Birth of Destruction 3

  April 17, 2020

Waldo is massively disappointed by the outcome of his fight. He was either too strong, or his opponents were simply too weak. Whatever the case, Waldo feels as if it should hold back some more. As much of a pain it may be, he doesn’t have a choice if the fights he gets into are going to end that quickly. Well, now that the fight is over, Waldo continues to search for other lifeforms. However, it seems that the group of cursed spirits he just got rid of were the only living things in the city. Waldo gets frustrated at this revelation and punches a hole in the wall of a building.

“This place is useless! Nothing but a couple of riffraff! I must explore the area outside if I am to find anything worthwhile.”

And so, Waldo ventures out of the city and sprints straight south. Using shockwaves to boost his travel speed, Waldo runs at the speed of sound with ease. The landscape outside of the city is quite disturbing and ominous. The once vibrant green blades of grasses, the colorful assortment of flowers and plants, the chilling blue skies, and the fluffy white clouds, all of the color has been drained from these things. Either that, or they’re gone entirely. Instead of grass, it’s plain earth and stone. Instead of a blue clear sky, it’s covered by a shroud of strange mist. Pollution covers the air and even there are even large patches of radiation to be found. If everything is like this, how will Waldo find someone to fight? Is everything else dead as well?

Waldo decides to stop running aimlessly and look around… whatever there is here. It turns towards some sort of dead forest and walks over to it. Dead trees encompass the entire area, the former beauty of these arbors no longer present. Carcasses of the former fauna lay sprawled across the ground. This area is more of a wasteland or dump than anything else.

“It doesn’t seem like anything is here. It appears that whatever occurred caused the life of humans and animals to disappear. What kinds of trouble did they get themselves into?”

After wandering around the dead forest for about 2 hours, Waldo turns around and walks to the exit, having found nothing of interest. However, he stops in its tracks as he hears something. Footsteps… voices… there are people nearby. These people have cursed energy readings. Waldo mouth curls into a malicious smile, personifying his intent to hunt. It turns around with a beaming eye and heads over to its next prey.

“I can’t believe this all happened in such a short time! I mean, the entire world collapsed! How the hell did that happen?”

“It was all too sudden… stronger sorcerers and stronger curses began appearing… and then the bombs began flying around.”

“Meh… I’m not too worried ‘bout it. We’re Grade One sorcerers. We can survive anythin’ that comes our way!”

Waldo can hear a group of 3 people up ahead, most likely jujutsu sorcerers. Once he gets close to their location, he jumps up to the trees and watches the sorcerers from atop one of the big dead trees. Two of the sorcerers are men and the other is a woman. Their level of power is… decent.

“Their level… they will be much more entertaining than the trash from before.”

“Why do we have to go through this forest? It’s dark… and creepy. What if there’s a curse that will pop out?”, asks one of the male sorcerers.

“Eh, get over it. This is the best way to reach the city without being out n’ the open,” says the more burly sorcerer.

“It’ll be fine. There haven’t been any cursed spirits in the area lately. We should be fine,” says the petite female sorcerer.

Waldo finds the right opportunity and then crashes down in front of the sorcerers with big impact, coughing up a dust cloud.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“WAAAH! See?! What did I tell you? We’re gonna die here!,” the scared sorcerer says.

“Hmph! Just stand back and watch then, short stack! I’ll take care of this one!”, the burly sorcerer says as he assumes a fighting stance.

Waldo sees that one of the sorcerers are eager to fight. He smirks and assumes a fighting stance. Someone with a backbone… and power to back it up. The other two sorcerers behind him don’t seem all that interesting or eager to fight. Oh well…

“I’ve come looking for a fight… do not disappoint me, sorcerers. If you value your lives, you oughta put up a good show!”

Waldo makes sure that he is holding back enough power. If it exerts too much pressure, this fight may end quickly. He wouldn’t want that to happen again. But this sorcerer is several times stronger than the cursed spirits he faced before. Perhaps he can withstand his full power?

“Samuel, let me assist you,” the female sorcerer says as she begins to walk towards the two of them.

“Nah, I got this. This cursed spirit might be my size, but it doesn’t know who it’s dealing with. With my technique, I’ve never lost a single fight. This will be over ‘n a matter of seconds.”

Waldo charges straight at Samuel, shocking him with its speed, and throws a punch to his liver. Samuel blocks the punch and throws a roundhouse kick at Waldo. Waldo dodges the kick easily and goes for an uppercut, which Samuel narrowly dodges.

(It’s fast! This is no ordinary curse! I’m gon’ have to really pump it up!)

Samuel throws a front kick at Waldo. Waldo takes the kick, smiling it off, and lands a right hook on Samuel’s face, immediately blasting him with a shockwave. Waldo chases after the flying Samuel and drop kicks him into the ground. However, Samuel grabs Waldo’s legs and slams him on a tree. Then, Samuel throws a punch faster than before. When Waldo dodges it, the punch collides with the tree and suddenly many of the trees collapse upon impact by the sheer force. Waldo looks at this sight while jumping back, smiling with interest.

“Your technique is rather interesting… what does it do?”

“My technique is nothin’ special. I’m able to change the weight of whatever mass I choose. Right there, I made my arm weigh nothing until the last second, where I tripled the weight for more force. It’s simple, ain’t it?”

“I see… simple yet quite effective. You’ll prove to be an entertaining foe. Let’s see if you can keep up this performance.”

The two of them charge towards each other, clenching their fists, and throw them at maximum power, clashing with each other in a struggle for victory. Suddenly, a shockwave comes out of Waldo’s leg and strikes Samuel in the stomach. Samuel’s body stumbles and attempts to rebalance. Waldo jumps and kicks Samuel across the head and again in the chest, sending him flying.

“WAAAH! Samuel! Hey, Hannah! We really need to help him out or he’s gonna die!”

“We can’t… If we interfere, we’ll destroy Samuel’s pride. He’s been able to win by himself until now. If we jump in, we could win but he’ll never recover. We just have to believe in him…”

“But if he’s dead, he won’t have anything to be prideful about!”

The two other sorcerers watch the fight between Waldo and Samuel. Mark, the other male sorcerer, spectates with a worrisome expression. He’s never before witnessed a curse that could fight head to head with Samuel and overpower him, and with such a battle hungry face too. This curse is a large threat.

(If Samuel ends up losing… I’ll have to face that thing! Ahhh… I don’t wanna do that! That curse is so frightening! How did I even end up in this situation???)

Waldo continues beating down Samuel and pushes him into the trees. Samuel removes the weight from the tree behind him, picks it up from the ground, and hurls it towards Waldo. When it gets close enough, Samuel makes the tree’s weight skyrocket and it falls on Waldo. However, Waldo puts his hands up and stops the tree from crushing him. He prepares to throw it back, using every ounce of strength in his arms, and hurls back the tree while boosting it with shockwaves. Samuel reacts too late to dodge the tree and gets hit directly by it. Waldo jumps up into the air and does a downwards kick back down to the ground, landing on Samuel and creating a crater in the stone ground. If the tree wasn’t enough to end Samuel, the kick surely killed him. Blood splatters across the ground as Samuel turns into paste and flesh. His body is full of splinters and small amounts of dirt and dust. It seems that he already has a grave set for him. Waldo smiles and begins to chuckle. The chuckle turns into a full maniacal cackle.

“Marvelous! That was excellent! Haha! I appreciate your futile resistance, sorcerer. You were quite entertaining after all.”

Waldo steps out of the blood puddle, his footsteps creating crimson markings on the stone. He looks up towards Hannah and Mark, deciding which of the two to go after. Actually…

“Now… how about the two of you come after me at once? It’ll be more exciting, wouldn’t you agree? And, you could even have the chance of killing me. Doesn’t that sound tempting?”

Hannah and Mark back up, still processing the fact that Samuel, a comrade that they’ve been with for so long, is dead in a crater. If Samuel died so easily, this curse in front of them is surely a Special Grade!

“If you won’t approach me… then I’ll simply approach you…”

Waldo appears behind Hannah. She gasps and tries to turn around to avoid the attack, but she’s simply too slow. Her chest instantly gets punctured by Waldo’s arm. Mark quickly shrivels away and watches in horror of his comrade’s death in terror. The truth is… once everything settled away and got back to normal, Mark was planning on confessing his love to Hannah. Ever since the three of them formed a group together, Mark fell in love with Hannah at first sight. But now, that opportunity was ripped away in front of his very eyes. The love of his life is being torn to shreds and eaten like a pack of chicken. Like if she was simply cattle born to be eaten.
