Chapter 66. 5 stages of hell.

A while later, Hilda's group is running, teleporting wherever they can, continuously meeting White's group due to being stuck in a square area due to the amount of web-like monsters.

“Shila!! Teleport us out!” Hilda shouts, teleporting without a care for her mana.

“I can't! Didn't you read the notification properly?!” Shila shouts back as Hilda gets slightly confused.

“What?” Hilda said as Shila popped the notification in front of her.

In the bottom right corner lies a couple of small bolded words, “You may not leave until you beat level 33-37”

  “...”

“What the hell?!” Hilda shouts, her face hitting White's face as they both run out of mana, still hearing a ridiculous number of footsteps running in their direction.

As the footsteps get closer, Hilda sends a wave of sword qi in its direction, hoping to do some and get a response.

“What the hell?!” Red's voice suddenly sounds out as she comes out of the darkness into the low luminescent glow of Shila and White’s system, riding a dodo bird.

“Where did you even get a… never mind, find us the way out!” Hilda shouts, holding Jamine in front of her, preparing to use her as an acidic weapon.

“If I knew the way out do you think I would still be here?!” She shouts back, no longer caring for the fact that Hilda is… was also a source of fear for her.

A while later they are all hiding inside White's shield, their dread increasing as his mana slowly decreases, one by one.

“How much is left?” Red asked, “112,” White answered, causing Hilda to get even more anxious since his mana was 120 a couple of minutes ago.

“How about we look around so we don't wait here for our deaths?” White’s system said, both him and White not being as scared as Red and Hilda but still nervous.

“Sure, good idea, any opposition?” White asked, removing his shield as they began to travel.

After traveling for a while, they meet someone unexpected, green. Green having found himself receiving the same greeting gift red did as he barely dodges. Hilda still holds onto Jamine for protection as Shila hides in the territory.

“Woah, that was a close one,” he said while looking behind at the still-traveling sword qi.

“What is this? A couple of the strongest on the leaderboard are here?” He said while looking at them before realizing that Hilda and Red were both hiding behind White, prepared to use him as a meat shield.

“Don't worry, I'll protect you two,” He said, the other three not responding due to him being the lowest level here.

“You? Protect us?” Hilda said as he looked at her, “I'll walk in behind so nothing sneaks up behind as Aiden can protect you guys at the front. Of course, if you want I'll go away?” He said while Hilda thought for a moment but Red immediately agreed, allowing him to join.

“Screw it, as long as I'm safe I don't care what I have to do,” Hilda thinks to herself as they eventually reach a room, seemingly the exit along with orange there.

“How did you get here before this guy?” Hilda asked as she pointed to White.

“His water form can get affected by acid, mine is a poisonous gas, it can't get affected more than it already is,” Orange replies, wanting to not annoy Hilda but also limit interactions with her.

Orange walks out of the way, showing a door behind her with an empty key held in it.

“I can't open it, I think it needs a ke—” Orange said before getting interrupted by the sound of Hilda’s sword qi hitting against the door and breaking it down.

“...” The room stays silent for a short while before Orange turns into poison mist and enters the room before coming back out again almost instantly.

“They have monsters that suck in gas, I'm not going alone,” Orange said while leaning against the wall and crossing her arms.

“Go,” Hilda said, kicking White in before following behind with Jamie in her arms, Shila following behind.

  Notification.

  Floor 34, escape.

Hilda reads, this time remembering to check the bottom corner and finding some small words, indicating that she can't leave.

As they enter, they find themselves tripping over one another like dominos due to the rest following behind instantly.

Hilda teleports herself up, walking over them as she looked around, finding the environment mostly the same but now with little organic holes in the walls, spitting out acid and poisonous mist slowly, not enough to hurt her but still enough to affect her slightly with its effects bound to increase over time.

They slowly follow through the narrow corridors, all behind White to his slight annoyance as they eventually find a room with 3 red pancaked-shaped objects stacked on another.

Hilda curiously approaches, placing Jamine down and poking it, finding it oddly soft and wet as she keeps poking it despite White telling her to stop.

“Calm down, it's just a couple oversized red pancakes, what could happen?” Hilda said, dismissing White's concern before she noticed Shila and Jamine backing up before turning back to look at the pancake, finding a small line in the center, slowly getting bigger as a massive tongue came out, attempting to attack Hilda along with a bunch of flesh and organs.

“This is so messed up…” Hilda cuts off its tongue, wiping her sword with a tissue Shila bought for her just a moment ago before going back to join the others in a straight line as they continue searching for the next exit.

“By the way, there are 5 stages in total, each worse than the last,” Shila said as everybody stopped to look at her, hoping she was joking.

“Yeah, there's 5 stages of this hell,” White's system adds on, shattering any hopes of them joking.

“What the hell,” They all think something similar as they end up at a 4-way intersection, footsteps approaching in all directions.

  “Shit,” Hilda mutters.
