Filler Chapter 2: Nexus Has a Son?!??!??!

Filler Chapter 2: Nexus Has a Son?!??!??!1. The Day My Sanity Died (Again)It was supposed to be a normal day.

A peaceful, uneventful, completely stress-free day.

I woke up, went to school, survived math css, and was now sitting in the cafeteria, eating a very untrustworthy bowl of mystery curry.

Mikasa was across from me, casually sipping her drink.

Rika was next to her, hacking into something (as usual).

  Everything was normal.

  And then…

  HE walked in.

The moment he stepped into the cafeteria, the air changed.

A strange tension spread through the room.

  Students stopped talking.

Some looked up from their meals in confusion.

  Even Rika paused her typing.

  This wasn’t just anyone.

  This guy—

  This kid—

Looked like a miniature version of Nexus.

  Bck trench coat.

  Deadly red eyes.

  That same emotionless killer aura.

I nearly choked on my curry.

  Mikasa blinked.

  Rika whispered, “…What. The. Hell.”

  And then—

The kid locked eyes with me.

  And said—

  “Are you Yuuji Kisaragi?”

  …Oh no.

  2. The Worst Possible ConversationI slowly pced my spoon down.

Mikasa casually reached for her sword. (Wait, when did she bring a sword to lunch??)

Rika was already scanning the kid with her ptop.

  I gulped.

  “Uh… Who’s asking?”

  The kid stepped forward.

“I am…” He hesitated, then clenched his fists. “Nexus Jr.”

  The entire cafeteria erupted.

  “DID HE JUST SAY NEXUS?!?!”

“Wait, WAIT, WAIT—DID HE SAY JUNIOR?!”

  “IS THAT NEXUS’ SON?!?!?!”

  Chaos.

  Absolute chaos.

  Students were screaming.

  Teachers were panicking.

Someone literally jumped out of a window.

  And me?

I was sitting there, desperately trying not to pass out.

Mikasa, however, was way too calm.

“…Huh. Didn’t see that one coming.”

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN, ‘HUH’?!?!” I whispered violently.

  She shrugged.

“I mean, technically, it makes sense. Nexus was a super-powerful killing machine. If he had a backup AI program that somehow developed into a new entity, that would expin—”

  “STOP MAKING IT SOUND LOGICAL!!”

Meanwhile, Rika was just… staring at Nexus Jr.

And then she said, completely deadpan:

“…Kid, you do know your dad tried to kill us, right?”

  Nexus Jr. nodded.

  “That’s why I’m here.”

  Oh.

  Oh no.

  I turned to Mikasa.

  Mikasa turned to me.

Mikasa whispered, “We might have to fight him.”

I whispered back, “What if we just… run?”

  Mikasa shook her head.

  “…We’re surrounded.”

  I finally looked around.

Every student in the cafeteria had backed away.

  We were completely trapped.

And Nexus Jr. was standing right in front of us.

  There was no escape.

  3. Nexus Jr.’s Shocking RequestThe tension was unbearable.

Rika’s fingers hovered over her keyboard, ready to shut down the school’s security system for an emergency escape.

Mikasa was calcuting a battle pn.

I was mentally writing my will.

  And then—

Nexus Jr. took a deep breath.

  And said—

  “…Please train me.”

  Silence.

  Total, absolute silence.

Even the cafeteria background music stopped pying.

A single spoon dropped to the floor.

Somewhere in the distance, a pigeon exploded.

  Mikasa slowly tilted her head.

  “…What?”

  Nexus Jr. clenched his fists.

“I want you to train me.”

  Rika blinked.

“You want us—the people who destroyed your dad—to train you?”

  Nexus Jr. nodded.

  “Correct.”

  I stared at him.

  Mikasa stared at him.

  Rika stared at him.

  And then—

  Mikasa burst out ughing.

“HOLY CRAP, YUUJI, HE’S WORSE THAN YOU!!”

  “EXCUSE ME?!?!”

She wiped a tear from her eye.

“Oh man, this is hirious. The son of the ultimate killing machine wants training from us?!”

  She turned to Nexus Jr.

“Kid, I think you got the wrong people.”

  Nexus Jr. shook his head.

“No. You are the strongest people I know.”

  Mikasa grinned.

  “Well, obviously.”

  Rika sighed.

“Okay, but why do you want us to train you?”

  Nexus Jr. hesitated.

“…I want to be better than my father.”

  Oh.

  …Oh.

  That was surprisingly deep.

  Mikasa rubbed her chin.

“Huh. So you don’t want to destroy us or avenge him?”

  Nexus Jr. shook his head.

“No. I just want to be strong enough to make my own choices.”

For the first time, the cafeteria wasn’t freaking out.

  Everyone was just… listening.

  Even I had to admit—

  That was kinda cool.

  Mikasa crossed her arms.

  “Well, damn.”

  Rika sighed.

  “This kid is actually serious.”

  I groaned.

“So what, we just agree to train the child of our greatest enemy?”

  Mikasa grinned.

“I mean… it could be fun.”

  “…Or it could kill us.”

  Rika smirked.

“C’mon, Yuuji. Where’s your sense of adventure?”

I genuinely did not have one.

But at this point… I knew we had no choice.

  I sighed.

  Rubbed my temples.

  And said—

  “…Fine.”

  Nexus Jr.’s eyes lit up.

  Mikasa grinned.

  Rika chuckled.

  And just like that—

  We accidentally adopted a mini-Nexus.

…This was going to be a disaster.

  4. The First Training Session (Or: Why Did We Agree to This?!)Two days ter, we met up behind the school.

It was supposed to be a simple training session.

  Basic combat practice.

  A few sparring rounds.

  Nothing crazy.

  But then—

  Nexus Jr. DESTROYED US.

  I mean, annihited us.

One punch nearly sent me into orbit.

Mikasa got thrown through a tree.

Rika had to hack her own nervous system just to move after getting knocked out.

  It was BAD.

I y on the ground, staring at the sky.

  “…This is fine.”

  Mikasa groaned.

  “No. No, it is NOT.”

  Rika twitched.

“Ughhh… Kid, what the hell kind of genetics do you have?”

  Nexus Jr. tilted his head.

  “…Was that too much?”

  Mikasa screamed.

  “YOU NEARLY KILLED US!!!”

  Nexus Jr. blinked.

  “Oh. My apologies.”

  I slowly sat up.

“This is a mistake. This is a horrible mistake.”

  Mikasa nodded.

  Rika agreed.

  And then—

  Nexus Jr. smiled.

It was the first time I had ever seen him smile.

  “…Thank you.”

  We all paused.

  “…For what?” Mikasa asked.

Nexus Jr. looked at the ground.

“For treating me like a real person.”

  …Oh.

I exchanged a gnce with Mikasa.

  Even Rika seemed surprised.

  Nexus Jr. rubbed his arm.

“My father… never let me make my own choices. But you three… let me fight, fall, and stand up again.”

  He looked up at us.

“That’s why I want you to train me.”

  Mikasa sighed.

  Rika smirked.

  I groaned.

  “…Ugh. Fine. We’ll train you.”

  Nexus Jr. smiled again.

And in that moment, I knew.

We had just made the biggest mistake of our lives.
