Allison was exasperated from all the work she had to do. It wasn't even important! That father of hers kept making sure that she had plenty of play time. Sure, that's great for a normal five year old but normal is exactly what Allison wasn't. She had to act the part of a small child in front of every single person at the estate and it was tiring. Objectively, Duke Vissier was a great father. Allison couldn't deny that. He gave her plenty of attention, food, toys, anything a child could ever ask for. But Allison wasn't a child and she had no idea how to do anything like achild.
Every servant would fawn over her like she was a precious gem and it got seriously overwhelming. Everyday people who get in her face asking things like, did you have a good rest? Is your room comfortable? Is there anything you need? Can I give you a new toy? Should I destroy a kingdom for you? Would you like breakfast? It's nice the first few times but after the twentieth one of the day, Allison would start to shut down. She stopped speaking, she wouldn't eat, every single sound seemed to vibrate directly in her ear like a loudspeaker. She still couldn't even move properly without the help of her magic. Everything was just too much.
She only felt better when everyone left, but this almost never happened. Allison felt physically unable to speak sometimes so it was even harder for her to communicate what she actually needed. The best she could do was pressure everyone in the room to leave. Literally. She would change the air pressure until everyone left because they were uncomfortable and then she would lock the door. Peace at last. Not even her father was spared.
Her father was something else. He unconditionally loved his daughter. Once he figured out how talented she was in magic he would show her magic related things every time he visited. He presented the illusion of someone in power with no idea what he was doing but that was far from the case. Allison could see beyond that illusion. He was cold and calculating in everything he was involved in except situations involving her. Behind that idiotic smile was someone who understood everything that was happening inside and outside the situation and as far as Allison could tell, the most likely candidate to be in charge of the criminal underworld. No one else seemed to realize it. No one but her.

He seemed to realize it too. He sometimes didn't bother to hide that part of himself when they were alone. But he was as loving as a father she could have ever hoped for. Allison felt a bit guilty being lucky enough to have a good family when Rinaye was stuck in that cesspool of a family. But what was done was done. Allison couldn't really change the path of the this world without severe consequences.
Whenever Allison was alone, or had some free time on her hands she would check in on Rinaye the best she could. Whether that meant splitting her soul from her own body to see what she was doing while everyone else saw Allison as asleep or just leaving through the window. She watched her leaving the tower, making sure she was safe, as well as laughing as she tried to pay for the croissant. Whenever Allison spent time with Rinaye it seemed like all of her worries just melted away. Even the gossip spreading through the nation about Rinaye didn't worry her. She was too resilient and strong to even worry about that, she would probably just laugh it off.
Allison's father already knew that those rumors weren't true. From the people he had inside the Theomor estate, he already knew what happened from their own point of view. Allison already figured out that her father probably knew she had something to do with Rinaye's imprisonment. He kept stealing glances at her when the topic was brought up. He was really smart for a human. Allison admired him for that. He even turned a blind eye when she disappeared for hours on end, knowing with her abilities, it was more likely that hell froze over then Allison getting in danger.
He even asked her if her friend needed help with anything, already knowing what happened. Allison said that Rinaye didn't, but she thanked him for his consideration anyway. He seemed like he would drop anything just to help her, which was both endearing and concerning in of itself. He gave a five year old child several dangerous materials just because she asked for them. Like, why? I guess he just really believes his daughter is a genius. I mean, genius enough to know how to use those dangerous materials without blowing herself up.
Her life was easy enough, even though it was tiring. Time pasted way too quickly. Before she knew it, it had already been a few years since Rinaye had been brought to the tower.
