Prologue

Ran had lived a good life, not the best but a good one. She had rammed through her dark days and pursued what she wanted to do even if it was a bit late.

Now in her early thirties, she had opened a small bakery on the first floor of her family house. A simple design, fake bricks covering its concrete walls, a large glass window showcasing the newly baked goods, a flowery vine plant creeping up from the dirt up to the second floor. It looked like those bakeries she had seen in those Pinterest arts she had constantly ogled.

Ran looked up at the bright blue sky at this early day and couldn’t help but smile at her new future ahead… Till a fast-moving metallic behemoth of a truck rammed her straight into an electrical pole, painting the glass wall with a mosaic of lumpy clumps of flesh, thick blood and streaks of hair.

A life ended as quickly as that, till she opened her eyes once more.
