Aunt

Rinaye woke up to a knock at her door. This was strange in of itself since almost no one made the journey into the forest. When she opened the door she was jumpscared by a woman she had never seen before in her life. The woman was enchantingly beautiful with gorgeous red hair and shining violet eyes but Rinaye did not expect a full frontal attack in the form of a hug. She could barely separate herself from the women but when she did Rinaye saw that her violet eyes were red with tears.

"Are you okay?" Rinaye asked the woman.

"I'm okay, darling." The woman said, her voice, just as beautiful as her appearance.

"Oookay, would you like to come inside?" Rinaye asked, gesturing towards the door.

The woman nodded and Rinaye led the two of them inside her home. The sat down at Rinaye's dinning table which thankfully had a second seat because of Allison.

"Sooo, what brings you here to my humble abode?" Rinaye asked the lady in the fancy clothes.

"I knew your mother," She replied.

"That's a first," Rinaye mumbled to herself.

"Let me introduce myself, I am Madeline Theomor, previously Madeline Crystol. Sister of the now departed Celia Crystol," Madeline recited.

"Who's that?" Rinaye asked wondering how important this Celia was to society to place your relation to her in your own introduction.

"Celia was the name of your mother." Madeline responded, completely shattering the illusion Rinaye got from her introduction.

"Does that mean you're my aunt?" Rinaye asked.

"In a way. Celia and I were half sisters. We shared the same mother, the Head of the Crystol family, your grandmother. My father was your grandmother's husband. Celia's father was a baker. His store is long gone by now, but he made the fluffiest bread." Her expression grew soft as she recalled memories of a happier time. "When she became pregnant with you she asked me to look after you if she couldn't. We even signed a contract. That's the kind of person your mother was." She pulled out a piece of paper out of thin air. "This is that contract. You won't be able to read it, it's in another language." She said as Rinaye started to look over the contract with visible frustration. "To summarize it, it basically says if your mother could not care for you, I was in charge of your upbringing."

Rinaye looked at her with contempt. If she was in charge of her upbringing, doesn't that mean that she caused everything that ever happened to her?

"Don't look at me like that. I told your father that you were to be raised in the village and he completely disregarded me. He lied to my face and said that you were handed off to a lovely elderly couple and because of what I did to insure that, I couldn't check for myself!"

Madeline got fired up at the mention of Rinaye's father, it seemed that the entire room started glowing with anger just with a flux of her emotions.

She seemed to notice her effect on the room and slowly started to calm herself down. "I'm sorry, darling. I get so angry when I have to mention that rotten husband of mine," she apologized.

  "Husband?" Rinaye asked with curiosity.

"Huh? Oh, yes. I am Madeline Theomor now. Thanks to such a political marriage. I have been for about seventeen years."

"Oh! That means you're my brother's mother!"

"Yes, my boys are the only good thing out of this whole scenario. I love them dearly. I am just so proud of both of them." Madeline's expression went soft again thinking of her sons. "Now that I can go out and about again, I'm going to annoy them with my presence so much that they're going to get sick of me after a few minutes. I'll get them presents and hugs. I will procure the bestsweetest

Rinaye just kind of stared at her aunt while she gushed over her sons for the next ten minutes.

"Did I mention that you look exactly like Celia when she was your age? Her nose was a bit smaller but besides that, you could be her doppelganger. The same hair, the same eyes, the same taste in clothing. Can you play music too?" Madeline asked.

"Yeah, I can. I have quite a few instruments upstairs." Rinaye replied.

Madeline's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Can you show me?" She asked with the expression of a child on Christmas Day.

Rinaye replied in the affirmative and led her aunt upstairs. There she showcased her instrument collection. The entire room was filled to the brim with guitars, strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion. Every instrument you could imagine was in that room.

"What in the world...?" Her aunt was flabbergasted by the sheer amount of what was in the room.

"What would you like me to play, Auntie?"
