Part 1 Chapter 9: Remember me? (1)

The final sunshine has peaked and the morning came rising with trumpets tunes. And if it can be heard, drums and percussion sound are heard hitting hard in the horizon. The majestic new earth will roam away from the old earth.

But before that happens, over at the new earth, and precisely in the presidential building, William Wade, seated comfortably in his imperial all metal office, not one wood or plastic furniture in sight, is on the phone with Joseph.

“All their needs must be met,” said William.

“Don’t worry about it,” said Joseph, confidently, to take care of father Gregory and Sara, William’s parents, who a week prior came to the old earth to say goodbye to the aging planet before boarding the last airplanes to the new earth.

And with the call closure, Joseph, in his office, returned his focus to his guest, Gregory the humanoid, sitting across the table from the old earth leader Joseph.

“That’ll be all. William must be happy. Finally leaving this ditch” said Joseph

“As for the storages you can destroy them or use them if you wish. William doesn’t really care.” said Gregory

“William! No master I see.” said Joseph, surprised “I think I'll keep them. They were a gift after all from him”

  Gregory chuckles. And Joseph added,

“It is none of my business but please have your guards up to avoid more people from my side to get in the airport”

“Sure” said Gregory, as he stands and walks to leave the room- “But.. I can't guarantee no slip up. You see.. the more the merrier” said Gregory making Joseph mad

“Joseph” said Gregory suddenly “I wish you well” he added, which puzzled Joseph

“I can’t say the same to you” said Joseph

  -Gregory left the room.

In storage A017, everyone packs up and gets ready, excited to reach airplanes. Tonight We sleep on the new earth.

  Zack walks in all smiles.

“Good news!” said Zack, making the abandoned children perplexed, this might be the first time they see him smile this wide. “Change of plan, we’re not blowing up the fence. I looked around the front gate of the airport and fortunately for us, no one is looking for Alina. And the security has gone down tremendously there’s basically none.”

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

Alina and her family were joyous at this thought and so was Jeremy.

“Instead we’ll go through the front gate and enter like everybody else” added ZAck

Alina’s family were so consumed with happiness that they didn’t notice the worried looks on the four boys. But Alina noticed, and what she heard yesterday is still lingering in her mind.

“The medical checkup. What about it?” said Charles but there were many more questions but this is the only one that came out.

“Nevermind that, I asked around and the rules were loose” said Zack before looking at Jeremy and whispering “You were right I was paranoid for nothing”

Zack turned towards the four abandoned children “We might not meet again, we might be jailed once we reach the new earth. It was nice running around with the bunch of you. And until then. Take care everybody and good luck” said Zack before the three bikes and jeep headed out to the front gate.

Once they reached the airport, the bikes were thrown on the sides with the keys on, they don’t need them anymore. Zack led the way and walked straight to one of the check-in points. Everyone was excited looking around the airport at this modern facility but the check up tents outside worried them a little. They don’t have health certificates or papers to enter the planes yet. But surprisingly they got handed nine tickets, alas they weren’t all together, they were scattered at different planes.

And so they got separated. Rudy was crying, knowing they have to divide up, but good for him he was with Jeremy and Charles. Mona was with Drake and Derek. Zack with Lilliana. Unfortunately for Alina she was on a plane by herself.

“Just my luck” said Alina chuckling at Jeremy

“Let me talk to them they might let you ride with me...or...your family...it doesn't matter” said Jeremy

“NO!” yelled Zack “we barely got in, we don’t get to have options. We stay low until we reach the new earth” added Zack who was tense ever since they entered the airport, it was as if he returned to the orphanage. His anxiety was noticeable by everyone but no one decided to add to it and separated quietly, saying their goodbyes and heading to their gates.

The airport is fully packed and the speakers' sound is heard throughout.

“Good morning ladies and gentlemen. On behalf of Wade High airport, it is my pleasure to welcome you aboard the last flights with service to Sunsilk city in the new earth. Please have your boarding pass ready. Boarding will soon begin.”
