Xania lies on the bed, sighing as she thinks about all the current problems, heroes, a goddess’s descent, a goddamn sci-fi city.
“Wonder what Anise is doing right now, I should probably go check,” Xania thought to herself as she hid her mana to the best of her ability before she teleported to Anise.
“Where is she? I know her mana was somewhere around here wasn’t it?” Xania muttered softly to herself, pushing some plants out of her face as she found herself in a forest, “What the hell? I hate forests, why is she even in one anyway?”
Xania teleported into the sky, using her currently invisible wings as she kept herself afloat, sensing Anise’s mana a bit further into the distance.
“Is she teleporting? Xania thought as she continued to follow Anise, making sure to minimize her mana leakage. She eventually found Anise entering a small little hut, well hidden by trees.
“... I have so many questions,” Xania teleported in front of the door and made herself invisible as she did so before gently pushing it, causing the door to make a soft creaking noise as Xania quickly stopped, not wanting to alert Anise.
“She’s got so much mana and yet she can’t even properly materialize a door,” Xania said to herself as she continued to complain before she entered to find nothing but a couple of windows and stairs leading downwards in a spiral shape.
“Seriously, what is the point of this?” Xania said as she continued to go down, carefully traversing the trap-infested stairs. Xania continued to use her mana detection as another trap suddenly activated in front of her as arrows started to fly out of the wall.
“Ok, guess there are traps that aren’t set up by mana too,” Xania said as she made sure to reset the trap to rid the evidence of her presence as much as possible.
As Xania continued down the stairs, more traps were activated, all of which Xania reset begrudgingly due to feeling particularly lazy from the stairs. After a while longer, Xania started to hear some unique noises which piqued her curiosity but choosing not to teleport to the source to prevent Anise from detecting her mana, a possibility with a dangerously high chance due to the walls being mana-proof which reflects mana waves off of it.
Xania eventually finds herself at the bottom of the stairs as she sees arms, ones made of metal, somewhat similar to when she got sent to the sci-fi city, a place Anise would consider paradise and Xania would consider hell due to seeing all the demons working with magic circles she has no clue about.
“She copied these weird arms from the weird kingdom we were at?” Xani said quietly on accident while daydreaming, watching each of them work.
“Hey, what are they actually for?” Xania wondered as she found the platform moving objects. A conveyor belt, but thanks to her naming skills, ‘Convenience transporter’ and further changed due to her laziness to ‘Mr convenient.’
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
“Alright, so what is my dear friend, Mr convenient up to?” Xania said out loud, not being bothered to hide her presence due to not finding Anise there at all.
“Now, what do we have here?” Xania picks up a squishy object and looks at it for a moment, “is this the shape of a person?” Xania thought to herself, placing the doll back down as she suddenly noticed the unfinished objects moving into a hole in a wall as she entered behind through the door which was right beside.
“Mr convenient to pretty close huh?” Xania thought to herself as she looked around, finding facial features being added.
“Oh! I got it, its a doll!” Xania shouted out, happy that she finally found her answer as she prepared to leave but looked back again, finding another room.
“Well… I shouldn’t, it’s Anise’s things.” Xania stood still, gripping her tail tightly as she wondered which was more important, Anise’s privacy or her curiosity. After a short, very short dilemma, her curiosity won as she entered, finding the dolls being painted mostly black, a tail, horns, and wings being added on too, looking oddly familiar.
“What the hell? No way,” Xania said to herself before she quickly entered the next room, finding each doll getting a scythe that looked identical to hers getting sewn into their arms.
“...”
“I believe the humans have laws on not stealing other people’s… what's the word? Copyrighted things or whatever, I now see why that exists,” Xania said as she continued to the next and final room, finding a mountain of such dolls along with some dolls without scythes, some in different clothes, some different heights along with many others of different varieties.
“My lord,” a voice called out from behind with the owner of the voice being obvious.
“Anise… What is this?” Xania asked, turning back to Anise as she did so.
“I can explain, I swear,” Anise said quickly, trying to get Xania to stop as she tried to burn the dolls.
“You better,” Xania answered, a floating magical flame floating above her hand, growing hotter with each passing moment.
“Look, these are weapons,” Anise said, quickly grabbing one and tearing it open, revealing a non-working magic circle with mana stored in it, ready to blow if any more mana is infused in, “I just thought y’know? Kill 2 birds with 1 stone kinda thing?” Anise said, shrugging and hoping Xania didn’t blow her facility to pieces.
Xania walked up to Anise, placing her hands on her shoulder, gently pushing her back as Anise moved back compliantly until they reached the wall, “My lord, why are you still pushing? We’ve already reached the wall,” Anise asked, concerned for her facility and well-being.
“No one and you better listen carefully, NO ONE hears or knows of this,” Xania said, making sure to specify the ‘no one’.
“Promise!” Anise agreed, placing her hand on her chest with the other at her back with crossed fingers.
“You better keep that promise, how do you even expect these to be used as weapons anyway?” Xania asked, getting a physical response from Anise who had teleported slightly away, infused mana into the one she had torn open before and threw it at her as she shielded herself from the small, quick, and very capable of killing a human strength explosion.
“My lord, we could train the demons with these while teaching them how to use them?” Anise suggested, holding another up, squeezing it while pushing it into Xania’s face.
“Fine, but change their shapes,” Xania agreed reluctantly, knowing that they’ll help the demons defend themselves if she is unavailable due to whatever circumstances.
“Sure!” Anise said enthusiastically, materializing a small cover of cotton over them, hiding their original appearances.
“Fine, I suppose this suffices. I’m watching over the training though, no way I’ll just let you potentially give out some free dolls to every living being inside this still nameless kingdom of ours,” Xania said, ignoring the fact the current name of the kingdom has already been widely accepted by who people as ‘Xania.’
