But many such limitations no longer applied to Silas. Once he forged a Grimoire, its only limitation would be the number of dungeon cores a person could procure. Unlike clearing a dungeon by defeating its boss and exiting, touching the dungeon core summoned a being one level higher than the boss monster.
This was no ordinary monster—it was a demon, a being considered royalty in the Nether World. The Nether World, unwilling to lose a dungeon core—more valuable than all the monsters inside the dungeon combined—used the demon as a last-ditch effort to protect it.
Unlike mindless beasts, demons were far more challenging to defeat, which was why dungeon cores were scarce in the market. Few dared to face such trials, and even when dungeon cores were sold, their prices were exorbitant—enough to make even the wealthiest individuals shed bloody tears.
Considering all this, Silas remained calm. The demon summoned should only be at Silver Rank, given that the dungeon boss would be at the peak of Bronze Rank. A foe of that caliber was well within Silas’s current might. While a Silver Rank might pose more of a challenge, Silas felt confident he could handle it.
After explaining the greatness of Grimoires, Nina continued, transitioning to a broader topic: the universe they were in, which had birthed countless great beings.
The universe’s name was The Great Sentinel, a title carrying immense weight among countless known universes. It was one of the most protected places in existence, renowned for its myths and unparalleled grandeur.
Nina’s eyes sparkled with pride as she spoke of her home. Despite being only 150,000 light-years in size—comparable to an average galaxy—The Great Sentinel was classified as a universe due to its immense energy and priceless resources. It resided in a unique realm of time and space, preventing any intrusions from outsiders.
But the name The Great Sentinel carried even greater significance due to a legendary location within it: The Path of Sentinels. This was the site of the fabled Sentinel Trial, shrouded in mystery and legend.

Nina admitted that she knew little beyond the trial’s name. Its purpose and nature were beyond her understanding. Still, compared to his earlier cluelessness, the information was a significant improvement for Silas.
Once his doubts were cleared, Nina hesitated before speaking softly, her voice tinged with nervousness.
“Young Master, can you help me kill some monsters? I… I can provide you more help when I grow stronger.”
Her voice trembled, betraying her uncertainty. She wasn’t sure if Silas would agree. Many were unwilling to invest in strengthening their personal assistants, often viewing them as endless money pits. This lack of support was one reason her race had stagnated, forced to rely on stronger beings for survival.
Silas, oblivious to these complexities, readily agreed. “No problem,” he replied casually.
Nina’s eyes widened with surprise and relief. A spark of hope ignited in her heart.
Boom. Boom.
As Silas advanced through the dungeon, he looked up. Above his head, amidst the branches of towering trees, layers upon layers of webs were woven like a carpet. A green spider, the size of a tank, stared at him, poised to strike.
Silas’s eyes gleamed, but he refrained from using his homemade spears. He feared killing the spider in one hit, remembering his promise to Nina. Instead, Silas slammed into the tree where the spider was perched.
Boom!
The massive tree, with a trunk over a dozen meters in diameter, snapped in half under the impact.
Things happened quickly. The spider had no time to react. It crashed to the ground, rolling away from Silas’s direction. With a single leap, Silas dashed toward it and slammed his paw down, pinning the spider to the ground.
The spider’s legs twitched weakly—it was barely clinging to life.
Understanding Silas’s intent, Nina, perched on his mane, pulled a bow from her backpack and drew her bowstring. The bow transformed into a crescent shape.
Twing.
Woosh.
The arrow struck the spider’s head and....bounced off.
The spider: …
Silas: …
Nina: …
The spider looked at Silas with a final expression of resentment. Its twitching ceased entirely.
Poor guy. Looks like his heart gave out.
even Silas felt a little bit of pity as it was not a grand way to go out
