kate and asked her to sit down along with everyone else.
“Sara thinks we're attacking Berlin in 4 days.” Joy explained. “And I want you and Luna to take my body elsewhere while we start traveling there hopefully in two days.”
“Okay.” Kate was very conflicted, she didn't even know who Luna was, but was afraid to ask because of the tension in there. Everybody was dead quiet while Joy was talking, but that was the only menacing thing she could find in him, he looked very young and there was a lot of uncertainty in his voice.
“Do you mind if we talk between just the four of us?” Iro asked Joy.
Joy just shook his hand towards them, so they walked into another room to have a talk.
“He's just warning you in case that actually happens, I don't really trust the plan, but Kire and him are fully banking on it.” Iro explained.
“Well, I have a few questions.” Kate asked
“Go ahead.” Iro
“What even is the plan?” Kate
“I guess to just leave Sara alone in Berlin, Joy is trying to create a clone of himself that he could steer while you and 55 carry his actual body as far away as possible.” Iro
“Didn't he say Luna, is that your real name?” Kate asked 55 and surprisingly she straight up talked to her. “Yeah.”
While they were talking Kire was sitting on the floor, not even paying attention.
“Kire!” Iro yelled trying to get his attention.
“What?” Kire
“Do you mind finally telling us what you two talked about before pulling all of us here.” Iro
“Nothing really, he just told me his plan.” Kire
“And his plan was so amazing that you're willing to risk your life for it? Because to me his plan sucks, it relies on him inventing something impossible in 2 days.” Iro
“He learned this in one day.” Kire
“He told you that?” Iro
“Yeah.” Kire
“So you did talk about other things as well.” Iro
Kire didn't answer Iro.
“Seriously, can't you just tell?” Iro
Right then they all fell a few meters and landed on top of that same mountain where Joy and Kire were. They then heard the old Kire say “Nidenel is afraid of you.” At the same time the mountain flattened and they were standing on a field. Kire’s winter clothes changed into much lighter ones and he asked Joy if he was the one doing that.
The current Kire was surprised to see that past being repeated, but he was smiling as he knew what was coming.
“So he won't help me?” Joy asked.
“He doesn't want me to even free him anymore, not as long as you're on earth.” Kire
“Well, can you help me? I might have a plan.” Joy
“I pray that you do because, I'm not really excited about diving to Berlin when all of GA is there.” Kire
“Well you still might have to, but don't worry Sara won't go after you, her job is to keep an eye on me until my death date.” Joy
“Death date?” Kire
“Yeah when the guy comes to kill Nidenel. I don't yet know when it is, but if we can unseal Nidenel before that I won't have to worry about it anymore.” Joy
“That sounds great, but you said we don't stand a chance against Sara, so how're we killing her?” Kire
“We don't need to, if I make a copy of myself that could fool her until I'm far enough that she can't sense me anymore.” Joy
“So what about me and Iro?” Kire
“I don't know, I know Sara won't kill you so maybe you can just run away if I start a huge fight.” Joy
“Sounds good.” Kire
“Great, hopefully we can start moving in a few days, depending on how fast I can figure out how to clone myself.” Joy
“You haven't figured that out yet?” Kire
“No, but hopefully I can utilize this dream world we're in right now.” Joy wanted to show Kire what he meant and millions of copies of him appeared around them and they all stared Kire down and talked in sync with the real Joy. “I can create clones here so what's stopping me from doing it in the real world.”
Kire wanted to use common sense and shut Joy down, as he could name the difference between a dream and the real world… He wanted to, but he didn't know what Joy could truly achieve, as Joy was the same person who Nidenel was afraid of. Nidenel was the most extraordinary person Kire knew, he had told him tales of how he was hunted across galaxies until he was finally caught and how the battles he had fought left billions of planets without stars to provide them warmth. “So are you already working on it?” He asked.
Their surroundings changed once again, and now they were standing in the air with their house right below them, they could see everything that was happening in real time although as it was midnight so not much was happening.
They then descended into the house and Joy started explaining his plans to mold the ground into a 1 to 1 replica of himself which he could then steer while hiding somewhere. Kire barely even listened to what ye was saying, he was in awe of the place they were in right now.
He wasn't the only one everybody who was watching the past were also awestruck, but most importantly Joy hadn't just replicated the house, but the whole street and that's what shocked everybody even more as they saw themselves in the house across the street sleeping or in Kate's case her sitting by the window.
Then everything froze and Joy walked from behind them. “Please help me and I promise I will succeed.”
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
“Who is Nidenel?” Kate asked.
“He is a saint who was sealed inside the earth 600 years ago.” Joy answered.
“A saint?” Kate
“Yeah, they have special abilities given by a higher power.” Joy
“There's a higher power?” Kate
“Yeah, or that's what most people outside earth think. There are people who call themselves cadvo who don't like the fact that someone is giving these unfair abilities to people so they strive to kill anyone who has them. They're physically evolved to be better at sensing the residue of a higher power in someone.” Joy
Everybody except Kire were awestruck and they had nothing else to ask, they did all agree to Joy's plan and put their faith in him.
None of them even realized that 9 hours passed after that when they woke up, Joy had pushed them back into natural sleep, while he himself stayed in the dream world alone.
While Kate woke up she got a great idea which he immediately went to pitch to everyone else in the house.
He gathered them all into the basement, but didn't even mention to them about the dream in which she and 55 had been in last night.
“I know what to do with Vince, we can send him to Berlin with Kire.” Kate whispered.
55 was immediately on board with the idea, although she couldn't say it, but the guys were kind of confused. Bobby asked Kate why Kire was even going to Berlin and only then did she reveal the talk they had with Joy last night.
“He can do that?” Bobby chuckled “I thought he was just a really fucking strong kid.”
“He's definitely still a child, I wonder what he went through during that month after their house burned down. Apparently he was with some aliens.” Kate wondered. “What I went through probably doesn't even compare to it.”
Kate then walked into the room where Vince was and took a wristband off him. “Oh yeah, he can see what we're doing right now.”
On the other side of the street Joy was waking up anxious on whether Sara was aware of the last night, at least from what he saw in his world she didn't pay much attention so he was somewhat confident. He acted like he did yesterday ignoring her and going straight to get some food, then he sat down on the couch and rummaged through the books to see if he could find any that could help him, but there were none. It disappointed him as he couldn't really do anything to progress his plan except at night, his hands were completely tied as long as Sara was looking.
Out of boredom after a few hours he went to see Kire meditating, or at least was trying. Joy's presence was distracting enough as he couldn't really interact with him properly yet with Sara listening to everything in the house.
“What?” Kire asked while trying to act cool.
“Do you want to fight?” Joy asked.
It surprised both Kire and Sara, but she got more worried when Kire agreed. Sara got up and walked outside after the two, preparing to intervene if things got too crazy.
Kire stayed by the house while Joy walked a bit further. He was talking to Kire as he walked away. “You attack me after I get a bit further away and Sara film this.”
Kire didn't listen to Joy at all; he attacked him after he had walked just around 20 meters away. He wasn't planning on fighting to death, but he was very curious about Joy's capabilities. Unfortunately to him his surprise attack just didn't work on Joy, he swiftly dodged it and immediately started complaining to Kire. “I said attack me when I'm further, maybe that street lamp.” Joy was pointing at the only standing lamp on the street.
Kire was holding in his laughter and when he turned around he saw Sara holding a camera that was pointed right at him, he waved at it and then turned back to see Joy waving at him.
Kire closed the gap in a blink of an eye, but his face was met by the bottom of Joy's feet, Kire then briefly felt static electricity build up, but was able to get away from a lightning strike that was coming from Joy's fingers.
Their fight looked like nothing, but two blurs flying around, but at least the camera was able to keep up. Joy was doing his best to contain the fight and to not destroy any of the houses, especially the one where the other part of his plan was. After exactly 6 minutes Joy yelled for Kire to stop, he said nothing, but good fight and walked back into the house.
Kire was definitely amused by him even more now, he believed himself to be much more experienced and lacking in pure strength, but he couldn't ignore the very few extremely refined things Joy was able to do. He then also walked back inside and saw Joy and Sara sitting by the kitchen table with a laptop in front of them.
“Are you going to post that video?” Kire asked.
“Of course I am.” Joy answered.
He did in fact post the video, on the same account as the previous one and like before it went viral almost immediately.
In the GA they were still trying to put together everything that Michael's grandfather had told them. Most of them saw the video almost immediately after it was posted, Milo was just taking a break from training and when he checked his phone he saw that the video was being shared between the members of GA, he immediately went to show it to Tatadoro and Monika and out of curiosity Michael and Liam also came to see what was going on.
Michael was surprised to see his former teacher fighting his brother. When he mentioned knowing Kire everyone turned to look at him. “What do you mean you know him?” Milo asked.
“He taught me for one day.” Michael answered, completely oblivious to who Kire was.
Both Monika and Tatadoro almost burst out laughing. “This is getting ridiculous, you're somehow connected to everyone.” Tatadoro chuckled.
They were joking now, but even they were getting a bit unsure. Either Michael was just really good at lying and was an integral part of some grand plan or he was really unfortunate. The girl who Vb spoke with did say he was supposed to be a weapon against the GA.
They both left the 3 kids by themselves and found Vb in his room. Vb had a bad feeling about the two coming there and begged them to give him good news.
“Yeah no. Kire was Michael's teacher.” Tatadoro said bluntly.
Even Vb chuckled at the ridiculousness. “How genuine did he seem?”
“I think he was telling the truth.” Monika
“If he was malicious would he say that? And does Liam know… how deep does it go?” Vb mumbled.
“What do you think they're training for?” Tatadoro asked to change the subject.
“You mean Joy and Kire?” Vb snorted. “Probably against us.”
The GA was left in a state of even more chaos, Joy didn't do it deliberately as couldn't have predicted the future, but it might've worked to his favor as it could make the fight a lot more hectic.
Nobody in the GA had a restful night, but on the other side of the world, Joy slept like a baby. When he fell asleep he started working on his plan, but he saw in the corner of his eye something written down inside the other house, he went closer to see that it said “Talk to me again!” It was written on the wall right on top of Kate sleeping so without hesitation Joy invaded her dream.
He found Kate hundreds of meters underground, kept away from everything else. She was alone in a large room with blinding yellow lights and a huge wall marked with an X that a much younger Kate was trying to break.
It reminded Joy of his own month with Sara, torturous training for days with no end in sight. Out of curiosity Joy stayed there without interfering for a long time, the passage of time was very weird as for him he only experienced about 15 minutes, but the dream progressed for weeks. During that time the wall hadn't even gotten a scratch on it and Joy didn't feel like waiting anymore so he went to snap Kate back to reality.
At first she was confused, but quickly remembered she was just dreaming and her appearance quickly changed to her current one. She was about to ask Joy how much he had seen, but Joy got to the point. He asked Kate what she wanted to talk about and she got the idea that Joy was in a hurry.
“I want you to kill someone.” Kate asked.
Joy was surprised, it was a very odd request, but he accepted her proposal. “Sure. Who?”
“I will send a man into that house tomorrow, he's the one who is tied down in my basement.” Kate explained. “He's the person who put me, you and your brother into this mess in the first place.”
“Okay sure.” Joy answered. His reaction was very mild to knowing who she was sending there, Kate even got worried that Vince wasn't getting the death she desired him to have.
“I want you to not even acknowledge him, give him the hope that he is going to be free and be useful to Kire and then take his life, but make sure he knows he dies, don't make it quick.” Kate clarified.
As she was telling Joy instructions on how to kill Vince she saw Joy be completely unbothered by everything she was saying, she was even guessing whether Joy would even remember any of it tomorrow. Especially after Joy asked if that was all and Kate immediately woke up the next morning.
She truly wasn't at all sure if she should even send Vince there anymore, would it just be a waste and Joy would give him a quick painless death? She decided to trust in him, coincidentally Vince had been awake for the last 8 hours, he tried to fall asleep, but as he had already slept the past month and his movement was completely restricted he couldn't even knock himself out.
Kate opened the door and greeted Vince like an old friend. “Hey buddy, I've good news for you. Kire wants you to help in his little plan.”
Vince didn't have any idea on anything that had happened in the past month so he was completely clueless of the trap he was walking into.
“I've been following Kire for a while and keeping contact with him through your phone. He was asking for your help in some plan he has, so I'm gonna let you go there.” Kate explained. She brought Vince upstairs and pointed him to the house. “That’s where he and Iro are. You're gonna walk out the backdoor and then come from around the block.”
Kate kicked him out and watched from the window as he did as she had told, when she saw him again walking towards the house she tried her best to contain her laughter as Vince was pretending to be nonchalant, he was walking confidently right into his demise.
He finally got to the house and knocked on the door and Kate watched from the distance as surprisingly Kire was the one who opened the door for him. She then got super anxious as the plan could entirely fail depending on Kire's response, but to her delight Kire invited him in with a wide smile. Kate almost started screaming, but she had to contain her excitement in case Sara was listening. The rest of Vince's life was left as a guessing game to her, but 3 days later she got the confirmation when Joy's plan was finally on the move.
