Chapter 66 – Benefits of Volantis

Aside from the new abilities obtained from Advancing to the Sequence 6 Beast Knight, Valkorion also had a considerable physical strength, as his already existing physical capabilities were a great boon.

He predicted that he was at least twice or so physically more powerful than he was before, which was an outstanding result. Previously, he could lift around one tonne of pure weight on average, but now it would be two and something, according to his high-speed calcutions.

Simultaneously, he also felt his combat proficiency increased by some degree, as he felt that some things about the mistakes and things that he didn't understand about the Juyo Sword Style or Hakuda were causing him some problems, or the ones that were unclear to him, were now translucent before his eyes.

Valkorion had to admit that he was very satisfied with advancing to the Sequence 6 Beast Knight. Now that he had obtained more power, he was a bit more confident in the mission in the Orange Shores.

"It seems that the visit to the Vontis yielded a lot of benefits..."

He muttered as it was clear that they would need to make a move for the Orange Shores.

There was some serious need to properly acclimatize to his newfound abilities, that would take some more time to do properly. Because his physical strength was enhanced by a steep degree, as he was around twice or so stronger than before, Valkorion would need two or three days.

Fortunately for him right now, Mellisandre had already left for somewhere that he didn't know anything about, and in truth, he didn't really even care much about that. He only hoped that the red priestess was right because Vontis was a bastion of the Church of the Dragon Gods.

Just by walking through the streets, he saw several priests from the Church of the Dragon Gods, and even the temples of the Dragon Gods were retively full of people. There were many followers of the Dragon Gods living in the Vontis, and the city was rgely religious.

Nevertheless, he would be soon enough leaving this pce, and that was for the better. Though he still needed to return back to purchase some sves, afterward, he didn't want to have anything to do with the Vontis for a very long time.

Due to his affiliation with the future Lord of Light and Astral, he was essentially the greatest enemy of the Church of the Dragon Gods. And Valkorion was a perfect fence sitter, he would be putting himself into the danger.

At this point, and in his future endeavors, Valkorion realized that the existence of the Valyrian Freehold was constraining and contradictory to his needs. If he were one of the 40 Dragonlord Families or born into the Triarchy, he would be standing in the opposite direction.

  But now?

He really felt that the Doom of the Freehold was for the best.

Mainly because of the Doom, it would also mean that the Church of the Dragon Gods would fall from grace, and with some luck, the Five-Headed Dragon God would perish as well, and Astral would rise.

That would mean he would get a True God as his backer.

With such a background, there would only be a few organizations that would be able to stand against him. Having the backing of a True God was something that not many could boast about, and Valkorion wanted to obtain the backing of a True God for himself and his endeavors.

It would make his life countless times easier.

Not even two days ter, there were any traces of Mellisandre, though he was confident that he would return. He was sure that if she was captured by the Church of the Dragon Gods, they would already boast about that.

They were a really boastful bunch when it came to their conflict with the Red Temple, and because there were not any rumors regarding this, he predicted that she was taking care of some business of the Temple of the Lord of Light.

During the time they spent together, he came to the realization that while she was indeed only Low-Sequence Beoynder right now, most probably Sequence 6 Provoker of the Lord of Light Pathway, her position within the Red Temple itself was rather special.

If she was just an ordinary member of the Red Temple, then she wouldn't have been sent on the mission by the higher-ups like this, or more precisely, 'He' wouldn't have sent her on the mission like this.

Valkorion predicted that she must have some pretty unique status within the Red Temple and most probably was someone who was specifically cultivated by the Red Temple. And another thing that he observed, which was something that he would have missed if he hadn't read about it in the library of the Tenebraenys Manor, he was 99% confident that she was a descendant of someone from the Darkness Pathway.

Someone who was very powerful on the Darkness Pathway. He knew that because, apparently, his own father was walking on the Darkness Pathway, and there were a few notebooks about the Sequences of the Darkness Pathway and notes about ideas to advance to the Sequence 1 Shadow Binder.

He noticed that Melisandre had several traits that were confirmed to belong to the Shadow Binders, and he was rather curious if she herself was aware of such fact or not, but for the time being, he kept that information for himself only.

For the past two days, he wasn't doing anything else aside from fighting in the Grand Vonetene Arena to acclimatize his newfound strength from advancing to the Sequence 6 Beast Knight.

Within the Grand Vontene Arena, he got to fight plenty of opponents, mostly a good number of the Low Sequence Beyonders. Most of them were retively okey, but none of them were a match for the Syer Gotrik Gurnisson in terms of raw power or skill.

Though, he also fought a few monsters that were captured by the svers and dropped onto the Grand Vonteene Arena. He fought against a few Orcish Warriors who were pretty powerful.

An average Orc, even if he wasn't at the Path of the Extraordinary, was around twice or thrice stronger than an average man. Orcs were dangerous fighters, and their culture was all about fighting and being warriors.

Every orc, be it a woman, man, child, young, elderly, or even ill, was a warrior, and they were pretty dangerous.

Still, within the Grand Vontene Arena, they had captured a few ordinary orc warriors, whom he killed because the orcs would be defeated only when they were killed. They would rather die than to admit defeat.

During the two days, he managed to get rather a good grasp on his newfound abilities, and while his condition wasn't really perfect, it was way better than before, and he could fight using all of his abilities to the maximum.

He was also experimenting with the abilities Animal Sense and Supernatural Resistance to a certain degree. Of course, the Animal Sense was a rather useful ability, and he found that he could, for now, just convey his intentions to the animal he was trying to communicate with, but he couldn't talk with them.

For that, he would need to start progressing in the digestion of the Potion, but for that, he would need to use the Acting Method, and that was impossible without the Beast Familiar.
