  Lucas had inally thought Chimchar had lost the ability to fight, but seeing it still mao stand, he offered his encement.

  "Chim-char~ "

  Beied so easily was something Chimchar could not accept. Its strong will ignited a fire within it. Slowly, Chimchar lifted its head and gred at Elekid, its eyes burning with an iy that seemed to scorch everything in its path.

  "Bzzt~"

  Unfortunately, Elekid was not impressed by Chimchar's efforts. It rolled its eyes and smirked with pt.

  A little monkey is still just a little monkey. What's good in it that you stand again?

  I knocked you out the first time, and I'll do it again!

  As Elekid taunted, Chimchar slowly stood up, fmes rising from the tip of its short tail, a red searing glow radiating from its body.

  Bze, activate!The power of Fire-type moves is enhanced!

  "Bzzt~"

  Elekid looked down from its higher position with disdain, clearly unimpressed by Chimchar's attempt to activate Bze.

  Bze? What good is that? A few hits and you'll be knocked down again.

  Did you really think you could…

  Suddenly, Chimchar's body emitted a brilliant light. The mysterious glow surrou, rapidly ging its shape within the light.

  "Bzzt?!"

  What?!

  I was just kidding! You really evolved?!

  Elekid stared and stunned, uo believe what it was seeing.

  It had only been a passing thought, but Chimchar had actually evolved!

  However, Chimchar's evolution didn't stop there.

  In the light of evolution, Chimchar's small body grew taller, its frail arms became more muscur, and its once short tail gradually lengthened, still burning with fmes at the tip.

  It was clear that the evolved Monferno had signifitly improved in strength.

  "Wahcha!"

  As the white light dissipated Monferno, its injuries mostly healed bounced on the spot. Its fists moved like phantom images, creating gusts of wind that blew across the battlefield.

  It seemed that Monferno had successfully learned Mach Punch!

  "Excellent, you've evolved into Monferno! Let's finish off Elekid now!"

  Lucas smiled fidently.

  With Bze and evolution, Monferno's power was undoubtedly suffit to defeat Elekid.

  "Wahcha!"

  Monferno, now more posed, raised its fist toward Elekid.

  "Evolution? So what?"

  Paul's expression remained calm, showing no sign of being pressured by Chimchar's evolution.

  In battle, the more posed the traihe more secure the Pokémon feels.

  "Elekid, Thunder!"

  Elekid swung its arm, gathering energy for a powerful Thutack.

  A surge of electricity shot out, aimed directly at Monferno.

  "Monferno, use Fmethrower!"

  Monferno inhaled deeply, releasing a torrent of fmes that were several times hotter than before.

  With the power of Bze, the already powerful Fmethrower became even stronger, easily peting with Thunder.

  The two attacks collided, with Fmethrower pushing through, breaking Thunder's attad tinuing toward Elekid.

  "Dodge!"

  Seeing the danger, Elekid immediately used Agility, speeding up and dodging the fire attack by leaping to the side.

  "Mach Punch!"

  Suddenly, a figure appeared in front of Elekid, unleashing a flurry of puoo fast to be seen with the naked eye.

  Fortunately, Elekid had trained in close bat and mao notice the attack. Without hesitation, it threunch to defend itself.

  "Boom!"

  After several exges, Elekid's expression ged, and a sharp pain shot through its head.

  With the intense pain, Monferno's follow-up punches nded, knog Elekid flying.

  Elekid was talented in pung, but its small size couldn't pensate for the physical limitations. If it had evolved into aivire, it might have been able to withstand the attack.

  But there was no "if."

  "Monferno, Fire Spin!"

  Seeing Elekid flying, Lucas immediately anded Monferno to pursue.

  "Wahcha!"

  Monferno k couldn't give Elekid a ce. It leapt into the air, quickly rolling and transf into a giant fming wheel, crashing into the falling Elekid.

  "Mag Rise!"

  At the st moment, Elekid opes eyes, its body crag with electricity as it created a magic field, using it to levitate upwards and avoid the firewheel.

  The Fire Spin missed and flew past Elekid.

  "Work Up!"

  Elekid didn't waste any time, immediately activating Work Up to enhas strength and adjust its state.

  "Don't give it a ce, Fmethrower!"

  As the Fire Spin dissipated, Monferno nded and released a pilr of fme from its mouth.

  Unfortunately, Elekid's Work Up had already successfully increased its defense and special defense.

  Special Defense and Attack Boosted! electric attack will deal double damage!

  But Elekid, having used a move, was uo avoid the ining attack.

  In Lucas' hopeful gaze just as the Fmethrower was about to hit, Paul's voice rang out again.

  "Protect!"

  Ekekid crossed its arms in front of itself, and a green shield appeared, pletely blog the ining fmes.

  "What?!"

  Seeing this, Lucas' heart sank.

  "Thunder Punch!"

  Elekid dived down from the air, its body crag with golden lightning. It shot toward Monferno like a lightnieor.

  "Monferno, Fire Spin!"

  Monferno, undismayed, transformed into a firewheel again and soared to meet the ining lightning.

  "Boom!!"

  An explosi out, and both Pokémon were sent flying.

  "Dig!"

  As soon as it hit the ground, Monferno disappeared into a hole, leaving only ay space behind.

  Elekid wary hovered three meters above the ground, carefully watg the terrain.

  This height erfect to lure out any underground Pokémon and still allow Elekid time to prepare defenses.

  "Charge, Work Up!"

  Paul ordered.

  In the air, Elekid swung its arms, charging up energy while also giving itself mental boosts, preparing for its move.

  "Monferno, Fmethrower!"

  Lucas wasn't about to let Elekid power up.

  The ground cracked open, and Monferno shot out a burst of fme.

  However, Elekid had already prepared. Stopping its Work Up, it altered its position using Magic Levitation, dodging the fme attack.

  In the blink of an eye, Elekid had finished charging.

  Special Defense Increased! Electric-type attack's power doubled!

  "Thunder!"

  Paul called out, and Lucas quickly followed.

  "Double Team!"

  A terrifying bolt of lightning surged from Elekid's body, threatening to obliterate everything below.

  Monferno didn't hesitate, activating Double Team, creating multiple copies of itself scattered across the battlefield, all staring up at the sky awaiting the electriishment to e.

  The area was flooded with thunder, and Monferno's es were zapped out of existene by one.

  In the blink of ahe field was empty—Monferno's presence had pletely vanished.

  "Now! Fire Spin!"

  Just as the real Monferno hidden underground and prepared its final move, a huge firewheel shot out from the ground, rag toward Elekid.

  It seemed the Double Team was just a diversion to draw Elekid's attention away from Monferno's true location.

  But Lucas and Monferno didn't notice the slight smirk on Paul's face.

  As the firewheel approached, a protective shield appeared behind Elekid, blog the attack.

  "Bzzt~"

  Elekid slowly turned around, crossing its arms as it activated Protebsp;once again, smiling fidently.

  The firewheel collided with the shield boung back.

  "Thunder!"

  As the shield dissipated, Elekid quickly unleashed its Thunder, striking Monferno out of the sky.

  "Boom!"

  After crashing into the ground, Monfernled to get up, staring at Elekid, and uo get up again.
