On Monday, I went to the staff room, where all of my friends were sitting. I sat between Pablo and Alex.
“You'll never guess who I saw over the weekend.” I smiled.
“Who?” They asked.
“Oh my, was it someone famous?” Sofia asked.
“He is famous, but I'm lucky enough to know him in real life. It was Sam! Can you believe it?”
“That's amazing, none of us have ever seen him over the weekend!” Alex exclaimed.
“It's true.” Pablo nodded.
“Yeah, what was it like?” Sofia asked.
“It was nice, wasn't it?” I looked at Sam, who was biting his nails.
“Oh yeah, it was great seeing you. Uh, sorry if I was a bit off or anything, I was distracted,” he replied.
“Don't worry, I know you were disappointed that your family had cancelled their plans with you. Anyway, I saw him at a café and we had a chat.”
“You should've told us that your family cancelled their plans, we could've all done something together,” Pablo said.
“Uh yeah, maybe next time.” Sam scratched his neck. He seemed very uncomfortable and tense for some reason.
“They ended up calling him anyway, the plans were back on,” I said.
“Oh, that would annoy me, I hate things changing at the last minute,” Sofia replied.
“Same.” I nodded.
“I don't like it when plans are cancelled, but what can you do?” Alex shrugged.
“Did any of you hear about EVIL robbing Buckingham Palace on Sunday?” Pablo asked.
“No, I don't really keep up with superhero news anymore.” I shook my head.
It was shocking that they'd stolen from Buckingham Palace; I didn't see how they could sell anything they'd stolen.
“I heard the fourth member, Dark Demon, was there,” Sofia said.
“It's weird, I've never seen him… or her.” I shook my head.
We'd run into EVIL a few times, but I'd only ever seen Vicious Viper, Bloodlust and Blazing Inferno. I imagined it'd be even scarier fighting them with a fourth member there.
“We haven't either, Dark Demon is only with them sometimes,” Alex replied.
“Yeah, it's not often that you see Dark Demon,” Pablo said.
“At least it means that we never have to deal with him,” Sam said.
“Yeah, I'm glad we haven't.” I nodded.
We couldn't even stop EVIL with only three of them, taking on four would be even worse.
The alarms went off, taking us out of our conversation. We were told that there were terrorists at King's Cross station; I'd never dealt with terrorists, but I definitely didn't want to. They were so scary and extreme.
We rushed to the station, and there were loads of people running out of the building.
“How are we going to get in?” I asked.
“I'm sure Sam and I could make a way through, just come behind us,” Alex replied.
“We'll do that, we need to get in there quickly,” Pablo said.
Sam and Alex went at the front, while the rest of us followed closely behind. Sam used his powers to move people to the side, creating a narrow pathway through for us. We got inside and the place was huge, with a high, glass ceiling. It was just as chaotic inside as outside, with everyone running for the exit.
“We should split up so that we can find the terrorist quickly. Sofia and Cara, come with me, Sam and Alex, you two go together,” Pablo said.
Even though I'd be going with Pablo and Sofia, I was still terrified. I hated that terrorists killed so many people with no care at all; they created so much chaos, and they didn't even care about their own lives. It was haunting. They weren't like normal criminals who robbed places, or who went after superheroes — that was what made them so terrifying.
A woman was running towards the exit and she dropped her handbag, but just left it there; everyone else was panicking about this just as much I was on the inside.
We started going down to one of the train platforms, and there was a young man wearing a suicide vest, with no one else around him. I was glad that everyone was away from him, but my heart was beating so fast I thought I might faint. It was going to be awful dealing with this, but I had to. Sofia turned invisible before we got to the bottom.

“Ah, you're here at last.” The man smiled.
He had tanned skin and black hair and he was slim; he was young and attractive, it was such a pity that he was doing this.
“Please don't do this,” I said.
“I'm going to blow up every single one of you, you fucking deserve it!”
“Why? What did we do to you?” I asked.
Maybe I could talk him out of this, Eun-jae had managed to get a robber to leave us alone, so maybe I could too.
“Well, not you, you inly joined recently. You know what, Revive, you leave, this doesn't involve you,” he said.
I was amazed that he'd let me go, but I certainly wasn't leaving my teammates behind.
“I'm not leaving.” I shook my head.
“That's a shame, but have it your way.”
“What's your problem? Why are you doing this?” Pablo asked.
“All of you killed my wife!” He yelled, with tears in his eyes.
That didn't make any sense, there was no way any of my friends would've killed someone. This guy had to be mistaken.
“What are you talking about?” Pablo frowned.
“That Strong Sapphire threw a car at some villain, but it crushed my Esmerelda. She could've been saved if any of you bastards had actually noticed.” The man glared at Pablo.
It was shocking that Alex had accidentally killed a woman, but it wasn't her fault. It was devastating, but these things happened when heroes were fighting villains. But, it would never happen again with me around.
“I'm so sorry that happened, if I could go back and save her, I would. None of us knew that happened,” Pablo said.
“Now, you're all going to pay for it!” He flipped the lid off, exposing the button that would blow us all up.
“No, don't!” I shouted, making him pause. “It's awful that your wife died, and I'm so sorry, but if you kill us all now, we won't be able to stop villains who could kill people like your wife. Also, I can make sure that no one ever dies again, I'd heal or revive them… please don't do this. You're young, you have your whole life ahead of you—” I said, but he cut me off.
“I have no life without Esmerelda, and if I turn myself in, I'll spend the rest of my life in prison.”
“What would she think if she could see you now? She wouldn't want you to do this. There are innocent people still inside, children, mothers, fathers, think about them. Do you really want to destroy families?” I asked.
He sighed. “You're right, I shouldn't be doing this.” The man took off the vest and set it on the ground, making me sigh in relief. All the terror was finally over, I didn't have to worry anymore.
He walked towards Pablo and me. “I'm going to turn myself in.”
“Good choice,” Pablo said.
Suddenly, the man threw a smoke bomb at us; I could barely see anything in front of me, but I heard him running up the steps behind us.
“I can't see a thing!” I exclaimed.
“I can't see well either,” Pablo replied.
“We should go up the stairs and try to find him,” Sofia said, becoming visible again.
“Let's go,” Pablo replied.
We managed to get back up the stairs, but we didn't go very fast because none of us could see well. There was smoke on the upper level, but not as much as the train platform, so it was a bit easier to see.
“Do you see him anywhere?” I asked.
“No.” Pablo shook his head.
“He probably blended in with the crowd and got out of here,” Sofia said.
“That's not good.” I sighed.
We looked around, but we couldn't find the man anywhere inside, so Sofia must've been right. Since so much time had passed, no one other than my friends and me were in the building. We found Sam and Alex on another platform.
“Did you find the terrorists?” Sam asked.
“We did, but there was only one and he got away,” Pablo replied.
“Oh my, what?” Alex's eyes were wide.
“He surrendered, but he fooled us, threw a smoke bomb, then ran away. I think he didn't want to spend the rest of his life in prison,” I said.
“Yeah, it seemed like he'd rather die than be in prison.” Sofia nodded.
“Why was he trying to kill himself and so many others?” Alex asked.
It would be tough to tell her, I was sure she'd feel awful about what happened.
“I don't think he actually wanted innocent people to die.” Pablo shook his head. “He was going to let Cara go. I think he only wanted to kill us… he said that his wife died when we were chasing a villain… you threw a car that killed her.”
“Oh no! That's horrible! I never meant to do that.”
“We know. It's not your fault.” I hugged Alex.
“It's so sad, but any of us could've done it. Anyway, he said we were all responsible because none of us noticed,” Sofia said.
“Yeah, it just sucks.” Alex sighed. “Do you think he'll come after us again?”
“I certainly hope not,” Sam said.
“Hmm… I don't think he will. I think he regretted his choice to go after us, he seemed to realise that what he was doing was wrong. I also don't think he'd risk getting caught,” I said.
“That's true, he really didn't want to spend the rest of his life in jail,” Sofia replied.
“Yeah, I think it's unlikely that he'll commit more crimes.” Pablo nodded.
“Since he's gone, I think we should go out and see if anyone needs to be healed,” Sam said.
“Good idea, hopefully no one was seriously injured, since the bomb didn't go off,” I replied.
I liked healing people, I just didn't like sleeping afterwards. We went outside, and I checked over the people who were sitting around, waiting to be seen. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured, there were just a few people with broken arms and legs, due to being trampled when everyone was rushing out of the building. Although, the terrorist had gotten away, he hadn't set the bomb off, and no one had died, so it was a pretty good outcome. Maybe, he'd change his life for the better and start helping people — that was what I hoped he'd do anyway.

I got home, and opened the door; my mouth dropped open when I saw Eun-jae sitting on my sofa. How did he get into my apartment? I thought Sam had scared him off for good, but clearly not.
“What the hell are you doing in my apartment?” I asked.
“Cara, I really missed you. I had to see you, but I didn't want any of your friends knowing,” Eun-jae replied.
My heart was racing, it was so creepy that he'd broken into my apartment just to see me. It might be best to go into the bathroom, then call my friends to come and help.
“You shouldn't have come into my apartment, how did you even get in?” I frowned.
“I picked the lock. I know it's bad, but I can't bear not seeing you.”
“Please leave, I don't like you invading my space.”
“Oh, I wouldn't call this invading your space,” Eun-jae said, then he got up and walked towards me. He got even closer, our bodies were so close, they were almost touching. “Now, this, this would be invading your space.” He smiled.
My heart was beating even faster, I was scared, but I still couldn't help but feel attracted to Eun-jae.
He leaned down towards me, and kissed me, and I didn't stop him. Eun-jae was a great kisser and the danger made it even more exciting; I didn't want this moment to end.
My eyes shot open and my heart was pounding — it had been a dream. Eun-jae hadn't been with me at all, it was all in my head. The dream had been a bit scary, but also exciting, although I was glad it hadn't been real. I'd find Eun-jae extremely creepy if he'd actually got into my apartment, that really was crossing the line. Although, I'd liked the end of the dream, I just wished I could kiss someone like that in real life.
