She gradually opened her eyes to see a wooden ceiling well polished. She looked around; the walls were made of wood like a summer cabin. Flower scents filled the air, for there were some growing on the wall and the ceiling, making the room a bit classy. The sun could be seen through the window. She was adamant about the people around her just looking around, not being able to speak their language.
The people around her were chattering constantly, looking at her. A man with a mix of gray and black hair sat beside her, looking at her as her head seemed to pace back and forth in the room admiring the scenery. She had a feeling of sadness as she glanced once more around the room, looking at objects and the people there. She felt a jolt of pain in her head, which was followed by a voice in her head.
+ "Skill language beatification is now active."
She turned around to see if anyone heard the voice, but they seemed to be talking while still glancing at her. This felt awkward. The man beside her had pointy ears and could see her distress written on her face. He had been speaking, and she could not understand, so she mostly ignored them. The voice had finished speaking; the pain subsided. The gibberish she could not understand now made sense as she turned, finally looking at the man. He asked;
"Are you ok?"
After a moment of pause, she nodded her head. Now that gesture made all eyes in the room fall on her, making her feel more like a beautiful decoration. This gesture made everyone in the room smile as they began to ask questions concerning her. It was overwhelming not knowing who to answer. The elderly man coughed slightly, waving his hand, and they all stepped out except for one who had a strong physique standing beside him. His presence was intimidating as he gazed upon her.
With the duo looking at each other, they proceeded to ask her name.
"Gilly"
Her tone was quiet but elegant, making both men to glance at each other nce more. With that, the graying-haired man gave her the summary of how she ended up there. She was found by the lake just north of their village by the women who were with her earlier. Then he asked thn he asked the question that had been on their mind before.
"Who are you?"
She muttered the question repeatedly; her mind seemed to explode with the events of before. Though in pieces, she could still make a bit of sense from it. The problem now was she hadno clue of who she was. Cold sweat gathered on her face as she remembered the battle she had lost. But beyond that she had no other memory of where she came from or who she was. She could not remember the name of the people who had died in her memory. This made her feel empty.
"I don't know."
The uncertainty on her face was obvious, but the bulky man had his doubts as he took a glance at her and then closed his eyes. At a table beside the bed was a mirror. She had failed to make any note about how she looked until now. Looking in the mirror, she saw her reflection, which did not match the mental image she had in her head. She had azure hair, and more apparently, her ears were pointed. She glanced at herself in shock, then turned to the man with a face that screamed.

The duo glanced at each other then looked back at her. She constantly checked the color of her hair while touching her ear in turn as she looked at the mirror. Then she turned, seemingly surprised to be asked
"What happened to me?"
The man was shocked as well. Seeing a person surprised about their appearance made him ask.
She hesitated before finally speaking.
"I know I had black hair and a normal ear, but now..."
The duo glanced at each other once more. The situation was more troubling than initially planned. Picking up his staff, he got up from his seat. He had explained she would be served food regularly and that she should rest, bidding her goodbye and leaving the room with the other man following close behind.
....
A few days had passed, and Gilly had used the time she could to reflect on the only memories she had. She had gotten over the feeling of loneliness as she had become quite fond of the man. His name was Valmor, and he was the chief of this town. The man who always came by with him was his son Zin, and another lady whose beauty was like that of a sunflower in a grass field, having golden hair and pupils, was Ephini, his daughter.
They were half-elves, and the town was called Elnor, the seventeenth province in the Elven Dynasty of Elador. Over the past few days, no one asked her about her identity, just treating her as they did toon one of their kin. She was a half-elf, and since Ephini had appraised her, seeing no magic was cast on her as a disguise. Gilly, on the other hand, had come to terms with her new identity, now living everyday life with the emptiness still lingering in her heart.
Ephini had become close to Gilly because she always had a smile on her face, never showing any other emotion, and this made Gilly quite comfortable. Valmor was sitting in the room with Gilly sitting in the chair upright. Her shoulder wound had healed, and the physical pain was gone. Valmor proceeded to tell her about the way the world operates since she had no clue where she was.
The world had a two-class system. The first was a system that manages the affairs of the kingdom. The second was the power system. But people were more likely to be subservient to power; hence, almost all countries had their powerful entities as their leaders. The made people strive for power, as the higher in rank one gets, the more prestige they have. He told her it will make more sense as she experienced the world. He stretched his hand out, gesturing to her;
”Can you stand?"
Following his request, she followed out of the room for the first time since her arrival. She wore a white top and a pair of green shorts at the bottom, which was casual wear in that town. Once outside, revealed a spectacle of a world: strange beasts flying in the air, houses built into large trees, and a very large tree around five hundred meters high towering close to the sky, which drew attention. Her eyes gleamed in awe at the breathtaking view.
Following Valmor and Zin, who had been quiet, they descended an array of stairs that took them into the heart of the streets. They walked towards the large tree, and she drew closer to Valmor, noticing the unusual stare making her feel uncomfortable. Valmor turned to her, smiling. This seemed to have a calming effect on the young girl. The whisper she heard has it that she looked like one of the Elven Queens, but there was no way to verify this.
They approached the large tree, which was now obvious that it was the center of the town. At the base of the large tree was the largest building in the town, with five stories. It had the tree as its supporting foundation, large gates in the front, and people streaming in and out of it. Some of them were flying. The surprise continued as she had seen a lot of strange things getting to this point.
She had not been given the reason, only an explanation of the town and its people, places, and location, like the lake to the north and the inns to the south. Gilly did not mind. She had no idea of this place, so information was key to her. The door was large, at least too much for a human to close alone. She had a lot to ask seeing people fling and doing other unusual stuff. But she held her peace for now.
Inside the library was an array of shelves spanning down the library and up to its ceiling. Some of the shelves were even floating. A large transparent ball was up ahead just beside a desk where a group of people were handing out and collecting books from people who visited.
The ball had seven rings orbiting it, with each having a different color. Six of the rings were moving, and one was stationary, which was silver at the base from where the large ball stood on three gold pedestals. The same floral scent in her room was also present in the library, although this one had a different twist to it and was more pungent than the scent in her room. She stood a moment glancing around before she realized she was falling behind.
