Chapter 169 – Overlord.

  ParodyGirl

When night came, I decided not to go to Hestia's room to update my Falna. It doesn't really matter if she updates it or not.

I stayed in my room all night, waiting for sleep to e.

However, even after it got dark outside and everything fell silent (most people went to bed), I couldn't sleep. I got up and grabbed my notebook to start writing.

I should work on the fourth volume of Re: Zero, but there's o rush.

Besides, I feel like writing something different.

"I've thought about a few works before, but… I 't decide. Maybe I should write something inal this time?"

I'm irely fident in my writing, and my [Writer] skill is still low. I think writing something successful in my old world is better and will likely be a hit here, too.

It has to be a fantasy story.

  "Maybe Overlord?"

I think it's a good idea. There's no cept of VRMMO games in this world, which might make it a bit harder for readers to uand… But I write something inal to expin it all.

People were already impressed by the glimpses of the inal world mentioned in Re: Zero; imagine if I wrote aire chapter about a futuristic world with such a fantasticept as VRMMO.

  It's time to focus!

I started writing, and several hours passed.

  I didn't stop for a sed.

Throughout the process, I tore out some pages and bit my nails. I struggled a lot with the first chapters. The reason is simple: I haven't read the Overlord novels.

I've only watched the four seasons of the anime.

I remember a friend who read them telling me about the story's future, but that's not enough to write all the volumes.

"But maybe the puter help me with that."

By the time the sun rose, I had only written half a volume.

I closed the notebook and stretched.

"I think I'll keep this work a secret from Hestia and Lili for now."

  ####

I went downstairs and prepared breakfast. It was very early, so everything had gone cold wheia came down.

But she didn't mind and ate anyway.

She ate in silence. I tried talking to her, but she wasn't in the mood. 'She's still upset.'

"I'm going to the library to talk to Elma, then to my room to write on the puter. I'll be gone for a few hours."

"Mhm…" Hestia looked at me, the back to eating.

I sighed ahe mansion. When I got to the library, many people were outside. The third volume of Re: Zero was released. I looked at its cover and smiled.

The cover was, once again, illustrated by Bel.

  "Beautiful."

  The artwork erfect.

It featured Rem and Ram on the cover. Both wore beautiful maid uniforms, and Bel's uyle made them look cuter. The inal Volume 3 had Beatri the cover, but this cover is excellent…

'I o ask Bel to illustrate the covers for Overlord, too.'

The covers and art for Overlord are stunning. Bel could reach 60% of that quality. Even if it's just 60%, it'll be good enough.

Wheered the library, Elma wasn't there.

Three women cared for the library, but Elma was o be found. I approached one of the women and asked, "Is Elma around? Let her know Luan is here to talk to her."

"Luan?" The woman's eyes lit up. "Of course, I'll be right back."

  Damn it, she left!

This is going to take even longer!

  Damn it!

People began pining as the womao find Elma. Mier, Elma appeared with a smile on her face. "You finally showed up. What did you think of the new cover? It's incredible, right?"

"This time, you didn't even ask for my opinion."

  "Are you angry?"

"Of course not. But ime, talk to me when you're the art. I've got some ideas for the covers."

"Got it, I'll take care of that. So, what brings you here? Were you curious about the third volume?" I followed Elma to the sto. "The third volume is being very well received. We started selling it yesterday, and sales have already surpassed 15,000 copies."

  "That's insane."

  "Isn't it?!"

"But I'm not here to talk about the third volume."

"Then you're here to talk about the fourth volume?!"

"I'm here to discuss a new book I will publish."

"If it's not a fourth volume, then that means…" Elma, who reparing tea for us, froze. "You're starting a pletely ory? Are you kidding me?"

"Don't worry, it won't interfere with the release of Re: Zero. I handle writing two stories simultaneously without a problem."

"It's not that I don't trust you… But… maybe readers will worry that you'll Re: Zero, and sales might drop."

"That won't happen." I ughed. "I'll keep publishing volumes regurly, so don't worry."

"I'll trust you!" Elma's eyes sparkled. "But… What's this ory about? I'm curious. Is it like Re: Zero? Or is it something pletely different… Maybe a romance?!"

"It's a world where magic exists, like in Re: Zero, but the story is pletely different. It's not as dramatic, but it's still excellent."

  "I'm already intrigued!"

"When I finish the first volume, I'll bring it for you to read. Oh, a Bel know she'll also illustrate this ory's covers. I wao do illustrations for the book as well."

"I'll tell her. I'm sure she'll be thrilled to hear that."
