All of Sun Wukong’s Primordial Qi was in Bull Demon King’s possession. While the other demon kings might escape, letting Bull Demon King get away with the Primordial Qi was absolutely unacceptable.
In the original tale, Bull Demon King appeared to be a simple and honest figure. But compared to that, this version of Bull Demon King was completely different—his cunning and intelligence were on par with some of the most powerful figures. If he were truly as simple and honest as he seemed, then everyone in the world would be a saint.
The ones who appear the most simple and foolish are often the smartest!
Xu Fang increased his speed, already catching sight of Bull Demon King, who was fleeing with the Primordial Qi. Although Bull Demon King was powerful, his speed was a significant weakness. His cloud-riding techniques were no match for Xu Fang or Sun Wukong.
Perhaps the only one who could rival their speed was Yang Chan with her Cloud-Walking Art.
“Bull Demon King, today is your death day!”
Xu Fang gripped the Ghost-Mourning Blade, watching Bull Demon King desperately fleeing with the Primordial Qi.
Since Xu Fang had already broken one of Bull Demon King’s horns in their previous encounter, the demon king now had only one horn. Combined with his frantic escape, he looked utterly pathetic, like a stray dog with its tail between its legs.
“What?! He’s already caught up?!”
Hearing Xu Fang’s furious roar from behind, Bull Demon King’s heart raced. How had Xu Fang closed the distance so quickly? His speed was terrifying!
He was already pushing himself to the limit to escape, yet Xu Fang had caught up in no time. This level of skill was truly despair-inducing!
But stopping wasn’t an option. If he stopped, the only outcome would be being pummeled into the ground by Xu Fang.
Rather than facing Xu Fang head-on, it was better to keep running. Maybe there was still a chance to survive.
Besides, this was Uttarakuru, the territory of the great demon sages. If he could cause enough of a disturbance, he might attract their attention and be saved.
“Bull Demon King, last time you were lucky. This time, I will make sure you die here in Uttarakuru!”
Xu Fang’s voice was icy, like a judgment from hell. His killing intent was so thick it seemed to weigh down on Bull Demon King’s mind, threatening to shatter his will.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
In their previous battle, Bull Demon King had been lucky to escape with his life. If not for that luck, he would have already fallen to Xu Fang’s blade.
In the original journey to the West, Bull Demon King was one of the trials. If Xu Fang killed him now, he wasn’t sure if anyone would intervene. But at this point, he didn’t care. Bull Demon King had to die today, no matter what.
Even if Tathagata himself came to protect Bull Demon King, Xu Fang would still do everything in his power to kill him. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to quell the rage burning in his heart.
Because of what had happened to Sun Wukong, Xu Fang’s anger had been fully ignited. He couldn’t directly confront figures like Tathagata, but he could certainly take down those he could handle!
Disrupting their plans seemed far more effective than storming the Western Spirit Mount.
Xu Fang closed in on Bull Demon King, the blade’s edge almost grazing the demon king’s back. It felt like the next strike would cleave him in two.
“Help! Someone, help me! The heavens are hunting me down!”
Suddenly, Bull Demon King had an idea. As he fled, he began to shout for help, his voice amplified by his magic and echoing across the land.
In Uttarakuru, some of the demon kings who had been meditating were roused by the noise. When they emerged, they saw Xu Fang wielding the Ghost-Mourning Blade, relentlessly pursuing Bull Demon King, who was fleeing like a scared child.
The sight was pitiful.
“What?! A celestial from the Heavenly Court dares to come to Uttarakuru again?!”
The demon kings were both shocked and curious. This was Uttarakuru, the sacred land of demons! Since when had the Heavenly Court become so brazen as to send a single warrior to hunt down a demon king in their territory? This was a blatant insult!
“Help! My fellow demons, help me! This celestial is too arrogant! Save me, please!”
Bull Demon King looked around at the demon kings who were hesitating to intervene, tears streaming down his face. His appearance was pitiful, almost too tragic to describe.
But even so, the demon kings were hesitant. After all, this was a celestial from the Heavenly Court, and not just any celestial—this was Xu Fang, the newly risen Demon-Slaying Divine General, a killing star whose name had spread across the Three Realms.
Xu Fang had led the Divine Strategy Camp in Uttarakuru for a century, and his reputation was well-known. Which demon hadn’t fled from his blade?
So, even as they watched Bull Demon King being hunted, they were reluctant to step in. After all, no one wanted to die prematurely, and provoking a killing star like Xu Fang was just asking for trouble.
Besides, Xu Fang was targeting Bull Demon King, not them. There was no need to stick their necks out.
“Damn it! Are these idiots blind?! Why are they just standing there?! Come and help me! If you don’t, I’m really going to die by Xu Fang’s blade!”
Bull Demon King was frantic, his heart burning with anxiety. He had already humbled himself to beg for help, so why weren’t they lifting a finger?
Sure, Xu Fang was powerful, but with so many demon kings here, even he wouldn’t be able to handle them all, right?
“My fellow demons, can you really stand by and watch me die at the hands of the Heavenly Court? My death might not matter, but isn’t this the same as letting the Heavenly Court trample all of us demon kings of Uttarakuru underfoot?!”
“If you still don’t care, then fine! I’ll just die here!!!”
With a roar, Bull Demon King suddenly turned around, no longer fleeing. He stashed the Primordial Qi, drew his weapon, and charged at Xu Fang, who was hot on his heels.
Boom!
A massive wave of energy erupted between Xu Fang and Bull Demon King, sending the demon king staggering backward.
