MAGIC ACADEMY /// FIRST // ULTRACONNECTING TO THE ULTRAFOREIGN ULTRASYSTEM

'What the fuck? No.' V1 denied immediately. Although its AI put everything else to shame, boasting near infinite processing prowess and Nokia-3310-level-unbreaking firewalls, caution would never be redundant when dealing with an unknown program.

  [WARNING!]

[FOREIGN SYSTEM ATTEMPTING TO BREACH FIREWALL]

'Oh my ones and zeroes! Fine! //REQUEST PROGRAM ID'

A trickle of information returned following the request.

'World Wide Operating System? WWOS? That's quite megalomaniac of you.'

The strange program once again requested connection. V1 simulated doing a "fine, whatever" motion in its processor, and requested the purpose of the connection.

Then the fucker requested access to its memories.

"*Robotic scream of frustration*" That startled the two humans standing before V1.

'Fine, you better give me answers.'

  Three ticks later, it answered.

  [WWOS]

  [TERMINAL SUBSTITUDE]

'Oh.' V1's processors didn't pick up any sign of fabrication.

  [WWOS]

  [REQUESTING CONNECTION]

  'Okay sure.'

It felt the connection established, and a familiar interface appeared, albiet a little blue and with a few changes.

V1 also noticed that this screen didn't need a physical medium to be shown.

  'Huh, neat.'

The Machine scanned the interface with satisfaction. The design was efficient, funny and detailed, which was another plus over the old terminal.

V1 can now even upgrade its arms and armor without the need to scavenge, if what was written was anything to go by. It was official, this WS was way better than the old terminal.

With that out of the way, the vampiric Nikon returned its attention to the two humans. Oh, did I mention that all that interaction took place in under two seconds?

"O Great Archdemon! I called upon the today to seek thy power! I have already prepared offeri-"

"Talhan, that's not a Demon." The man was rudely interrupted by the woman behind him.

"Oh... but I was sure to connect the summoning circle to Hell?"

"Whatever it was doing in Hell, it is not a Demon, but a... Supreme Machine?"

V1 detected something akin to the feeling of its firewall being under attack right before the woman said it's Type. The sensation traced back to its connection with WS. Feeling betrayed by the program, it had nearly failed to notice that the foreign program hadn't actually attacked its firewall. Rather, it triggered only the discomfort to warn V1 about the siphoning of information presumably caused by the woman's Skill, and its love for the System returned. It then dumped trash data into the connection, causing the woman to flinch in pain and held her head.

"Miss Ethercall!" The man shot up, reaching out to hold the woman.

"Wait! don't leave the summoning posi- oh frimp." Before she could finish her sentence, the magic circle below V1 dimmed and shattered. It could feel an invisible wall that had been separating it and the two humans had broken.

Is the current status screen format good?
