With the recent events of Japan’s bombing, the entire world begins to question: What will happen next? They believe that all of the cursed spirits that inhabited Japan were wiped out. They believe that they couldn’t have possibly survived such a disaster ours strike. However, cursed spirits are made up of cursed energy. They may be affected by conventional means, but they will never be harmed by them. They do not possess ordinary physical bodies like humans do. This means that the bombs used on Japan didn’t kill all of the cursed spirit in Japan, meaning that they are still free to roam the Earth as they please. Of course, Kenjaku found a way to survive the destruction of the bombs as well, but he plans to stay hidden for just a bit longer. Now that the country of Japan is presumed dead, the cursed spirits are free to travel across the ocean and make it to the other parts of the Earth. Throughout the course of 7 days, the cursed spirits arrive on the shores of North and South Korea, eastern Russia, and some parts of eastern China. Because cursed spirits are normally invisible to the eyes of non-sorcerers and any type of detection technology, they make their arrival rather stealthily.
The cursed spirits begin to cause havoc on the masses upon their arrival. Hundreds of citizens vanish, several establishments begin to crumble, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Any bystander that comes across a gun or other type of weapon is useless against these creatures. As time goes on, more and more cursed spirits march their way into the rest of Asia and terrorize it. Such large numbers of cursed spirits and cursed energy, as well as the influence of the Merger, result in some new sorcerers awakening. The jujutsu world has balance. In order to balance out the influx of cursed spirits, jujutsu sorcerers must be born to see this through. Naturally, this slows down the rate at which the cursed spirits advance. Now that Asia, as well as the rest of the world, have evident proof about cursed spirits and sorcery, they begin to develop countermeasures and ways to use this cursed energy for their own benefits. Agencies and businesses begin recruiting and hiring sorcerers to deal with the cursed spirits that appear through their countries. Given the greedy nature of humans, once enough money is presented in front of their faces, they cannot afford to decline such offers. Eventually, an entire month passes from the time the Great Merger is created, cursed spirits are now present and common on the entirety of Earth.

The world slowly but surely begins to adjust to this new reality of the jujutsu world. Half a year after the events of the Culling Games, cursed spirits and jujutsu sorcerers are present everywhere. The United States, China, Russia, Mexico, just about any country you can think of is now full of jujutsu. A lot of this was due to the influence from the Great Merger and the expansion of the Japanese cursed spirits. Now that the world of Jujutsu has become known by everyone, new kinds of cursed spirits and sorcerers have emerged from the chaos. Sorcerers are now officially recognized by the government and are sometimes hired to exorcise certain curses. Another effect of the Great Merger was a rebalance of cursed energy. Stronger sorcerers and stronger curses were born as a result of the jujutsu world needing to be up to speed with the progression. Just like how the world had to evolve with Satoru Gojo’s birth.
However, this miracle that seemingly appeared to the world soon turned into a disaster. The scale of conflicts are beginning to grow in size and importance. Countries are starting to use cursed energy for power. This simply means that neighboring lands have something else to fight each other for. With sorcerers being involved in government work now, they were even enlisted to fight against other countries. Also, with the help of sorcerers, some governments secretly hid away cursed spirits for energy purposes or simply to be used as bait and weapons during battle. The ropes that tied countries together started to rip apart as the world began to tumble towards a great jujutsu war.

Then… the doomsday happened. January 6, 2020.
Bombs were sent flying from country to country. The superpowers of the world took the initiative and sought out the power for themselves. Many civilians perish, homes were destroyed, sorcerers were killed, and the lands started to change due to all of radioactivity. The abundance of nuclear explosions and other weapons being fired naturally began to change the world’s environment. Vegetation began to slowly die out. After 3 months, it was no longer safe to stay outside for too long. All of these events led to such pain and suffering. Negative emotions cover the world and everyone who is still alive continues to fear the presence of war and destruction. Then… it was born.

Misery… pain… hatred… war… destruction… inevitably, these all lead to one thing. If cursed spirits are born from the negative thoughts of humans about a certain thought or story collecting together in one place, it would make sense that such fear of destruction creates a one of a kind cursed spirit: The War Spirit. Now, it has cycled through to the modern age. Large amounts of fear and the influence of the Great Merger connect to create a new and powerful cursed spirit. This cursed spirit has simple purposes for its existence: To fight, to destroy, and relish in the destruction it creates.
The War Spirit emerges in the center of New Mexico. It takes in its surroundings, looking at the toppled buildings and cracked roadsides. There are no immediate signs of any life nearby. It’s quiet. Perhaps people have gone into hiding or they’ve been killed off by some force. The War Spirit decides to explore this ruined city in search of life. After taking a few steps, he comes across a newspaper that he stepped on that is mostly faded. He picks up the newspaper, curious about what kind of item this is. News about the worldwide outbreak of wars and bombs are plastered everywhere on this paper from the cover page to the ends of it. There are only a few articles that do not discuss these topics at all, trying to avoid them and give hope.
The War Spirit turns to the back of the newspaper and sees something intriguing. There’s a small ‘Where’s Waldo?’ comic strip taped to the back. The War Spirit stares at it for a while, trying to understand its purpose. Then, it proceeds to quickly find Waldo in the midst of all of the objects in the comic strip. For some reason, the name “Waldo” seems to have a nice ring to the War Spirit…
“Perhaps I shall take this name for myself.”
With that, the War Spirit, with his newfound name “Waldo”, drops the newspaper back onto the ground and continues its exploration around the city. Waldo enters the old cracked down slums of the city. It’s even more rundown and broken than the center of the city. Any building that once stood tall have fallen, and debris covers the ground like scattered leaves in the season of fall. In the slums, he finds several cursed spirits lurking about, hunting for their next meal. Finally, Waldo has found some lifeforms that it can play around with. Something he can do to kill time. He walks over to the cursed spirits with a smile on its face.
“You may not be able to understand my speech, but that doesn’t matter. You all are going to die here to satisfy my desire.”
Waldo appears behind one of the cursed spirits. Before the cursed spirit could question what was happening, Waldo uses a powerful shockwave to disintegrate it. The other cursed spirits in the area turn around and see Waldo smirking at them with a sinister demeanor. They growl at him and now identify him as an enemy. They charge towards him from all angles. Waldo quickly counts the number of cursed spirits. There are a total of 11 cursed spirits lunging at him. It’s perfect, otherwise Waldo would quickly run out of things to fight against. He grabs the closest cursed spirit and throws it at another. Both of the cursed spirits collide together and fall on the ground. Waldo comes from above and blows them away with a shockwave, killing the cursed spirits instantly.
“That’s two down… 9 more to go.”
Suddenly, a cursed spirit comes from behind and slashes its claws at Waldo. Waldo dodges, tears off the cursed spirits arms, and punches a hole through its body, exorcising it. The rest of the cursed spirit continue their assault on Waldo, using their bodies and techniques to attempt to push him down and eat him. However, Waldo proceeds to easily tear through their offense and rip through the cursed spirits one by one. Eventually, only one remains. Feeling fear for the first time, the cursed spirits runs away for its life.
“You’re not escaping from me! It’s futile to retreat!”
Waldo chases after the frightened cursed spirit. Once he catches up to it, Waldo grabs the cursed spirit and destroys it with another shockwave. In the end, Waldo is disappointed from this group of cursed spirits. They proved to be nothing more than child’s play.
“Tsk… how pitiful.”
