Chapter 1- introduction to Oklahoma
It was the summer of 1980 the year before I moved into the 5th grade that was located in the middle school building. My family transplanted from Nebraska to a small town in Oklahoma my kindergarten year in1975. I remember my first day at my new school like it was yesterday. I did not want to go, because I did not want to leave my mom. You see, I was and always will be known as a mama's baby. There were times I thought I couldn't breathe if I had to be without her. She dropped me off and I come to her leg crying real tears, as she led me to the teacher and as I watched her go I seen the tears falling from her eyes as well. My teacher set me down at a table and I remember a young boy his name was Clint asking me why are you crying, do you miss your mama or something? I remember telling him yes I do, don't you? Then the sweetest teacher Ms Green came to me and said don't worry little one your mommy will be back in about an hour here is a puzzle for you to do. She made my first day bearable.
