Chapter 55: A Debt of Gratitude, Three Marks of Fate!

Inside the treasure vault lay a myriad of treasures, including divine weapons radiating with sacred light and an assortment of exotic flowers and fruits. Numerous boxes contained items Xu Fang couldn't even identify, but considering they were stored in the vault, he was confident that they were all valuable goods!

“It’s true what they say: without a night’s grass, a horse can’t grow fat; and without windfall, a person can’t become rich! This is a financial windfall!”

Xu Fang surveyed the treasures with satisfaction and immediately expanded the Void Technique, swallowing the entire contents of the vault like a whale gulping down its prey!

He even took every luminous pearl that illuminated the vault, leaving not a single one behind!

What was once a vault brimming with exquisite treasures now resembled a locust plague, having left not a single hair for the Bull Demon King!

After completing this heist, Xu Fang collected the body of the lobster spirit, transforming into its likeness, and swaggered out of the vault.

“Having emptied the Bull Demon King’s treasure vault, now it’s time to stir up some trouble for his wedding…”

Xu Fang rubbed his chin, crafting a plan in his mind, a mischievous grin creeping onto his lips. “What if I steal the bride? I wonder how that lecherous dragon will react…”

The thought amused him, prompting a chuckle. After ensuring the coast was clear, he cast an invisibility spell and slipped toward the inner sanctum of the Sea King’s Palace.

Finding the bridal chamber was easy; it was adorned with red and green decorations, and several clam maidens were stationed at the entrance.

Once inside, Xu Fang transformed into a wisp of wind, seamlessly blending into the room, where he soon spotted a stunning figure seated before a vanity in a phoenix crown and colorful attire.

However, aside from her moving eyes, the rest of her body was utterly still, clearly ensnared by a binding spell.

“This lecherous dragon is as expected, taking the bride by force!”

Xu Fang felt no guilt about stealing the bride.

In the room, besides the bride, there was a hunchbacked old woman preparing her for the ceremony.

Xu Fang’s heart skipped a beat. “The Bull Demon King has good taste.”

The bride was extraordinarily beautiful, her large, expressive eyes darting around, clearly trying to break free from the binding spell.

After contemplating for a moment, Xu Fang blew a breath toward the old woman, and instantly, a perfect replica of the bride appeared!

  “Come with me, bride!”

Xu Fang grinned mischievously and quickly produced the Beast Bag from the void, placing both the bride and the little fox inside. He then cleared his throat, adopting an elderly voice, and said ambiguously, “The bride is ready; you can take her now.”

“Thank you for your hard work, old lady.”

Immediately, the clam maidens waiting outside entered the room, spotting Xu Fang disguised as the old woman alongside the replica bride.

“Let’s cover the bride’s face, and she can be taken away.”

Xu Fang bent slightly, picking up a veil and signaled the clam maidens to drape it over the faux bride.

Watching the clam maidens carefully escort the old woman out, Xu Fang nearly burst into laughter. “Bull Demon King, no need to thank me.”

After this little charade, Xu Fang transformed back into a wisp of wind, exiting the Sea King’s Palace and reverting to his true form.

  ……

  Somewhere in the North Sea.

Due to the wedding of the Bull Demon King, many demons had gathered to celebrate, making the area feel somewhat secluded.

Xu Fang floated down on a cloud, finally letting out a sigh of relief.

He had to admit, he played the thief quite successfully this time.

Not only had he emptied the Bull Demon King’s treasure vault, but he had also stolen the bride right under the noses of thousands of demons!

He couldn’t help but wonder how the Bull Demon King would react upon discovering this.

“Are you the Bull Demon King’s bride?”

Xu Fang asked as he extracted the bride from the Beast Bag.

He didn’t sense anything particularly mystical about her at first, yet she radiated a rich aura of celestial energy.

For some reason, he also detected a faint trace of primordial energy coming from the girl!

“Does this little girl possess some innate treasure?”

Xu Fang pondered, perplexed. The girl blinked her large eyes and curiously asked, “Why are people from the Heavenly Court doing this?”

“How did you know I’m from the Heavenly Court?”

  Xu Fang was intrigued.

At that moment, he was neither wearing heavenly armor nor had he revealed his identity, yet she recognized him as a being from the Heavenly Court without hesitation!

Her tone was not questioning; it was assured.

“Ha! Of course, I have my methods.”

The girl replied, “But aren’t you going to undo my binding spell?”

  “Oh, apologies, I forgot.”

Xu Fang quickly lifted the binding spell from her, and as soon as he did, the girl tore off her phoenix crown and bridal attire, shredding them to pieces.

A satisfied, liberated smile spread across her face. “You Heavenly Court folks are quite something! To steal me away is one thing, but turning that old woman into my likeness? I like it!”

“Ha ha! I can’t wait to see the Bull Demon King’s expression when he lifts the veil and finds that old woman instead.”

As the girl laughed, clearly amused by the thought of the Bull Demon King’s bewildered reaction, Xu Fang couldn’t help but join in her laughter.

“By the way, since you saved me, I should give you a gift to express my gratitude.”

With that, the girl grabbed Xu Fang’s right hand and quickly tapped a few times on his palm. “This will serve as a token of our acquaintance; if you ever need me, this will be your proof!”

Xu Fang felt a searing pain in his palm and looked down to see three fiery marks emblazoned there.

“Brother, I’ll never forget this life-saving grace. Until we meet again!”

After finishing her words, the girl waved her hand elegantly and flew away on a cloud, her voice fading in the distance. “Oh, I forgot to tell you, my name is Xin’er. Don’t forget it…”

  “What the hell…”

Xu Fang barely had time to react before the girl had casually completed everything, swiftly departing as if she had urgent business.

“What a strange woman! You didn’t even ask my name, yet you talk of gratitude? Don’t you know what it means to owe someone a debt of gratitude?”

Xu Fang silently grumbled, shaking his head at the direction she had vanished.

“What about you? What’s your name?”

Xu Fang turned to the little fox and asked as he retrieved her from the Beast Bag.

The little fox curiously looked up at Xu Fang and replied sweetly, “I’m Little Li. What’s your name?”

“Hey, why is it that today I keep running into rude ones? I’m your benefactor, Xu Fang!”
