Chapter 68: The Gate of God (Part 2)

Chapter 68: The Gate of God (Part 2)

Looking into An Lan's eyes, Li Ling inexplicably fully believed the old general's words, as these mysterious formulas were currently being calculated by hundreds of the world's fastest supercomputers.

"You're saying that the area at 30 degrees north latitude is a gateway to a higher civilization space. Am I right?" Li Ling's eyebrows furrowed slightly as he followed An Lan's train of thought.

"There's no mistake, but all of this is just speculation, and nothing can be confirmed unless these outdated computers can decipher the ancient formulas left behind. Otherwise, any guesswork would be powerless evidence." An Lan's eyes had a hint of powerlessness, and she let out a faint sigh, putting down the manuscript in her hand, as if there was a sense of loss that everything in life was beyond control.

Li Ling listened quietly to An Lan's words, and after a moment of hesitation, his eyes revealed a hint of determination as he looked at An Lan and said: "General An, I have a very terrifying guess. Do you want to hear it?"

"What kind of guess? Tell me." An Lan raised her head, with a puzzled light in her eyes, curiously looking at Li Ling.

Li Ling furrowed his brow for a moment, then lifted his head and said, "Although this conclusion is a bit disappointing, I still think it should be mentioned."

"I want to advise General An to stop the move to decrypt the password of the Time-Space Gate." Li Ling looked at the rapidly rotating data with a hint of worry, feeling slightly uneasy in his heart.

A hint of surprise flashed in An Lan's eyes as he looked at Li Ling with great curiosity, "Why would you have such an idea?"

"Because of the lingering fear! Especially with the speculation brought about by this Gate of God, however, I don't know how great the possibility is that I'm guessing. But if a civilization rashly makes contact with another civilization, what may be triggered is not progress, but disaster and destruction." Li Ling's voice trembled slightly as he turned to look at An Lan.

"Go on..." An Lan didn't stop Li Ling because of this sentence.

"Why did the powerful civilization of Atlantis perish? Was it really just because of tsunamis, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, or even sea monster attacks that led to the complete destruction of this civilization in human history? Even if so, according to records at the time, Atlantis had an extremely high level of civilization, yet disappeared overnight. All of this came too suddenly! How could a civilization with such a high degree of advancement be unable to predict natural phenomena like tsunamis and volcanic eruptions?" Li Ling's eyes were fixed on the manuscript, which included some explanations for the downfall of Atlantis.

An Lan thought Li Ling must have more to say, furrowed her brow, lowered her eyelids and pondered for a moment before nodding and saying: "You continue."

"I'm just speculating, but at that time, the Atlantis civilization wasn't destroyed by an ordinary disaster on Earth, but rather by a divine punishment from God. If a god wants to destroy a civilization, no matter how advanced your technology is, it's all in vain." Li Ling couldn't say anything clearer and could only describe it as a divine punishment.

An Lan listened intently without interrupting Li Ling's analysis.

"So, at that time, the high-end people in the Atlantis civilization also tried to open the Gate of God, decipher the password of the Gate of God. Fortunately, their technology was very advanced, they successfully cracked the password of the Gate of God and opened the Gate of God at 30 degrees north latitude. But disaster followed, bringing punishment from God!" Li Ling's eyes suddenly became focused, and what came next was the most important thing to be said.

"Ah... why would God want to punish people!" An Lan didn't speak, but instead listened intently.

"The gods are a more advanced civilization than humans, and humans are on the lower end of the spectrum. The reason is that when two civilizations at different levels collide, there are usually only two outcomes: either one becomes enslaved by the other, or one is completely destroyed. It's like how someone with great power won't let a weaker person have the chance to become stronger and surpass them." Li Ling said it very realistically and bluntly.

This, An Lán understood better than anyone else, for he was a general who knew that battles often occurred not because of justice, but to prevent the opponent from growing stronger and surpassing oneself, resulting in the loss of one's original sense of security, this is the way of heaven.

An Lan took a deep breath and sighed slightly: "Your analysis is very correct, maybe your guess is true too."

"I'm just guessing at the possibilities that exist, but as for the real reason, I estimate only the Atlanteans themselves are clear." After saying his guess, Li Ling smiled slightly.

"There's no way to stop this, this work. Even if we're willing to stop, other countries won't. And this matter, it's absolutely not that simple to stop." An Lan shook her head repeatedly.

Li Ling understood that some things cannot be stopped once they have started, and must be seen through to the end because too many things are involved.

"Moreover, this is just a guess, and it's very one-sided, so your guesses can't be confirmed. Therefore, none of your guesses can gain complete trust from others. Now that I've said this, I want to take you to see something that you probably haven't seen in your entire life." An Lan lightly tapped on the keyboard. A cabin door opened.

"I'll take you to see something, and then you'll know why the whole world wants to get Quiet himself." An Lan's face was tinged with a hint of helplessness as he beckoned Li Ling over, saying: "Come on!"

Li Ling closely followed An Lan's back, walking towards the mysterious cabin door. Behind An Lan's back, Li Ling clearly felt that a general who had grasped the country's military power and had once been invincible on the battlefield could also have such a helpless moment.

After entering this other airtight cabin, An Lan closed the cabin door.

After passing through a very deep tunnel, a vast space chamber appeared before Li Ling's eyes, which was an incredibly huge and unbelievable massive existence.

That was the skeleton of a creature that defied description, a being that could not possibly exist on Earth. The skeletal structure was bizarre, with no skull or limb bones, just a jumble of rib-like structures that intersected and merged to form an irregular latticework of bone.

"This is......" Li Ling's eyes widened in extreme surprise, looking incredulously at the skeleton of a creature that might not even appear in myths!

"This is a biological skeleton that we have never recognized before, and I don't know where it originated from. It was quietly discovered by relying on its own dream consciousness in a 100,000-year-old tomb in Gu Lou Lan." An Lan narrowed her eyes and let out a faint sigh.
