- On the third floor? asks Seleph while looking at the people in the Stairs. You used to live that high up in the tower?

  - It's not that high up there and there is a huge difference between the middle and Upper floors. whispers Adam while sneakily walking toward the pillar

  The guards who are far too focused on keeping the people within the Stairs calm, overlook the fact that Adam, Seleph, and Eve have reached the pillar

  - What do we do now? whispers Seleph. Do you even know how this works?

  Adam takes out the access card and places it on a little grey pad on the pillar. The pad lights up and a door leading to the inside of the pillar opens in front of them

  - Whooaaa. makes Seleph with his mouth and eyes wide open

  Adam quickly but stealthily steps into the Pillar and uses his hand, to make the least amount of noise possible to tell Seleph to come in quickly. Seleph nods and enters the Pillar

  {Seleph}

  " It's not the time to be amazed by things I have never seen. From now on, I need to grow stronger and focus on only that."

  The door they used to enter the Pillar closes and the white platform they are standing on starts to rise. Adam looks at Seleph and Eve as he remembers Mother Lyvie's last words

  " A...dam? T...ake Seleph... and Eve... and... run."

  - How is she doing? Adam asks after raising his head and looking in front of him

  Seleph looks at Adam with widened eyes. Then he looks at Eve who is muttering and talking to herself with a depressed expression

  - She's still in shock. says Seleph

  Seleph looks at Adam, then he asks

  - How come you're not in shock? asks Seleph

  He looks down at the platform

  - I... I am barely keeping it together. says Seleph with his head down

  Adam looks at Seleph whose whole body is shaking and trembling

  - It's not my first time seeing someone die. answers Adam while looking at his palm

  Adam clenches his fist

  " But this will be the last time."

  All of a sudden, the platform starts slowing down. Adam looks at the number above the door they used to enter and starts frowning. His reaction didn't escape Seleph's eyes

  - What's happening? asks Seleph

  - We're stopping on the second floor. says Adam while frowning

  - WHAT!? yells Seleph. WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO NOW!? HUH!?

  - Calm down. says Adam with a slightly nervous expression. All we can do is act like we are residents of the third floor. Since we're kids, they might believe us

  - THAT'S YOUR PLAN!? yells Seleph. ACTING!?

  - Stop yelling. says Adam calmly. There's nothing else that we can do now. We are stuck here, and the platform will stop on the second floor no matter what we try to do. Stay calm, no matter what. Ok?

  Seleph nods nervously. He takes a deep breath and stands straight. Adam looks at him and sighs. The platform stops. Adam and Seleph take a deep breath. The door opens and two men with brown hair but different hairstyles, and brown eyes, and a woman with red hair and green eyes wearing a grey uniform with a white lion on their chest

  - What are you kids doing here? asks one of the men

  - We are- starts Adam

  Noise starts coming out from the blue patch behind the ears of the three Knights from the White Lion Order. The woman raises her hand to tell Adam to stop talking

  {Adam}

  " What's going on? Wait! Don't tell me that we got caught downstairs?"

  Seleph looks at Adam nervously

  - What are we going to do now? Seleph whispers to Adam

  - Calm down. Adam mouths without making a noise

  The three Knights look at Adam, Seleph, and Eve

  - You can come down now. says the woman with a smile

  {Adam}

  " What?"

  - What do you mean? asks Seleph with a nervous smile

  - Seriously? says the second man. Did they send these kids up without explaining anything to them?

  Adam nods

  - Nobody told us anything. he says. They only told us to get in and go up

  The three knight's sigh

  - First of all, you can now exit the Pillar. says the woman. They are going to need it to send more people up

  Adam nods. He and Seleph who are still helping Eve, get off the platform and enter the second floor Stairs

  - Basically, because of what happened on the first floor, it was decided that every resident of the first floor would come up and stay in a designated area on the second floor. says the woman Knight while guiding the kids towards the Stairs exit

  The two men stay behind to wait for the other resident on the first floor to be sent up

  - We are going to live on this floor from now on? asks Seleph with a slight excitement in his tone

  The woman looks at Seleph and smiles

  - Yes. she answers Until they are done with the inspection of the first floor, all of you are going to stay on this one. Since the area isn't ready yet, you'll have to stay on the Stairs of the first and second floor

  The woman turns around and looks at Eve

  - Is she ok? asks the woman with a worried expression

  - We.... we saw something horrible. says Seleph with a shaky voice. I try to distract myself so that I don't think about it but I think she just keeps thinking about it

  - Just what kind of terrible thing did you see to put her in that state? asks the woman with a saddened expression

  - We... We... We... saw... starts Seleph as his voice gets increasingly shaky

  - We saw the people we considered as a mother and siblings...says Adam with a frown

  The woman pats both Adam and Seleph on the head

  - You don't need to say anymore. she says with a sad expression as she looks upon the three kids

  Tears start coming out of Seleph's eyes

  - Huh? he says as he wipes his tears away. Why does it keep coming out?

  The woman lowers herself and hugs all three of them and when she does Seleph Eve and even Adam start crying their hearts out

  {The woman}

  " This only happened because the White Lion Order doesn't watch over the first floor. The first floor is the only one that doesn't have a Lion order base. It's a lawless floor where everything goes and that's wrong. Something needs to be done about this."

  [Later on, the same day with the red-haired woman at a different place]

  The woman who was with the kids earlier today is now walking through a considerably long corridor. She stops before a double brown door which she opens. In front of her, a red-haired man with green eyes and glasses is working at his desk.

  - What do you want, Elaine? asks the man without even taking his eyes off his work

  - Father, I want to talk about what transpired on the first floor a few days ago. says Elaine

  Elaine's father raises his eyes and looks at his daughter. He sighs and lowers his eyes to his papers

  - What is it? asks Elaine's father

  - Something like this wouldn't have happened if one of the Lion Orders had a base there just like they have on all six floors. says Elaine with anger

  - This again? says Elaine's father

  - WHY DOES MY PROPOSAL KEEP GETTING DENIED!?!? yells Elaine

  Elaine's father looks at her

  - The real question is why do you keep insisting on building bases on the first floor? asks Elaine's father while staring at her

  - What? says Elaine

  - It's almost as if you are looking for something down there. says Elaine's father. Or maybe someone

  - What are you talking about? asks Elaine with a frown

  - Tell me, Elaine. says her father. Are you still looking for his son?

  Eliane frowns with anger

  - This has nothing to do with Master. says Elaine in anger

  - Are you sure about that? asks Elaine's father

  - Why are you asking that when we both know what Master did? says Elaine while looking down

  Elaine looks up at her father and ask

  - Why does nobody care about what happens to those who live on the first floor? asks Elaine with confusion. I don't understand! What exactly are you hiding from me!?

  [With Adam, Seleph, and Eve]

  - Who was that? says Seleph while looking at Adam. She was so kind, right?

  - How am I supposed to know? answers Adam while looking at the Pillar. I never met her in my life

  - Her name is Elaine. says the second male Knight whom the kids met when they arrived on the second floor. She is an extremely powerful Knight and a great person as well

  - Do you love her mister? asks Seleph with a smirk

  - Wha! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!? yells the Knight with a flushed face

  - I guess she's pretty liked around here? asks Adam

  - She is. says the Knight with a smile. Even though she is the daughter of a noble, she treats everyone she meets and knows equally

  - SHE'S THE DAUGHTER OF A NOBLE!? yells Seleph

  - Really? asks Adam who is also surprised by what he just learned

  - Surprising, isn't it? says the Knight with a smile. My name is Kenzo. What are yours?

  - Adam. answers Adam

  - I am Seleph and that's Eve. Seleph answers while looking at Eve who fell asleep after crying

  [Back with Elaine and her father]

  - The reason why nobody cares about them is because they are Humans. says Elaine's father. In other words, it’s because they are an inferior race
