“I’ve never seen a black fairy before and your saying the mana trail was black so that’s why you couldn’t see initially.”, Ren’s dad said. Ren responded, “Yeah that’s right after I added more light, I was able to see the trail as clear as day.”. “Interesting perhaps we’ll learn more after the magic alignment test.”, Ren’s dad said. Noir curiously responded, “The magic what test?” Ren then explained how the magic alignment test is a method in which young mages discover what type of magic their fairy can use. In the process the fairy and partner step into a pool of enchanted water together and the color the water turns determines what type of magic that fairy can use. There are 6 different types of magic a fairy can use. If the water turns blue that means the fairy can use ritual magic in which a fairy’s magic is used in a process to create magic items, potions, summoning and many other things. Green means nature magic in which through a fairy magic their partner can channel the nature around them. Red is elemental magic as the name suggest allows you can take command of an element. Orange is transformation magic allows you to change one object into another. Yellow is physical magic which improves traits of a person or item and can even elevate them to superhuman levels. Finally, purple means miscellaneous magic, this is magic that is so unique that it can’t fit into another category. Ren’s father said, “We can do that test tomorrow for now Ren you rest. After the night you had you deserve it.” Ren starting to get tired said, “Yeah sure (yawns), come on Noir.” Noir confused said, “No I’m gonna stay up for a bit.” Ren still tired just said, “Whatever.”
Noir now alone with Ren’s father, “So what should I call you, or is Mr. Ren’s dad good.” Ren’s dad responded smiling, “You can call me Segoroth.” His face suddenly switched to a serious expression, “Noir from now on your going to be my son’s partner his teammate, as his father’s there’s only so much I can do but you will be able to get closer than I ever can. He says he doesn’t know what he’s going to do but I know my son he’s going to start travelling around the kingdom the second he gets the green light. I’ll I’m asking is that you watch out for him and no matter what you stick with him.” After a second taking a second Noir promises that he’ll always stick by Ren’s side. After a second Noir then asks where Segoroth’s fairy is which then appears out of virtually nowhere Azure then introduces himself to Noir. Curious Noir asks what kind of magic can Azure and Segoroth use. They respond saying, “We can use ritual magic, not exactly the best kind of magic for fighting so that’s why we decided to go from town to town selling what we made. It was a lot of fun but don’t think we can’t hold our own in a fight.” immediately after saying that Segoroth and Azure start laughing, and Noir joins in awkwardly. After a long pause Noir asks, “So where exactly is Ren’s mother?” Upon asking that question the tone shifted again to being more serious. After a minute Segoroth responded, “His mother was a brave fighter who wanted to see anything and everything that’s how I know Ren’s going to start travelling when he can between the two of us he’s more like his mother, the way Ren’s like me is the fact that he’s a boy.” Continuing the story Azure said, “However adventurers don’t always return home. Whether it's a newly discovered dungeon that you never make it back from or you run into someone on a bad day who's stronger than anything you've seen before.” After Azure finished a tear can be seen rolling down Segoroth’s check, “So Noir I’m not going to stop Ren from adventuring and travelling but I hope you will always keep your promise to me.” Noir contemplating what they said responded, “Yeah I promise that Ren will always come back. It’s getting kind of late, so I think I’m gonna turn in as well.” Before flying up the stairs in the direction Ren went Noir stopped and said, “You I know I just met Ren, but I can already tell that he has a caring heart just like you. Guess that’s another way you two are alike.” and with that Noir went off to bed.

The next day Ren and Noir were taken to a ravine where they were going to go through with the test. A man dressed in ceremonial robes walks up to Segoroth and said, “Since your son has a fairy color we’ve never seen before I’ve taken the liberty reserving a private ravine just in case.” The man then speaks, “Today marks the true start of your life a life in which no one else can hope to copy or imitate if you have any hesitation in your heart leave them out of the waters cause once you step in you can never go back.” With that Ren and Noir take a deep breath and begin their slow descent into the sacred water.
