chapter 1

I stared out the window of the car. It was snowing. The snowflakes were settling on the outside of the car. It was too foggy to see anything outside of my window. So, I sat back in my seat; we were almost there. I pulled out my earphones and hit shuffle, why did I have to leave my friends for the entire winter holidays just to go skiing? I didn’t even like skiing. “SHIT”- I look up from my phone and see a car barrelling towards us. Its brakes were squealing and steaming. Begging to find some traction on the icy ground. It slowly began to career sideways. Their side doors were staring into our windscreen. I could see the screaming faces of children in the car. I screamed at dad to swerve but he was already turning the wheel as far to the side as it went. The last thing I remember was my dad yelling “IT’LL BE OKAY LUTE, DON’T WOR- “before several tonnes of metal crashed into us. I don’t want to remember this.
