'Dungeon Tower' is a popular RPG where you move up levels by climbing each floor. The higher the number of the level, the more difficult the enemies are. There is a 'rest' floor every 10 floors. On these floors, you can relax, as you guessed! Luckily, I was put on one of these floors.
I never got past the first 30 levels since when I went to sleep, the next day I woke up and found myself stuck here. In my past life, I bought this game online for cheap, maybe that's how I got into this situation in the first place… But hey, at least I don't have to start all over again... Right?

As I opened my eyes I saw a notification that looked as if I were in a video game:

I yawn sitting up and looking around at my surroundings.
A bed... check!
An apron?... check!...
And a ladder leading downstairs... check!
Getting up and out of bed, I see a mirror and rush towards it, (can you blame me? You would want to know too!)
"Woah, I look... pretty!"
Blonde hair, pink eyes, and a quite beautiful face (if I do say so myself).
To whoever designed her, you deserve a raise!

"Hm… I have employees? I must be successful then!”
Going down the ladder, I’m greeted by a talking cat…?
"You're the new café owner!" the white cat says, "You must be Lucy, right?"
"Oh, that's my name...? I was expecting something more... unique..." I say, "But I don't mind! Lucy is a cute name too!"
"Did you happen to lose your memory in the last few days?"
"You could say that's the case!"
"Are you sure this is her?" a black cat whispered to the white cat, "she seems... dumb."

"I'm Lizzie," she exclaimed, "and he's Boots!"
"Ah, so this place is run by animals..."
"All buildings in Clovervale are! " Lizzie explained, "On this floor, we animals are very special since we can talk!"

Lizzie started showing me around the café, “this is the kitchen, you’ll make many different kinds of food here in the morning.”
“What are all these ingredients?” I ask because of the food in the fridge I've never seen on Earth before.
“Oh! I forgot that you lost your memory… here's a recipe book! ”

“Lucy! Wake up!” I feel a paw poking at my cheek, “It’s time to get the café ready!”
“One more minute…” I say tired, “Wait! This wasn't a dream?! This really happened?!
“Lizzie! What's taking her so long?!” Boots yelled from downstairs.
“Oh my god! I'm stuck in that stupid game! That dumb seller is going to get it when I get out…”
“Lucy! Get out of bed and get ready!”
“Lizzie! Can't you see I'm having a crisis?!” I sob, “My life is in ruins!”
“Lucy, you need to get it together…” she starts, “...and start getting ready to open the café…”
I sigh, rethinking my life choices…

What did I do to get stuck in some weird RPG? All this for one guy who doesn't even know my name? God, I'm so dumb.
“Lucy, you've been scaring off all the customers with that face!”
“What face?” I ask in a deadpan tone.
“Right there! That face!” Boots pointed out.
Stupid cat…
*DING*
“Lucy, get into character, we have our first customer,” Boots told me.
I give a thumbs up to Boots, “Hello! Welcome to Café Lucy! How may I help you?”
"Please look at the menu and let us know what you would like!”
Our customer nodded and started looking.
“...Uh, can I get a black coffee?”
“Sure! Anything else?”
“What would you recommend?”
“Me? I think the Berry Shortcake looks tasty!” I've wanted to taste it since I first baked it… but Lizzie told me I can't!
“I'll take one.”
“Great! That would be… 15 G!”
“Let me make your coffee, Here's the slice of cake while you wait,” I tell him, “You can sit over there, and I’ll bring it!”
“Thank you,” he said before he walked to a table.
How do you use the coffee machine again?
“Boot’s! I need help!”

We had a total of two customers! That is if you count the one drunk man who came in, then we escorted him out a minute after…
So… we had only one customer, but he did give a 5 G tip!
Take that Boots I got a tip and you didn't!
I just realized I'm having beef with a cat… let that sink in…
“It's been a long day!” I sigh as I get into the bath.
The more I think about it, the more I realize how familiar that one customer was… I mean, I feel as if I've seen him before… think Lucy, think!

Going through all the characters I remember from this game, only one fits this guy's description:
Theodore Madden
Silver-white hair, yellow eyes, and the scar on his left eye…
He is a late-game character and the only reason I know him is because of the many videos I watched on this game.
The thing about his character though is that he is considered ‘The Hero NPC’ by many fans. He helps the player on quests and will usually carry you through it. Fans think that he would be the main hero of the game if it weren't for the player.
So what was a high-rank NPC doing in Clovervale…?
