Lord Eru looks at me smiling. We gaze at each other without saying a word, waiting for our moment to attack.
"You know, I'm impressed by how much you've grown since we first met, you were such a defenseless little rabbit then," he says.
I feel the need to attack, but I know he's trying to control the pace of the battle with his words.
So I wait for a few seconds. Then I move towards him and begin to attack with my blows. He dodges my attacks, but my speed prevents him from counterattacking. However, he ends up hitting me as well. If this continues, maybe I won't be able to save the wounded. So I know I have only one option.
I start to think about the people I have gained Herencias from, I focus on their memories, their feelings, their dreams, and the wounds they carry. Then I attack, and for a moment I can use Jasmine's mark and start healing my wounds.
"What is this? The healing Herencia of the Lengua Venenosa clan?" he says confused.
I use Ragnar's mark to recover my stamina. Lord Eru shoots at me, but then I use Hoomul's mark to increase the mass of my muscles to block, and as soon as I manage to close the distance, I grab the hand holding his gun and make him drop it.
I'm about to grab his other hand, but then Lord Eru uses his sword to cut my wrist and free himself from my grip.
"I can't believe it. Someone capable of using Herencias from different clans," he says.
When he says that, his golden marks suddenly spread and turn blue, extending to his right side.
"Is my time to show off. I'll show you what happens when the true potential of a Herencia is reached."
Instead of attacking, it seems that Lord Eru wants me to take the initiative. I don't know what he's planning or the effects of his new mark, but I don't see any other option but to play along.
I use a combination of Herencias to throw him off balance and prevent him from knowing my next move. However, this time Lord Eru can see through my movements even before I activate the next Herencia. Lord Eru takes advantage and cuts me in different parts of my body.
I step back, activating Jasmine's Herencia to heal.
"What's happening? What type of Herencia is that?"
"Very awesome isn't it? I can predict your movements even before you make them. This is the Herencia that will bring order to the Cave!"
Lord Eru rushes at me at great speed. I try to defend myself, but he predicts my attacks and stops them even before I can make them. He stabs me several times, and his onslaught of attacks doesn't allow me to react in time.
"Tell me how you do it! I don't believe you're the product of several generations of mixtures. That just makes Herencias weaker. That's why the Clans have always been the strongest. But even among the clans, the Adamantita, the Pu?o de Fuego treated us as they wanted. But now it's going to be our turn!"
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
Lord Eru tortures me by stabbing his sword in my body. As a desperate measure, I touch Lord Eru's mark. An electric current runs through my body, and images of his memories resurface.
The smell of manure envelops me, and I feel pain as someone is pressing my face with their foot into what seems to be excrement.
"Haha, look how weak he is."
"He's the son of that loser, isn't he?"
"You mean the submissive Leader?"
"That's the one!"
"So what should we do with you?" he says, pressing even harder, preventing me from breathing.
Before he can do anything to me, suddenly screams are heard, and the pressure is relieved from my head.
When I get up, I jump in fear when seeing the face of a wolf, but then I realize it's a man in a wooden wolf mask. The wind blows, causing his hood to ripple, revealing his white hair momentarily.
I'm stunned looking at him. The red-haired men on the ground. I think I had heard something about someone in a wolf mask saving the Dorados, but I thought it was just a story. The man withdraws to leave before I can say anything to him.
"I'll become someone like him, someone who protects the weak and shows oppressors their place."
Since then, I have dedicated myself to training day and night to become someone like him. Training in the rabbit forest, I meet a man who trains people as part of a group called the tamers. I train with them until I become the strongest among them.
With these skills, I'm able to defend myself and eventually help others and keep the red-haired men in check. I even fight side by side with the Lobo Rojo himself sometimes.
However, one day, the great fire clan decides to take action, and they send warriors to the forest and attack our small refuge, using fire as their weapon. They manage to kill the tamer.
"Take the others and use the cave system to leave the forest," I tell the tamer's daughter, who carries my son in her arms.
The strongest Hounds stay to stop the attackers. However, after a while, we are overwhelmed by the fire and smoke. The sense of smell of the Hounds and my vision are affected, making us almost useless in battle, while the Adamantita walk on fire as if it is normal.
Eventually, only I remain, and the Adamantita surround me. The leader pressing his foot against my face.
"Your little circus is over," he says.
"How did you know about our refuge?" I say clenching my teeth, trying to stand up.
The Adamantita leader laughs.
"It was the pathetic Dorados leader. He sold us the information in exchange for his safety."
My eyes widen, surprise turning into anger. I had made the mistake of trusting my father. I had told him about my plans to help the clan in the hope that we could improve our relationship, but he had decided to submit. He was a damn coward.
I close my eyes and concentrate. I try to remember all my training for the last 15 years. I visualize the image of the red wolf fighting against the Adamantita.
"Captain! The great shield has ordered us to return to the clan!"
"What? We're about to finish here."
"A monster is attacking the Pu?o de Fuego Clan! At this rate, it will reach the Adamantita clan! The great Shield has ordered everyone to return immediately!"
"A monster? Very well. Forget about those who escaped. But, I won't let this one get away."
Then everything suddenly becomes clear. Now I know what my destiny is. I start to feel as if my whole body is sharpening, the marks of my Herencia activation turn blue, and then my vision is enveloped in a blue world full of waves as if I were underwater. And then I can see it. I can see the future. A future where the weak destroy the strong. The golden age.
