The sound of crickets echoed throughout the night. Everyone was sleeping soundly on their beds. Everything around them felt a peaceful feeling. Noelia suddenly woke up, he felt thirsty, so he went to grab a drink. As he was in the sed floor kit, he heard the sound of broken gss.

  “Norris,” he said, waking him up.

  “What?” Norris replied half awake.

  “I heard something downstairs, let’s go check it out,” said Noelia.

  The two went downstairs to iigate, but they couldn’t see clearly as it was dark. Noelia flipped the switd the lights turned on. There was no o shattered gss on the floor. A sudden movement was heard and unbeknownst to Noelia, the individual showed up to try to stab him. Norris quickly kicked them away and it turned into a fight.

  Norris and the individual struggled against each other, but they lost to his bat skills. Norris pihem down on the floor. When he was about to open the mask, they kicked him away and fled the area thewo immediately gave chase. Rosa heard the otion and rushed down.

  The individual was quite fast, Norris called for backup but then Noelia began to get tired. “Hold on a bit, Noelia!” said Norris.

  “Right!” said Noelia, tinuing the chase.

  Noelia ran as fast as he could, rushing to the individual. He tried to jump on them but he failed and fell. His hand was at reach, so he grabbed them on the leg which made them tripped and fell. They kicked Noelia’s face making his nose bleed, his ha go and they escaped his grasp.

  “Noelia, are you okay?” Norris asked, pulling him up. “e on, we have to tinue chasing them!”

  They tio hastefully chase them again. As soon as Norris mao catch up to them, he lunged himself and tackled them to the ground, grappling them tightly. A knife ulled out, Norris reacted quickly and evaded their strike.

  “A knife in a fist fight… what are the odds…” said Norris. “Luckily, I have a gun!”

  Norris pulled his gun out and fired a shot, the individual agilely dodged a bullet. They pushed away Norris, the gun was dropped. The individual ran to grab the gun but they tripped after Norris kicked their leg. The two wrestled each other for the gun, Norris mao let go of them. But he was then stabbed in the back.

  “Norris!” Noelia yelled.

  Norris fell on the ground bleeding from his injury. Noelia somehow got hold of the gun, he was ordered by Norris to shoot but his hand was trembling. He never had the idea of taking lives, even his enemies.

  The individual then ran towards him, Noelia panicked and fired the gun. The gunshot could be heard in the distance as it echoed. The bullet missed but it revealed a shog truth. Noelia was shocked as soon as he saw the mask break down.

  “Ethan…!” said Noelia.

  “Curses!” Ethan grunted. “Seems that my identity is uncovered.”

  “Now, I’m really going to kill you!”

  Ethan charged and swung his knives multiple times at Noelia. He dodged every strike, nearly slig him. Noelia slipped down and the gun flew away. When he was about to be finished by Ethan, Norris shot him.

  “It was a miracle that the gun nded near me,” said Norris, lying down on the floor.

  Backup had arrived followed by Rosa and the kids. “Ma! Sofia! Julio!” said Noelia. The three rushed to Noelia while the backups teo Norris. Elena also arrived there, she was called by someone who was Norris’ colleague.

  “Norris!” Elena called out. “What happened?!”

  “Hey Elena… I think fucked up this time,” said Norris while coughing.

  Elena’s hand was drenched with blood, “Norris, you’re bleeding heavily!” said Elena worriedly.

  “Damn, that’s messed up,” Norris replied.

  “Padre! Are you hurt?!” Sofia asked.

  “No, I’m fine,” Noelia answered.

  “Who was that guy…?” Julio asked, looking at the body.

  “Metaphorically, a memory of the past,” Noelia answered.

  Ethan somehow got up, the shot didn’t hit his vitals. They were shocked at how he survived. He sloroached Noelia and his family while bleeding. He picked up the knife and was ready to kill them.

  “You took her away from me and now… I’m going to take what you have!” said Ethan.

  “What are you talking about?!” Noelia asked fusedly.

  Something struoelia’s mind, he realized what Etha. Could it be that he was talking about Maria? Noelia finally uood the situatiohan was trying to get his revenge. Rosa covered her grandchildren in her arms as Ethan roag.

  “Now die!” Ethan yelled furiously.

  Then anunshot was heard. Ethan g his heart looking at a hole, the bullet had hit his heart and he died from it. Noelia stared at Ethan’s lifeless body on the ground. Despite the feeling of relief, his body was trembling and frightened by the sight of it. Noelia looked to see who fired the shot.

  “Yeah… You’re not supposed to be standing, fucker…” said Norris.

  It was Norris.

  His body still had little energy left but he soon colpsed from loss of blood. He coughed out blood and started to feel weak.

  “Norris! Norris!” Elena pled.
